Tell Me How To Make It Easier For You to Help Me ;-)

Is there something that I can do to make the photo voting easier? Should I post the photos for separate categories in separate posts? Give me any suggestions that would make it easier for your voting. I've received a few votes, but not many - so, I'm thinking that I set it up ALL wrong or something! I've got to take the photos to the fair on Tuesday... my photo mats should arrive tomorrow or Saturday, so I want to start getting the photos printed and ready.

I know... I know... just a rinky-dink-lil-bitty-middle-o-nowhere-fair shouldn't cause me to get so worked up. But, I'm using this as my emotional boost right now - so just go along with me ;-)

I wasn't tagged - so if ya wanna do this - go for it!

I Just CAN'T Believe It!

Another one - I got another award - My goodness, all of you out there in blog-world sure know how to pick a girl up when she's down! I'm always honored and excited to see that someone has visited my blog - but to get awards... oh my - I'm speechless (that doesn't happen very often).

Bridget at And Miles To Go Before We Sleep honored me with this award (She is such a special person, with more talent, patience, and love than five people put together! She amazes me every day!)

I would like to pass this on to...
Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend...Me
Just Call Me Part of the USO
The Middling Monettes

Spreading the Virus

I am LOOOOONG overdue at doing this meme that Rambling Shan tagged me with (my apologies!)...

Mother's Home! has started a new and innovative meme! "Remember passing 'round a piece of paper when you were a kid, and everyone had to add a sentence to make up a story? Well, we did that, anyway...Why not try that as a meme? I can't say that it's a new approach to viral linking, I don't know if it's been done before, but there should be plenty of Linky Love for everyone as the story grows and moves around the Blogosphere!"

1. Copy and paste the story below, and the rules, on your blog.
2. Find out who you're going to tag. (2-3 people, or more, if you wish)
3. Write one or two sentences to continue the story, and use the titles of the blogs you're tagging or any word(s) associated with them as keywords in the links you include in your part of the story.
4. Remember to tell your taggees that you've tagged them!
5. Feel free to use this and start your own viral link story.

I'd very much appreciate a link back to Mother's Home if you do. (Or a tag, if you prefer!)

Sounds like fun! Here's what we have so far...

Once upon a time, after the evil stepmom had put up a Barbed wire fence around everything, the Empress came and shouted: "I've come to give you A little piece of me mind!"

The evil stepmom, Shelby, came out to see what all the Rambling from this Crazy person was about.

I am adding...
The cranky, evil stepmom watched in horror as the insane person began to parade around singing "A Boy Named Sue."

It seemed like forever this insane person would sing and for miles he would parade, all the while twisting and dancing to the song.

So, I tag...
And Miles To Go Before We Sleep
Twist & Skewer

Have fun and be sure to tag others so this keeps moving!

Can You Feel The Love?

Wowwwweeeee! Skittles has given me a very special award. This award means a lot to me, because my blog is only two months old, and I had no idea what I was doing when it came to trying to create a blog that people would want to visit! That woman sure knows how to boost my confidence!
So, now I pass on this awesome award! It's SO hard to choose - there are so many blogs that I absolutely love! This is award is passed along to...
Twist & Skewer
Random Autumness
And Miles To Go Before We Sleep
A Place I Call Home
Girls Gone Wild (Bible Style)
Tales of the Lawn Mower Queen
Ok, I'm done... well, I'd like to add more... but I think I'd be banned from the blogging-award world!

Photo Category - Animals (Domestic and Wildlife)

If you don't understand this post - please refer to this post for an explanation.

I'm going to list the categories that I am considering entering photos in, and then, I'll post some of the photos that I think would fit - hey, if y'all end up voting on 6 photos for two different categories, that's fine with me! - I can only enter 6 per category, and I only have 12 photo mats coming to me:
Architecture (Barns, Houses, etc.)

Animals (Domestic and Wildlife) - I'm assuming that this will include any insect-type photos, since they don't have a separate category for insects or nature. This stinks because I've got great photos of my dogs and 'animals' - yet, I've also got some of dragonflies and butterflies!!! Oh decisions, decisions - thank goodness for all of you!!! There will be A LOT in this category!!!

