The Age That I Wish To Go Back To Meme

My new blogging friend Tammy at Mom Knows Everything tagged me with this meme. What age would I re-do?

Honestly, my first response would probably be along the same lines as Tammy's response. However, I don't want to 'steal' her answer, so I thought long and hard to come up with an age.

You have no idea how difficult this meme is for me, because honestly, there are many times in my life that I don't want to go back and relive, not even in my memory. Of course, there are choices that I made that I wish I could go back and re-do so that I could make the correct decisions. But, that would require me to relive many things that were beyond my control also. So, I guess, I have to be very disappointing and say the same as Tammy. There isn't an age that I want to go back to. I want to be where I am in life and see what each new year has to offer to me.

Answering A Meme Challenge

I totally stole this from Everything And Nothing but, hey, according to her, a little while ago Mimi Queen of Memes challenged her readers to do this meme, on pain of being locked up in the dungeon if you don't. From what I understand from Everything And Nothing she was late in doing this meme, so I guess that makes me late too, but it looked like fun, so I swiped it ;-)

1.Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4 and write what it says.
"Out of the same passion for exactness that made Frank adjust his ties on the..."

My soft fleece no-sew blanket

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
A football game (hubby had the remote)

4. Without looking, guess what time it is.
I guessed 3:30

5. Now look at the clock.
It's 3:45

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Hubby running the skidloader outside and the windmill (it needs oiled bad!)

13. What do you think of this quiz?
It was fun and helped me get my mind off the fact that my throat feels like I'm swallowing razor blades.

15. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
I'd pay SOMEONE else to finish this house - AND, I'd build a new one - that way, my dad could move out here and live in one and we could live in the other! I'd also start a dog rescue. Oh, and a new computer and digital camera.

16. Tell me something about you that I don’t know?
I only weigh about 100 lbs right now (I lost and keep losing weight since the move) And NO, that is not a good thing!

Thanks & Food Poisoning Update

Thank you to everyone for the get-well wishes! They must have worked, because my stomach is doing much better today (as long as I don't eat much)! And, yes, I definitely think that it was the result of some bad seafood.

Lousy thing is that I woke up this morning with what I think is the beginning of a sinus infection. What's up with that? Was this just supposed to be a 'be-sick-and-feel-lousy' weekend??? Oh well, in general, my health is usually pretty good, despite the Fibro and associated conditions that go along with FMS. So, I can't complain.

I'm just having one of those days where when you stand up from a sitting position, or sit down, or bend over, everything starts swishing around in your head and that little creature that is living in there gets out its hammer and starts first on your temples, then on your forehead, and then it crawls around and starts pounding behind your eyes, along side your nose, in your ears, in your cheekbones and even in your teeth and jaws. Wish I could find that stupid little creature that is causing such a problem!

I've realized a few things from the responses to the So Tell Me... post: 1. My little game didn't go over too well, and 2. Y'all ('cept maybe for Bubba's Sis) don't even come close to being as addicted as I! Gosh, I don't know whether to be proud or concerned. I'll probably post a few more "So Tell Me..." posts, simply because I find myself walking or working and wondering about how you would answer certain questions. So, I'll post a few more, but if I don't see much interest, then I'll quit.

I've also realized that even though I decided to venture into the 'get paid for blogging' world, you guys are still visiting my blog. I truly appreciate that! I was a little worried that I would lose readers (I don't have many readers to spare!) when I started really working at earning some money from my blog. Thank you so much for being understanding and for still coming around to see what I have to say!

Eating Dead Fish Tonight

Yep, that's what I'm doing tonight. My sister-in-law asked if we would like to go out to dinner with her and her husband tonight. No, correct that... my sister-in-law asked if we "wanted to go eat dead fish" with them tonight.

The smarty-pants that I am couldn't resist asking "You mean as opposed to eating LIVE fish? Nah, call me when you are going to eat live fish."

Now, I'm a known lover of sushi, and that's RAW fish, but I haven't heard of anyone ever going out to eat live fish. Well, other than my dad, but that's a whole 'nother post... trust me, you don't want to know!

So, we are going out to dinner tonight to eat 'dead fish'. Gosh, that really makes it sound morbid, doesn't it? I think I'll have to tell her that if she keeps referring to it so morbidly it will ruin my appetite!

