Laptop and Weather Update

Just wanted to drop in for a quick post. I'm posting as I fill in at the insurance agency. Last night, my laptop shut itself down and wouldn't reboot :-( (So, Tammy, if you were looking for me, that's why I wasn't online). Now, it will boot up for about 1/2 hour or so, until it gets hot and then it shuts itself off. So, I have booted it up long enough to make sure I have everything backed up. Other than that, I'm pouting... seriously pouting (last night, I was in tears).

I may not make it home this evening. We've had a bad snowstorm this afternoon, and everyone is saying that the roads are absolutely horrible. So, if they are too bad to drive on, my brother-in-law who lives here in this town will come and get me, and I will stay with them tonight. I REALLY don't want to do that, because I just want to be at home, but it's better to be safe than sorry, I guess.

Forgive me for not visiting your blogs - I will visit as soon as I get a chance and am able to be at a computer that won't shut down on me. I miss you guys - don't forget about me ;-)

Be careful!!!! Sleep at the bloody insurance company if you have to, but don't drive in the storm! I have an award for you. There is no way I could forget about you, you're my BBFF!!!!!

D...

I can not even fathom that kind of weather for other parts of the country. I still haven't even gotten my winter coat out yet. I hate to tell you that the kids came back in from recess all sweaty.

Stay safe!

Terri

What are your winters normally like? We got about a foot of snow the other night, but that's normal for us. We're in it for the long haul now. We won't see grass until March or April. We even had a blizzard on Mothers day in '95 (my first mothers day lol)

Sounds like it's time for a new laptop quick! or at least a new to you laptop. Why not a desk top unit for a while? I know they suck and offer no freedom of blogging in the yard if you want, but at least you'd be able to get online.

If it's overheating, I think it might be the fan. I think that's what killed my last laptop. It was just dead and gone. It was a sad time, I must admit.

I'm waiting until spring to get my Mac. I want one of each, so I can use them both for different things.

If you end up having to get a new one, why not look for a refurbished one? Like a store with them, or something online. Usually they're cheaper when you buy online (oh, right...well, you'll have the some access, even if it's the local library to make the purchase from), and after Christmas, there should be more than a few sales.