OH MY GOSH - There are many, many more that I could put in this category - but I've gone overboard here! As you can tell, nature (animals, insects, etc) are my favorite! LOL

Ok, I'vve just posted a whole bunch of photos and, if you want to, you can vote of your favorites (feel free to vote on more than one... or two... or 5... hehe) There are more - but I've got to go find them - I'll post more later and see how many votes they get... right now, I've got to go call my dad - it's that time - I call him every night ;-) I'm such a daddy's girl LOL

Need Your HELP!!! PPPPPPPLease!

Ok everyone... my faithful, handful of readers... I need your help! I just found out that my dad and his girlfriend went and bought (and shipped) me some photo mats so that I could enter some photography in the local fair. Here's the deal! I'm horrible at making decisions... I HAVE to have the photos at the fair on Tuesday. So - I'm going to post several (ok, a TON) of photos that I am considering... I need y'all to vote on them. I can enter a total of 12 photos - so, feel free to vote on more than one! Will y'all help me?? Pppppppplease?!?!

Here's one of the problems - there are eight categories... but, only four categories that I'm interested in entering. I have 12 photos mats coming to me! So - I need to end up with 12 photos to enter. I can only enter 6 per category... so, I'll count the votes and apply them accordingly (in case I end up with 12 photos in the same category getting the most votes of all). Gosh, I'm so excited and nervous, I'm not even making sense! LOL This is a little-bitty-small-town-middle-of-nowhere-fair - so, it's not really a big deal... but, it is to me! I need an emotional boost right now.

I will list the categories and then post the photos - just go ahead and list the # of the photos that you vote for! If you do this for me - I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Heads or Tails Tuesday *Hobby*

I can't believe it's Tuesday already! Oh, I'm so behind!

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It's gonna be lots of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Hobby. So, I thought I would tell you about my hobbies - although, you've probably heard about most of them.

1. I create personalized Italian Photo Charm items (bracelets, necklaces, key chains, bookmarks, etc). I also create other custom photo items, such as tote bags, mouse pads, magnets, and more.

2. Photography - You all are probably really sick of hearing about my photography! It has become a passion, and currently, I am considering putting some of my photos on a stock photography site.

3. Writing - I write poetry, children's stories, and short stories. My dad wants me to write a book and use my photos as the illustrations... yeah, that's something else on my 'to-do eventually' list.

4. Reading - I love to read. Some of my favorite authors are Sara Donati, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Sue Grafton, John Grishham, Jon Katzenbach, Catherine Coulter, Tami Hoag... oh the list goes on and on.

5. Fishing - I love to fish. I've been fishing since I was big enough to hold a pole.

6. Nature and the Outdoors - I love anything to do with being out in nature, including camping and simply taking walks.

7. Computers - I love being on my computer. Flickr, creating websites, and blogging are some of my favorite computer hobbies.

8. Music - I love music, and I love building my music collection. My music tastes range from Bon Jovi to Martina McBride to Bluegrass to AC/DC or Guns N Roses.

9. I collect many things. Besides books, I collect deer items, coffee mugs, tea cups and tea pots, dog and Border Collie stuff, sheep/cow/farm stuff, unique/antique or colored bottles, and Cleveland Indians items. Yep, I've got an abundance of dust collecting stuff!

10. Logic puzzles - I love doing logic puzzles. In fact, my boss once ordered me something like 20 logic puzzle magazines! I don't have much time to work on them lately though.

11. And, of course, another one that you already know - I love being with animals, especially dogs. My three Border Collies are the lights of my life.

Well, that's all I can think of for now. Probably because I've got my long to-do list running through my mind over and over again!

Now, I must go flutter around and get some things accomplished ;-)

Coming soon...

I've just realized that it's Tuesday!!! Oh MY GOSH - Heads or Tails! Can it really be Tuesday already??? Oh my oh my... I'm late!

I will get to Heads or Tails sometime today. I've also been tagged for a few memes.

I also need to do some work, get a shower, go to town to the bank and the hardware store, do some more work, fill out an insurance application, do dishes, clean my kitchen...