I better go get in the shower now and attempt to make myself all beautiful, or something close to that anyway.

Strange Cloud

Yesterday, I was inside working, and my father-in-law had just pulled in with a tractor and mower. He was outside working, and all of a sudden, I heard this loud noise and it continued for about half a minute or so. I thought that my father-in-law had run over something with the mower or that something else had happened. So, I went running outside to see what had happened. But, nothing had happened. It was a beautiful day. The sky was bright blue and sunny. Yet, there was this one giant bright white cloud over my barn, and it was thundering. Just that cloud was thundering. It was really weird, because there were no signs of rain or storm anywhere! So, I went back inside to work. In a few minutes I heard "Misty?" being yelled from outside, so I jumped up and went running. My father-in-law was standing there and he asked "Did you see the rainbow?" He pointed to a rainbow that was coming out of the weird cloud. I went running for my camera. Unfortunately, the rainbow had faded by the time I got the camera, and that really disappointed me.

When my husband got home last evening, he asked "Did you hear that thunder this afternoon?" I told him the story about it, and he told me that it was so loud where they were working that they thought something had exploded.

It was very strange, I tell ya!
Unfortunately, you can't really see the rainbow (It's to the left of the barn) because it had faded.

So Tell Me...

This is my new game... hehehe. I'll just ask a quick question or two out of curiosity, and if you wanna play (you know you do) you answer. Don't worry, none of the questions will be personal ;)

The questions I'm asking today is actually with the intent (I hope) to make me feel like I'm not so much an addict...

Approximately how many blogs to you have in your favorites, bookmarks, bloglines, or whatever you use to keep track of your regularly visited blogs?
Approximately how many blogs do you visit per day?

That's it - I'm just curious (besides, if I get answers with really high numbers, then I will feel much better about my own blogging addiction)

Cool Furniture - Smorty Post

As you all know, and are probably tired of hearing, we have been working like mad to fix, update, remodel, and add on to this house where we now live. It really isn't much. It's very small, and it was built way back when. However, I think the plans that we have for it will make it a house that I can be quite proud of when it is all finished.

I've never been able to come into a house and make it mine by decorating the way I want, arranging things where I want, and putting my own special touches on it. So, although there is a lot of hard work involved, it is exciting at the same time.

Obviously, with more space, we are going to need more furniture. I mean, I can't exactly say, welcome to my new home, and feel free to take a seat on the floor. Well, I found a site that has all the Contemporary furniture my little heart could possibly desire. Everything from living room sets to dining and bedroom furniture. The sofa beds especially caught my attention, because I could put one in the guest bedroom, and that would enable me to use that room for other purposes when we don't have company.

I know that my husband would cringe if I told him that I've picked out furniture, because he worries about money. Luckily, the prices are very affordable. Besides, the husband has always wanted leather furniture, and this site has lots of awesome leather pieces available. Maybe I'll just leave the site up on the computer for him to accidentally find, because once he sees it, I can picture him picking out the furniture that he likes. Tricky, aren't I?

Outside My Blogging Window

I was tagged by the wonderfully fun and hilarious Girl Gone Wild . I am supposed to take a photo of what is outside the window closest to where I normally blog. Well, at the moment, all you see outside that window is a giant mountain of dirt (See this post for an explanation of that mountain of dirt). So, I am posting a photo that I took pre-tearing-the-basement-out-from-under-the-houseI'll edit this so I can tag people later. Right now, I've got other things that are requiring my attention, and I just used this post as a way to let my mind wander for a bit.

Whatever!

Ok, so I got my photo back up, but I can't put the title of the blog on there. If I do, then poof, my photo is gone! Well, I think that cute, adorable puppy photo is much more important than the blog title, so I guess I'll just have to make do with it the way it is!

This is one of those - everything is going wrong - days. The weird thing is, that the things going wrong make no sense... I mean, I have no control over them and can't figure out what the heck is happening.

I know, I'm not making any sense.

Ack!!! Where'd My Image Go???

So, I took LMQ's advice and decided to add HaloScan Comments. I did the installation this morning.

Now, my image for my template header isn't showing up! My cute sweet little puppy image is gone! When I click customize, and blah, blah, blah, it shows that the image is in fact there... but not when you view my blog!

I'll have to figure it out later - I've got too much to do today!

TWO People Think I'm Nice!!!

