What the Heck???

What's going on???
I got home yesterday evening...
Tag has taken off down the road twice today;
My husband woke me up this morning telling me that the desktop computer was "dead - won't even boot up";
After several hours of working on the desktop to get it working again, I unpacked a ton of stuff we brought back with us, and thought I would start getting caught up on my blogs... (I only got through the 'A's)
I got a phone call at 9 p.m. asking me to go in and work tomorrow at the insurance company... so I'm scrambling to get stuff together and done for tomorrow since I won't be here!
Please tell me that this is NOT a sign of what the new year is going to be like!
Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm happy to be 'home' or not...

On a side note, I was missing my daddy terribly last night... then, this morning, trying like heck to get the desktop running again... in the middle of all of it, I put an ice cube in my cup of coffee (I don't like it too hot) and the ice cube blew up and spit coffee all over the place! I finally just screamed "I think we are supposed to go back 'home' NOW!" Honestly, I'm not upset - it's just all very ironic. LOL - I'll talk to ALL of you very soon!

I'm Baaaaack

Yes, I'm back. We got in this evening... exhausted and completely tired of driving/riding.

I was rather proud of myself because I remained strong and did not shed a single tear when it was time to leave. Then... we got home, and I was putting some things away that my dad had sent with us... I found a note he had left for me... then the tears started and wouldn't stop. I'll be OK - I expect this will probably happen after each visit. I love the area we are living in now (even if I do make jokes about it), I just miss my family and friends... besides, I'm over 30 years old and still a COMPLETE daddy's girl and can't change that ;-) It doesn't help that I haven't slept much at all for several days, so I'm easily emotional.

Anyway, starting tomorrow, I've got A LOT of catching up to do on everyone's blogs! I've missed ALL of you SO much! I can't wait to get caught up on everything and back into the 'normal' blogging routine!

So, just give me one more night (I've GOT to get some rest), and I'll start catching up tomorrow... talk to you then!

Happy Holidays!

It's been hectic and crazy here, but I'm not complaining, because I have seen my dad every single night for the past FOUR nights! I'm SO happy about that!

It's so great to see everyone in my family! Tomorrow, we are having our get-together with Aunt and Uncle J, LMQ and LMK - I can't wait!!!

I've been absolutely spoiled rotten by Aunt L, with this gorgeous laptop I am using to make this post!!! Yep, you read it - we got here Wednesday night, and Aunt L was knocking on the door before the sun had come up on Thursday morning to go shopping for a new laptop. Don't worry, I do NOT ever disagree with anyone when they comment that I am spoiled.

We are spending ALL of Christmas day with my daddy, his girlfriend, and the wolf :-) Yes, Misty is a happy girl!

Then, Wednesday, my step-daughter is coming to see us and going to spend the night with us.

It's all so wonderful, but it is all going TOO fast!!! We are supposed to be leaving to head back home on Thursday or Friday!!!

I promise to be posting more next week - It will be back to normal, and I'll be regularly visiting everyone's blogs again! I miss you all!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Forget About Me?

I'm here (finally)! I've missed you all terribly... to the point of going through some major withdrawals from visiting all of you!

Where do I start?
Thursday morning, at approximately 7 a.m., our electric went out. That wouldn't be such a big deal, except for the fact that we have electric heat and didn't have a generator readily available. Thursday night was a loooooong and cccccold night! I slept in three pairs of sweat pants, three longsleeve shirts (one of which was a hooded sweatshirt, and I had the hood on my head all night long), socks AND slippers, with three blankets on top of me! Did I mention that it was quite ccccccold? Friday morning, I got up and went to town... I had a lot of errands to run... one of which was to pay my electric bill HA!!! How ironic! I spent as long as I could in the warm electric company, bank, and little department store... I think they were getting ready to throw me out. I kept using my cell phone to call my house while hoping the answering machine would pick up, which would mean our electric was back on... no such luck.