Oh my - I better get moving!

Coming soon to a computer near you... my Heads or Tails (I promise!)

How Nice!!

Barb over at Skittles' Place has bestowed upon me this very beautiful award. I am very touched that she thought of me, especially since I've been hiding out and not posting much.

I get to forward this award on to some other bloggers that I believe deserve it... So, without wasting any more time...
Stacey at JameeForever - I think she has already received this award, but I'm giving it to her again anyway. Stacey was one of my first blogging friends when I entered the blogging world. She immediately started visiting my blog on a regular basis and reassured me that I would, in fact, have more visitors eventually. She is a very, very kind and considerate person.

LMQ at Tales of the Lawn Mower Queen - I'm sure that many of you have figured out that LMQ is one of my best friends. She was a bonus that I got when I said "I Do" to my husband ;-) At that time, she was an in-law, but she became so much more. She is now one of my best friends. She always supports me, encourages me, has time to listen to me even when she's busy, and makes me feel good about myself. She is one of the most generous people I know, and she never expects anything in return. Besides - this is the person responsible for introducing me to many of my addictions. She's my enabler! How could I NOT give this award to the person responsible for introducing me to blogging???

And Blogs From the Dogs - We are both blogging friends and flickr friends. I always receive wonderful comments on my blog and very considerate and nice comments on my photos! Besides - someone who is as addicted to dogs as I am!!! I love the dogs on this blog... therefore, I am awarding this award to each one of the dogs in addition to the 'blog dog owner' ;-)

I Always Knew I Was Part Monster!

I did this just for fun, but started laughing out loud at the "who you like to torment" results, so I had to post it on here! First of all, I hate olives. Second, I don't really enjoy shopping (I know, I'm weird). But, hehehe, I've worked for lawyers for over ten years... they must like to be tormented LOL You have to admit though, I make a cute lil' monster ;-)

I Know, I Know, This is a REAL Shocker!

You Are: 80% Dog, 20% Cat

You and dogs definitely have a lot in common.
You're both goofy, happy, and content with the small things in life.
However, you're definitely not as needy as the average dog. You need your down time occasionally.

Yes, I'm blogging... well, kind of. I'm trying, really, really hard to pull myself out of this funk. Therefore, I'm blogging... I guess that's the 'dog' in me, I neeeeeed my friends, and guess what - that's you guys!

If I Had a Million...

The photo is of my Molly, the day that I rescued her and she became a member of my home. This happy, beautiful face should help explain the rest of my post. JaniceNW at Twist & Skewer (another one of my favorite blogs) tagged me for this meme.

If I had a million dollars... oh boy... IF!!! My answer is going to sound like several things... but, honestly, they are all related to each other ;-)

First thing I would do is send for my dad to move out here. He'd love to live here, but can't financially afford to move... So, a million would take care of that ;-) Then, he and I would start that dog rescue together (I'd send for my partner-in-crime too - but I think she is honestly pretty happy where she is at... so, since this was our dream together, I'd have a cat rescue too - just for her). And, of course, since a million doesn't go all that far anymore, I'd have to figure out a way to continue to make some money since an animal rescue is not profitable. Maybe I would make the dog rescue specifically a Border Collie rescue, and then I could train the dogs in agility or herding - and therefore, I could get a larger adoption fee for the dogs - that might help profit-wise ;-) The dog rescue has always been a dream of mine, so that is what I would do if I had the money. Boring post for this meme, I know, but at least I'm honest.

I'll Be Back

Just wanted to let my faithful readers (all three of ya) know that I promise to get back to blogging soon. I am feeling pretty lousy emotionally right now - I'm stressed out and in a funk and I can't get out of it. As soon as I do, I'll be back - hopefully it won't be too long.

Heads or Tails Tuesday *Luck*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It's gonna be lots of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is 'Luck'. And, since it's a Tails week, we are given instructions on what we are supposed to write about ... So, I am here to tell you a couple ways that luck has played a part in my life.

Well, I have to admit, that most of the times that I have considered myself 'lucky', I give more credit to God's intervention than I do mere luck.