Lookie Lookie...
My friend Tammy thinks I'm nice. Well, I can honestly say that she has no idea how much I appreciate the time, kindness, and all the help that she has extended to me. So, SHE truly deserves this award.

I've already passed this award on once. So, I'm going to pass this award on to another person who has extended time, kindness, and assistance to me when she really didn't have to
Kara at A Bit Of Me

I want to thank Tammy and Kara for all of their help, time, and kindness. I also want to tell you both that I am glad to be able to call you both friends!

House Premiers Tonight - I'm SO Excited

Honest - this is not a paid post... this is just me professing my love for this television show! I have loved House from the very beginning. I have promoted it to everyone I know and usually receive the same responses after they watch it. "That show is so unrealistic. A doctor like that would never last in real hospital." blah blah blah... that's why it's "T V" people!!! Well, I heard this from my husband about House. Now, House is his second favorite television show (coming in after 24). My boss went on and on about how unrealistic and ridiculous the show was... I just grinned, nodded, and waited. Now, oh now, he declares Tuesday nights as the greatest tv night ever, because House (what he declares the greatest show ever) is on! hehehe.

Yes, I realize that it is unrealistic; I realize that no hospital would put up with a doctor treating patients like that... however, I love the show, I just can't help myself. His sarcasm and sense of humor just pulls me right in... So... you know where I'll be at 9/8c tonight :)

Oh yeah, by the way... I totally stole that graphic from Fox.com... so, there, I gave them credit.

Other shows I'm looking forward to besides House:
Private Practice (the spin off from Grey's Anatomy) - Premiers tomorrow on ABC
Grey's Anatomy - Premiers Thursday on ABC
American Idol - not until January or so
24 - not until January or so
Wildfire - probably not until close to January - not sure

Increased Ear Sensitivity To Cold

I've noticed that each year, my ears' sensitivity to cold gets worse. It used to be that my ears would ache and hurt only if I had been out in the blowing-snowing-below-freezing temperatures. But each year, they seem to become more sensitive.

Husband didn't go to work for cousin T today, because it has been raining all day. About two hours ago, husband said that he was going outside to put some things away and clean off a trailer and put it away. I finished up some work and went out to help him. I have been out there in the drizzle/rain for only about 1 1/2-2 hours... but, my ears are screaming... to the point that I am almost in tears! It's chilly out, especially compared to what it has been (hot and humid), but it is by no means cold.

I realize that if I just wear some of those earmuff thingies (note to self to tell Aunt-Cry-Me-A-River that I need a new pair of those for Christmas, cuz I have NO idea where the existing pair is packed away at) that I wouldn't have this problem. I'm just writing this post, because I'm curious as to why this is happening. Is it possible that I am just getting old? Nah, I'm only 32, and I don't consider that anywhere close to 'getting old'.

Oh, and I didn't have ear problems as a child. I mean, I was never one of those kids with constant ear infections, etc. I would have the occasional ear infection, but it was rare. Nah, I passed on the ear problems to be a child who suffered from headaches, migraines, IBS, and Fibromyalgia instead (although I didn't know what the Fibro was until after I was an adult).

Ok, yes, I'm rambling. Anybody have any ideas as to why all of a sudden my ears are turning against me?

Vehicle Tracking - Smorty Post

Well, as most of you know, my step-son did not move with us. He remained with his mother to finish out his senior year in school. When we talked to him last night, he still has not finished the driving part of his drivers training. Therefore, he only has his permit and not his license yet. We are assuming that he is not getting his license because he was told that when he has a license, he needs to get a job. This kid is allergic to work and responsibility. It is good for us though, in a way, because the longer is takes for him to get his license, that's the longer it will be until we have to shell out money that we promised towards a vehicle.

For many reasons in addition to the ones listed above, especially the fact that we will be shelling out a lot of money towards a vehicle, I think we should definitely be entitled to know where he is during all times that he is driving the vehicle that we helped pay for. Some people would say it takes away privacy, but I figure that given the above circumstances a vehicle tracking device would be fair and justified.

Heads Or Tails *Pet(s) or Pet Peeves*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It is LOTS of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Heads-Pet(s) or Tails-Pet Peeves. Yeah... right... like I would pass up an opportunity to go on and on about my pets (like I don't do that enough already).