So, I finally went home... I had finally reached the breaking point... I was shivering, and I couldn't decide if I wanted to be mad and curse or if I just wanted to cry... I get like that when I'm tired and cold. So, Hubs got home, and we went to my in-law's house to spend the night there (their electric was on). They are in warmer climate for the Winter, so we were just 'borrowing' their warm house for the night.

I booted up their computer... which took FOR-EV-ER... because I desperately needed to work on eight assignments for a final exam which is due tomorrow. After the computer finally booted up, Hubs asked if he could use it for a minute. While he was on the computer, I thought I would be a smart a**, and I called our house... I about passed out when our answering machine picked up!!! I went down the hall exclaiming "Stupid Murphy's Law!!!" Hubs asked, "What?" I said "Well, I just heard my cute and sexy voice on our answering machine." It took him a little bit (he can be slow sometimes) but then it clicked... You mean we have electric now??? Yes, Dear, we have electric now. So, I took a shower at his aunt's house (next door), and we packed everything back up and came home.

I was not meaning to neglect everyone yesterday, but I really needed to focus my attention on those assignments for the final exam... submitted the last assignment today (Yay for me!) Then, I needed to print out some transfers so I can make 15 tote bags tomorrow to take with us. I also had to make my BBFF's Christmas present (Shhhhhh don't tell her! Oh... she reads my blog??? Are you sure??? Oh well... maybe she won't know who my BBFF is hehehe), and I've got lots of preparations to do for the trip! And, we have to throw into the mix the fact that my laptop finally died... D.I.E.D. died... it's done. So, I'm using the eight year old desktop, which is all set up the way Hubs wants it, and it takes me forever to get it situated for me.

I've got TONS more photos, but I imagine after the last post, you have probably had enough of looking at ice photos for awhile.

Anyway - I just wanted to let you know that I'm here. I probably won't have much time to visit many blogs, due to getting ready for the trip and then leaving for the trip, but I will do my best to sneak in here any chance I get! After Christmas, it will be back to normal (I hope... I truly hope)!

I also want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to send me an e-mail to check on me! I truly appreciate that! The friendships I have discovered through blogging are absolutely priceless to me - you all mean SO much!

My Ice World

I skated ventured my way outside today to get some photos of my ice world to share with you. When you walk outside, the world seems void of color. Everything is white or shades of gray.
Ice... ice... everywhere... ice.
Our barbed wire fence provided for some beautiful photos though (in my opinion).
Everything seems to be frozen in time... void of color and void of movement.
The red metal fence posts truly stand out as they add a touch of color.
Even the stray strands of grass are individually encased in a new home of ice.
I bet my husband is thankful he hooked my dryer up and avoided his clothes being freeze-dried.Ice Winter wonderland
Mokey takes a moment to say 'hello'...in between trying to get this cold stuff off her paws.

Ten On Tuesday *What I Want For Christmas*

For This week's Ten on Tuesday you are supposed to list 10 things you want for Christmas. Well, I'm sure that most of you know what my top few are ;-)

10 Things I want for Christmas
1. A new laptop
2. A digital SLR camera
3. A safe trip to and from Ohio for our visit
4. Plenty of time with friends and family during the visit without it becoming too hectic trying to fit in all the visits and plans
From this point forward - is all pretend-if-I-could-have-anything stuff...
5. My house to be finished (not gonna happen by Christmas, but this is all hypothetical, right? I mean, I'm just pretending here!)
6. Ability to run a Dog Rescue (Remember, hypothetical and pretend hehehe)
7. A pool table (eventually... but won't be a reality by Christmas)
8. For Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Cancer, and Alzheimer's to be non-existent anymore.
9. More Virtual Assistant Clients
10. More Paid Blogging and Freelance Writing opportunities (Can I say that I want the big 'G' to get a big ol' lump of coal in the stocking? Here's your PR!)

Gee, I don't wish for much, do I?!?! LOL

Heads Or Tails *In the Sky or In the Water*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It is LOTS of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Heads - anything in the Sky or Space. Or, there is also a Tails topic - anything in or under the water.