When I was young, my dad and a large group of his friends rented a very large campsite on a yearly basis. Each family owned a dune buggy, and the campsite was near acres and acres of hills for riding dune buggies, ATV's, and dirt bikes. One night, when I was still quite young, I was asleep in the tent. I was having a dream that one of the other kids who camped with us had thrown a cardboard box on top of me (Hey, I realize it's silly, but I didn't write the dream). So, I'm dreaming that I've had a cardboard box thrown on top of me, and I wake up and try to sit up... but, I can't move, because something very heavy is holding me down. Oh, no problem, I think... I'm still asleep and dreaming that this box is on top of me. So, I'm quite relaxed for not being able to move, because after all, I'm just dreaming. I lie there for awhile, mentally telling myself to wake up because I'm feeling kind of uncomfortable. So, again, I try to sit up, and still, I cannot move... then I realize (I'm a little kid, remember) that if I were asleep, I probably wouldn't be lying here having a mental conversation with myself... At this point, I also realize that if I were asleep, I shouldn't be feeling like I am having some serious trouble breathing. I think, well, I'll just say something out loud and see if I'm really asleep or awake... so I say "Hey, help"... nothing... but, then, I'm hearing talking and commotion, so, again, a little bit louder, I say "Hey, help"... and then I hear one of the guys who camped with us yell "Oh Sh*t! The buggy is on the kids!" Within a few seconds, the weight is lifted off my chest, and I find myself sitting up in the tent gasping for air, although I had not realized until now exactly how much trouble I was having getting air. Next thing I know, I am being carried out of the tent with adults all around me asking if I'm ok and where does it hurt. I wasn't hurt, but I was very confused, after all, I had just had the weirdest dream! It turns out that, someone was parking one of the dune buggies, the clutch went out on the buggy, and the buggy rolled over the tent that I was sleeping in. The buggy was over top of me, basically straddling me (a tire on each side of me). That's why I couldn't move, because the buggy was sitting on top of me. I am very, very lucky that I was having that dream and incorporated what was really going on into the dream. Otherwise, I may have struggled when I couldn't move or breathe, and I could have seriously been hurt. I am also very lucky, because the next morning, my dad took my hand in his, took me to the tent and said "Do you want to see how lucky you are?" The tire marks were on the tent - somehow (God's intervention), the tire marks curved right at where my pillow was - I just missed having the buggy roll over my head, instead, it straddled me!

Gosh - I can see already that this is going to be a rambling post - so I don't blame ya if you don't read the whole thing!

More ways that I am blessed and lucky... my grandparents and my aunt. They did not have to accept a just-turned-two-year-old, still in diapers, as their own to raise. My grandparents had raised their six children and were at retirement age, and my aunt had never had any children of her own... and then, one day, they take in a two-year old little girl, and they accept full responsibility for raising her and shaping her into the grown woman that she is today. I am thankful every day of my life for them and what they did for me. (The photo is from when my grandparents eloped - that is a very special and beautiful story that I will post at another time.)

And... AND... AND...
'scuse me, I have to stop dancing and doing cartwheels so that I can type...
THIS NEWS JUST IN... (Honestly, I JUST opened the e-mail!!! Gosh, this post just took on a whole different spin than what I had planned)
I have passed the tests!!! I passed the tests!!! WooooooHoooooo. Now, I have two work-at-home jobs. I can work from home, not have to spend a fortune on gas, not have wear and tear on my vehicle, not have to drive a long way to and from work, not have to drive in the winter, can actually be proud of myself and happy with what I'm doing because this is what I wanted to do rather than succumbing to what everyone else said I should be doing. Yes folks, I am a very lucky (and thankful) girl!

Oh - and I am very, very lucky that I have a wonderful husband, family members, and friends (the real-life ones, especially my two best-friends, and all my online friends). I'm lucky that my partner-in-crime nagged me to convinced me to give blogging a try, because that has led to my being lucky enough to meet all of you and consider you my blogging friends!
(These flowers are for my online friends - don't mind the bug... he's just wavin' and sayin' HI!)