SO - pets it is... of course! ;-)

Well, you all know that I have my dogs... the trio of Border Collies... the ones that my blog is named after, cuz, well, they keep me sane. They love me unconditionally; no matter what I say to them, it is the most brilliant thing they have ever heard; and I always look absolutely gorgeous in their eyes, no matter if I'm dressed up to go out or if I'm wearing a baggy t-shirt and sweats; Oh, and even if they saw me five minutes ago, well they run to me like they haven't seen me for years.

We have Tag:
Next to Daddy, the skid loader, and any other piece of equipment which has wheels... Well, Tag really does love me... he just doesn't want to ruin his reputation. And, trust me... he has quite the reputation. He's the one known as "that dog", and it isn't said in a friendly tone. He scares the living sh*t out of everyone. I rescued Tag from the local Animal Protective League. I don't think that he has or ever will forget his 'old not-so-good' life, and therefore, he is rather... ok, VERY protective of what he has now.

Then we have Molly.... a.k.a. Molly-Collie... a.k.a. Mo-Co... a.k.a. Mo (She'll pretty much answer to anything, especially if you have a ball in your hand)
She is my heart & soul... the love of my life (besides the husband, of course. OK, sometimes more than the husband, but she and I keep that as our secret). I rescued Molly in July of 2004. Tag had been rescued in May of 2004, and Tag made the choice that he was Daddy's dog through and through. Well, I pouted, stomped my feet, through a temper tantrum, whined, and complained. So, as a birthday present, my aunt paid towards the adoption fee for Molly. My aunt has already called my husband and told him that she was calling to apologize. When my husband asked her why, she replied "Because when something happens to that dog, your wife is going to be an absolute mess, and I'm the one who helped her get that dog, so I'm apologizing now." Yes, anyone who sees Molly and me together knows instantly that we can't live without each other. I love her more than words can express, and I truly feel that loved returned to me by her everyday.

And then... we have the puppy. Oh yes, the evil, rotten, spoiled, crazy, if-she-weren't-so-damn-cute-she-wouldn't-get-away-with-nearly-as-much puppy... Maggie May.
This is what she looked like when we couldn't resist the cute little ball of fur... little did we know... that it would turn into this...
A little gangly monster, who seems as if she will never grow into her giant ears. A little monster who must chew on everything from sticks to dirt, plastic bottles to paper towels, and the occasional cicada and baby snapping turtle thrown in for good measure. Ah yes, she is truly a puppy though and through. On a side note, Maggie a.k.a. Doodles (short for Puppy-Doodles) was also a rescue. A lady purchased her at 6 weeks, and by week 10, she couldn't handle the puppy anymore because when her 2 year old pulled on the puppy's tail or fur, well, the puppy turned around and pulled back. Ahhhh, never-mind, I'm not even going to start, because then this will truly be a Heads AND Tails post because we will start on one of my pet peeves. Anyway, I just found out that this same lady, just last week, went and picked up a new puppy... a Burmese Mountain Dog! Ahahahaha, so, I'm just waiting to see when I add a Burmie to my pack ;-)

Now, I was going to add the other dogs that I have had and loved, but I changed my mind, as I get really sad, and I don't want to do that.

So, on to the other pets.

We have Mokey and her kittens.
Mokey is... ummmm.... well... how do I say this nicely? Ok, Mokey is a tramp! The cat was born to reproduce. She had new 'friends' after we moved before I even had my address memorized. Oh well, I love her. She is the only cat that my husband has ever shown a true fondness for (she's lucky for that).

This is my favorite of her kittens... I call it Mini-Moke... hehe, cuz it looks just like its mama
And, we have The Gray Kitty (cuz I can't come up with a better name LOL)
And, last, but not least, we have Skitty (This kitten is named after a couple of different beings... it's named after Skittish, who was my partner-in-crime's favorite buddy from Mokey's last litter. Skittish was black too. And, it is named after Skittles, my newfound friend, blogging and otherwise. And, I like "Skitty" cuz it's got 'kitty' in it... hehehehe, clever, I know)

And there you have it! My pets. Just be glad that I didn't post all of my previous pets, or any of the 'special' sheep or calves ;-) And be VERY glad I didn't post about my pet peeves (that would be one heck of a ranting post!)