Well, I'm going to combine the two a little bit and quite quickly tell you why my Heads or Tails is not going to be very fabulous this week.

Last night, throughout the night, we had freezing rain come from the sky and cover our trees and ground. So, technically, the tree branches are under a sheet of frozen water... along with the roads, vehicles, etc.
The freezing rain is expected to continue coming from the sky, and we are also supposed to have Thunderstorms in the sky, which will cause more rapid ice accumulation and pretty much ensure that everything else is under about an inch of frozen water a.k.a. ice.

My aunt-in-law just called a little while ago to tell us that she has no electric. Shortly after that conversation, our electric started going on and off. Therefore, chances are very strong that I will not get to visit all of the Heads or Tails participants today, like I usually do. If I don't, I will catch up with all of you tomorrow.

I am going to post more photos on Misty's Words for my Heads or Tails post on that blog. As you can see from this photo - we have been lucky so far, because we still have electric and no big limbs down yet. Since the storm is supposed to continue until midnight, I'm hoping that we continue to be lucky.

I've Got An IDEA

As the title says, I've got an idea, and I think it's a good one ;-)

I want to start something... kind of like a meme, but not really a meme... I just want to try something and I'm not sure how to go about all of it, so here I sit typing to y'all and hoping that you will give me lots of feedback and ideas. PLEASE - input people! I need input (cuz, in case I didn't mention it - I think this is a good idea).

I want to start a weekly post that has to do with books... since it seems that the majority of us love to read, I think this would be both beneficial and fun.

Here's my thoughts for now (they are very rough ideas - that's where y'all come in)...
I could either start a meme where whoever joins makes a post about a book recommendation each week, wherein they can include a review or some information about the book like the general plot, genre, etc.
Or, I could just do a post each week about a book I've read and then a follow-up post of people's comments either on that book or recommendations for similar books. My only concern with this second choice is I tend to mostly read a certain genre (not always, but mostly), so it wouldn't be as diverse as if everyone participated.

Anyway - those are my thoughts.
I don't know if this would be of interest to anyone or not - so I'm going to see if I get any feedback about it, and then go from there.
Technically, I should do this on my other blog, since it is all about writing and photography, but that blog does not have near as much traffic as this one. Obviously, if I am going to attempt something like this, I want it on the blog with traffic so I will have participants :-)

Please give me some feedback - let me know if you would want to participate in something like this, or if you just have too many other blog-things you participate in. And, if you do like the idea, then please shoot out some ideas of what you think would make it fun and great and worthwhile.

OK, now...
go type that comment to me!

Give Me Five Monday *Christmas/Holiday Cards*

My friend Becca started a new Monday meme called Give Me Five Monday. The 'Give Me Five' Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here's how it works. Each week, she will put out a random topic from her list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back to her! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn't have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified. Go over to BeccA's Buzz and check it out!

This weeks topic is Christmas/Holiday Cards. We are allowed to give any five things about this topic. Mine is going to be very random things.

1. EVERY year, we say we are going to send out Christmas cards, and EVERY year, we end up not following through with that statement. It just seems like there are so many other things to do.

2. I print all of my cards. I'm all about creating custom and personalized items, and I'm all about creating things with the computer. Therefore, my cards are always printed from the computer or e-cards.

3. I love to receive cards with updated photos of the families. Those photos are something you can keep forever, and I think they are very special.

