What? Huh?

Usually, I'm teasing my husband about his lack of hearing. That may sound cruel, but he is aware of this serious problem and refuses to get any help for it, so I pick on him about it in the hopes that he will eventually decide to do something about his hearing problem.

For the past few days, I have been the one saying "Huh?" or "What?". My ear is clogged, from what I'm assuming to be sinus problems. Well, as of last night, my ear is totally clogged. I feel like I am underwater with all the swishing and swirling going on in my ear. And hurt... oh boy does it hurt! Right now, hiccups are absolutely evil... every time I hiccup, the shooting pain through my ear just about sends me over the edge. According to my husband, I've yelled out loud a couple of times... but, I wouldn't know... cuz I can't hear anything ;-)

So, between this ear that is driving me nuts, the wind that was blowing like mad and causing our house to moan and groan outside the window next to my good ear, the issues from yesterday which still have me upset today, and the fact that I have procrastinated (again) on some major homework assignments - 1. I didn't get hardly any sleep last night 2. I feel like crap 3. I'm stressed to the max 4. I just want to go crawl in a cave somewhere and not come out for quite a while. I'll have to take care of the ear problem first though. Otherwise, I won't be able to hear if there's anything back in that cave waiting for me!

Any painful, fluid-filled ear solutions are extremely welcome!

I've done the same thing with Poor Hubby & his sinus polyps (cause snoring & other breathing issues) which he had diagnosed about 7 years ago & he still hasn't had them removed.
About the ear, I have no suggestions. I occasionally have that problem & usually just wait it out. Poor Hubby did, however, teach me the cure for hiccups. It's gross, but it works: swallow a spoonful of sugar. I know, very Mary Poppins, but I can't argue a proven fact.
I hope you can find your motivation. I know how that goes too.

Oh, girl, take care of you! See about your ear; that's just not fun.

I hope you are having a better day (emotionally & physically) today.

hehe j/k
Do take care of yourself. The kidster and I are just getting over being sick. Try heat packing your neck below your ears. Warm cloths on the neck help me. Do not heat pack the ear itself as that can cause all kinds of problems. Also the old folks knew what to do and we hardly ever do this anymore, but try a good old fashion steaming. Boil up some water and put it in a big bowl. Make a tent with a towel and hold it over your head over the bowl. A drop of peppermint essential oil added to the water will help also. (can ya tell I'm all for the natural way of doing things here) No peppermint essential oil? try some mint tea bags!