Ashop Commerce - Smorty Post

Some of you probably know that I have a website on which I sell my custom Italian Photo Charms. When I started making the charms to sell, it was a learning curve, because it was something that I had never before done. Little did I know that creating the charms would turn out to be the easy part. It was when I decided to have a website to sell the charms is when I got to the difficult part. My head was spinning with all the choices, all the technical terms, and how to make it all work. Thank goodness, I had my partner-in-crime to help me. She was familiar with all of this stuff, and I was not. Together, we got through it and created the website, complete with a handy shopping cart to make the customers have an easier time with their orders. I wish that someone would have told me about Ashop Commerce. They offer award winning shopping cart software. They even provide a demo store so that you can see exactly how to use their online store building software. This really would have made things easier for someone like me who had no clue what she was doing!

If you want to set up an online business, this company's ecommerce software makes it easy to get your own shopping cart

GO TRIBE!

Myspace Graphics - Cleveland Indians

Glitter Text Graphics - http://www.sparklee.com

Anyone who knows me well knows that I LOVE my precious Cleveland Indians. I mean, I truly love them. I am not one of those fair-weather fans, who only follows and cheers for a team when they are playing well. Oh no, I love my Indians even when they aren't winning.

Yesterday, in between all the work on the basement... I would run inside to the computer and hover over the speaker listening... waiting... WoooooHooooo Game Over! The INDIANS have taken the Central Division Title! WoooooHooooo

I proceed to run/skip/make a mad dash outside, where I promptly grab Molly-Collie's front paws and begin dancing around the yard with her, as I sing "We Are The Champions. Weeeee are the Champions" Finally, my husband says "Honey, please. We get it." Guess I was a little off key ;-) Oh well, it was kind of like when my partner-in-crime and her husband went to a game and received a free Jhonny Peralta bobble-head. They promptly brought it over to me. Partner-In-Crime-Hubby placed the precious bobble-head doll in my hands and I began jumping up and down and dancing in the yard exclaiming "I've got JaaaHonny! I've got JaaaHonny!" Now, he proudly adorns the top of my file cabinet (The bobble-head doll, not partner-in-crime hubby), in my office, where I spend most of my time - JaaaaHonny watches over me with his smiling, bobbling head.

Now, I think that I need this... I have to show my pride ya know!

You know what the greatest thing is? They will now be playing on national television! I will be able to WATCH them! I will see every swing of the bat... oh yes, I will definitely be throwing all the phones out in the front lawn - I will NOT be interrupted! I have been going through terrible withdrawals, and now I will be able to get my Tribe Fix!!! WhooooHooooo

We are the champions. Weeeeee are the champions. Oh, sorry (blush)

My House Is Shaking, Things Are Moving, I'm Going Outside!

When we moved in here, we knew that were going to be several things that we would have to do to this place. One of the first concerns is that two of the cement block walls in the basement had buckled and were caving in.

Well... that's what we've been working on this past week. My husband has been putting posts and jacks throughout the basement so that he could start removing the wall. I'm not ashamed to tell you that it's all making me nervous!

I sit upstairs and the floors, walls, everything starts shaking and moving. If I go to the basement, I realize that the house above me is being held up by posts, and I envision it all falling down... scary! I think I should go for a long... very long walk... this is making me very anxious and jumpy!

Protector, Loyal Companion, & Hard-Working Farm Hand

Saturday 8

I was at Skittles Place and she had been at The Daily Meme and found a meme called Saturday 8. So, I decided to do it too.

When was the last time...

  1. A restaurant was out of the food you wanted? About three years ago - for my birthday, I wanted my husband to take me to a restaurant where I got a munchie sampler... you could choose what you wanted on the sampler and I always got fried clam strips, mozzarella sticks, and popcorn shrimp. It was the only restaurant around that offered fried clam strips. UNTIL that birthday! I made my order and was informed that they were no longer offering fried clam strips on the menu. I was SO disappointed, I had really psyched myself up and looked forward to this!
  2. You were dumped/divorced by a significant other/spouse? My first marriage ended in so much confusion, that I'm not really sure who decided it was over. Yep, I was married before...didn't know that, did ya?!?!
  3. You were denied a promotion? I don't usually work for companies big enough to try for a promotion
  4. You didn't get the job you applied for? I didn't get two jobs that I applied for after I moved here, didn't even get an interview. Later, my aunt-in-law was told that it was because I was over qualified.
  5. A friend canceled a lunch date (or other meeting) on you? Only when my best-friend in Ohio would have to cancel lunch if one of her children became ill.
  6. Someone took credit for something YOU did? All the time (my husband is really bad for that!)
  7. An appliance (or something in your home) broke? Does the adapter for my laptop count? By the way, for anyone who is wondering, the new one DID come in the mail today!!! Wooohoooo - I've got my little family of Firefox tabs back ;-)
  8. You were denied something credit-related? (loan, credit card, a rental, etc.) We haven't applied for anything for quite a while.

