Never Family (A Poem)

You have cursed me,
and you have shunned me.
You have abandoned
and made fun of me.

You've destroyed my belief,
and you have crushed my faith.
You have taken all I've tried to do
and thrown it back in my face.

You've called me a liar
when what I speak is true.
Nothing about me
could ever be good enough for you.

The wounds on my heart
have finally healed.
Although any love for you
it will never feel.

You see yourself as one
who has done nothing wrong.
You have lied to me and yourself
for far too long.

When you look in the mirror,
regardless of what you may see,
the truth will always remain.
You will never be family.

Mist, this is quite a juxtaposition--very very good and at the same time very sad. You have so much talent. I think you could have been writing that for my mother, minus the faith-crushing. If anything, I believe apart from my family my faith has grown tenfold. Blessings my dear friend Mist xoxo