Warning-Post Full of Rants, Complaints, & Whining

I knew I missed the animals more than I realized! Why? Because usually, I can deal with the animals better than I can deal with people!

I'm ready to explode!

As you all know, I am trying desperately to prove that I can succeed at working from home. Well, I have no interest, and I start to get depressed and feel rather scared.

Now, that I have several things lined up that I can do from home to earn money - well, I can't freaking get any of it done! Why? Because I'm doing running for things other than work.

But, this working at home thing isn't really working out for Misty, because she isn't earning enough - HOW CAN I???

In the midst of all of this, my laptop starts acting funny. It would stop charging and then the cord to the adapter would get really hot! I finally figured out that the cord had been bent (I bought the laptop used). It had been bent to the point that the wires were sticking out... not good. I was able to twist and turn it enough to get it to charge the laptop for a couple days. Meanwhile I ordered a new adapter... hoping that it would get here before the other one died for good. Nope, the existing adapter died yesterday... won't even put electric to the laptop, let alone charge it. Of course, the one I ordered isn't here yet... so, I'm sitting here with a laptop that has a completely dead battery.

I'm doing everything on the desktop, which I hardly ever use. So, of course, it's not set up the way I want my computer. I've had to re-find all of the links that I open each day, because they were bookmarked on my laptop, but not on this computer. Let me tell ya - I have now realized how much I have come to LOVE Firefox! Oh, I miss my Firefox friend and it's little family of tabs!

On a better note, I've had LOTS of people notice my Italian Charm key chain, and lots of them want to purchase some as gifts. One lady asked me to bring some business cards to her little convenience store, so she could display them. Well, I took the cards there today, and there was a different girl working. I set my keys on the counter to reach in my pocket to get the business cards, so I could explain that I was told I could display them there. Immediately, she said "Oh MY GOSH. That key chain is SO cool! Where did you find that? Please tell me where you got it, cuz I want one!" I waited for her to stop rambling and explained that's what the business cards were for LOL But, of course, I can't even be too excited about the possibility of some customers, because, as I've heard over and over the past few days/weeks... "It's not guaranteed monthly income, so it's not worth getting excited about"

Oh my, I'm awfully whiny today, aren't I? I better stop now, or y'all will avoid my blog like the plague! I just needed to rant for a while. I'm better now, thanks.

Just A Few Photos

My very good friend tells me that this is a Skipper butterfly on this flower. And, my daddy tells me that this is a Passion flower. Ya see, I just take the pictures. My friend Bear and my dad ID everything for me! You should go check out Bear's Blog. His link is under my Regularly Visited Section. His blog is Ashrunner's Rants, and he has lots of interesting stories! This is a Monarch butterfly.

Believe it or not, this guy is harmless... but... well, see my previous Embarrassing Moment story to hear how I'm feeling about spiders right now!

Ain't he cute???

Get Paid To Blog With Smorty

As many of you know, I've been trying to find new ways to earn money from home via the internet. I've looked into and applied to many places where you can get paid for blogging. Well, I've applied to many of these places and have not yet found out if I am approved. Then, I read a post that Bridget at And Miles To Go Before We Sleep wrote about Smorty. I applied to Smorty this morning and figured I'd have to be patient for awhile until I would find out if my blog was approved or not. I was amazed this afternoon when I received notification that my blog had been approved to do blog advertising! Not only was I amazed, but I was, and still am, excited and thankful for this opportunity. I'm also very grateful to Bridget for the post that she wrote!

This opportunity is wonderful, because all you do is write an opinion article for the advertiser and link back to their site. Well, as all of you know by now, I'm certainly full of opinions! This is going to be great, because I will be able to start to blog for money, but I will be able to do it without being restricted in my posts. So, I can still keep my blog fun and interesting, which I certainly hope that all of you think that it is!

So, if you would like to learn more about taking advantage of this great opportunity, then check them out!

Chalk Up Another Embarrassing Moment For Me!

Ya know when you do something really moronic, and then you quickly look around, hoping that no one saw what you just did?

Well, I have those moments often. Here's the most recent...

After we moved here, my husband was bit by a Brown Recluse spider. His ankle swelled up huge, turned colors, etc. I was searching the internet to see what we should do, and was horrified by the photos I saw of what could happen as a result of these bites. Luckily, he healed without any major problems.

About a week ago, he was bit by something again. It also swelled up and got me to worrying (I'm a worrier). Luckily, again, it healed fine.

Well, let me tell ya, I have never in my life been afraid of a spider. Nope, not afraid of spiders or snakes. Now that I know those nasty poisonous spiders are around this area and what their bites can do to a person... well, now its always in the back of my mind.

So, I was doing laundry. As I go down the steps to the basement, I quickly scan the concrete floor looking for 'killer spiders'. I proceed down the steps, and as I approach the washer, something starts 'crawling' on my foot. Well...

I jumped in the air about as high as the washing machine... Really, you should have seen it - it was a fabulous jump. Amazing what adrenaline can do to ya. As I leap in the air and scream a few words that I shouldn't type on here, I kick my leg as hard as I can to 'kick-off' whatever may be sitting on my foot. Well, in the process, I kick the washing machine... which caused me to scream a few more words that I shouldn't type on here.

When I landed on the ground, I frantically looked down to see what was on my foot... nothing. What? I felt the damn thing crawl on my foot! I DID NOT imagine this. Then, I see it...

An innocent toad was sitting there looking at me, probably wondering why in the world this woman comes to the basement to kick the washing machine. He probably thought it was some strange human mating ritual or something.

I proceeded to quickly look around to make sure no one saw my most recent actions... yeah, right, like there's someone hiding in the corner of my basement just hoping I'll come down and make an idiot of myself.

Then, I proceeded to load the laundry into the washing machine, and I cursed at and lectured the toad the whole time.

So, I left the toad in my basement, of course... You know, so he can eat all the spiders!

Heads or Tails Tuesday *Keys*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It's gonna be lots of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Key(s)

Hmmmm, this is a tough one - so it will probably be a short post... ah, yes, I know you aren't used to such a thing from me!

The importance of keys in my life now is kind of ironic.

You see, the house keys are not very important, because... well, the house isn't finished, and if someone wanted to get in here, it would not be too difficult. But we don't worry too much about someone coming here unannounced cuz... well... we've got Tag a.k.a. That dog, as the neighbors so kindly refer to him. Poor Tag, always gets a bum rap, cuz no one gets to know him the way we do ;-) (Right LMQ? He's just misunderstood)

The keys to my vehicle are not as important as they used to be, because I hardly ever go anywhere anymore because...

I'm too busy at home typing on the keys on my computers. Those are the keys that have the most importance for me right now. (How's that for a heads or tails flip-flop) Since both my desktop and my laptop seem to be slowly dying, soon I will be in search of the key to convincing my husband that I need a new computer!

I realize this isn't one of the better posts I've done... but, hey, that Skittles... she's tough! :-) If you have time, check out the post below this one about "The Rough & Tough Farm Gang" - I'm rather proud of that post.

The Rough & Tough Farm Gang

Y'all have read the newspapers and heard the horrifying stories of the city gangs...

Well that ain't nuthin!

Meet...
The Rough & Tough Farm Gang
Feared by farmers all over the world

Gang Name: Smiley
His Motto: Smile, and they'll wonder what you're up to
Gang Name: Q-Tip
Despite the constant razzing of the fellow gangers, he'll never conform and cut his 'do'

Gang Name: KO
He's been in one too many gang-fights, but he's still standing

Gang Name: Booger Eater
He knows deep down that the others are just jealous of his special talent

Gang Name: Nosey
She can smell a farmer from a mile away
Gang Name: Wicked
Just one look at him and his enemies turn and run

This gang thrives on their ability to fool the unsuspecting, acting all cute and innocent.

Meanwhile, they devise their plans to take over all the farms in the world. There aren't many photos of their meetings, because they are top-secret and take place in secret barn hideouts.

Be afraid... be very afraid... because soon...
they will take over a farm near you!