4. My aunt always sends me and e-card and buys me a very beautiful Christmas card.

5. You know those cards that you put money in? Those are really nice cards, aren't they? ;-)

The Weekend

It's been quite the busy weekend...
We went out to play pool Friday night, and, I must admit, I was kicking some major booty, y'all. I won six out of ten games against the Hubs!!! WoooHooo for me! I should have bet on a laptop! Then, one of the guys that we know pretty well came over and asked if we would mind playing partners with him and his girlfriend. We said sure. Well, we had no idea that this girlfriend takes competition very seriously. She kept getting mad and yelling and telling me that she was a very sore loser... ummm, yeah, you didn't really need to clarify that for me, I kind of already had that figured out. Then, she started yelling "I'm drunk! I'm done! I don't like to lose!" Well, OK then! So, that was that LOL

Saturday, the Hubs went to an auction with his brother-in-law, and I started in on the messy bedroom. I came to the conclusion that I have WAY too many clothes. But, they are all so beautiful, and I can't stand the thought of parting with them... especially when I still don't know if the making money from home thing is going to work out. If it doesn't, then I'll need all those dress clothes. Except for the rather large collection of billowy skirts... You see, it's quite windy here... almost all the time. The billowy skirts get, ummm, VERY billowy when the wind catches them - I end up doing my own version of Marilyn Monroe. Hubs got home and helped me with the bedroom. He started counting my sweaters... Yeah, well, I love sweaters. They are pretty, and they are warm. Then, he was counting my deer sweatshirts... Hey! Back off the deer sweatshirts Hubs! They have deer on them - what else needs to be said? But I really had to draw the line when he said "Do you really need ALL these Cleveland Indians shirts??? I mean, Misty, you have like 15 Cleveland Indians shirts." My reply - "Yes, I do! And, I need even more! Do NOT touch the Cleveland Indians shirts - you might get fingerprints on them or something!"

Then, he hooked up the dryer in the basement (finally). When I threatened to make him immediately put on a pair of jeans right after I took them off the ice covered clothesline, he decided that I should have my dryer hooked up. (Thanks for the motivating suggestion LMQ!)

Yesterday, was mostly a lazy day. I spent a lot of time drooling over looking at laptops online... and reading the 'great deals' aloud to my husband. I'd follow it up with "Just sayin". I also got to talk on instant messenger to a very good friend, whom I hadn't had a chance to chat with for awhile. That was fun, although the laptop kept overheating and shutting down... luckily he knew about my laptop troubles, and realized what was happening, rather than thinking I was just very rude ;-)

So, that was my weekend. Next weekend, we will be busy getting things ready for the trip... I'm so excited to see everyone, but I just hope that it doesn't turn into a big hectic headache trying to fit in all the visits and plans into such a short amount of time.

Misty and the Crew Shakin' It For You!

Bringing you a some holiday entertainment from Misty and the furkids...
I had WAY too much fun with this!
Enjoy!

Can't Wait!

Happy Holidays

I'm here - I'm here! Just trying to get things done in between laptop meltdowns. Plus, Hubs and I have a lot of preparations to complete before we head back to visit my family for Christmas! A little over a week and I'll be seeing my family and friends!!! WoooooHoooooo

Things that I am very excited about:
1. Gonna see my daddy! I'm gonna see my daddy! Yippee! And my wolf-boyfriend... Yay!!!
2. Gonna see my aunt! WoooooHoooooo
3. Gonna see Aunt & Uncle J and LMQ & LMK! (and LuLu! and, hopefully, LMQ's Bro)!! Oh boy oh boy oh boy
4. I'm also going to see my best friend (other than LMQ & Tammy) and surprise her daughter. Her daughter is in Kindergarten and is always saying "Mommy, I really miss Aunt Misty". The other day, she said "Mommy, I talk to God every night and I ask him to take care of my Aunt Misty because I never get to see her or talk to her anymore." So, we haven't told this sweetheart that I am coming - we are going to surprise her.
5. Get to see my step-daughter... she and I make quite the pair (Yes, she's the one we took to Nashville - there are still many, many stories that I could tell you about that trip). Also going to see my step-son. Probably won't see the oldest step-daughter.
6. I'm also going to see my boss, my cousins, aunts and uncles, friends, old neighbors, and more.
7. The bestest pizza and chip dip and our favoritest restaurant! And, I'm gonna buy a Whopper every time I pass a Burger King! Oh yeah!

There's more... but my laptop is starting to make that funny noise and get real hot... I'll be back in a little while to catch up on everyone's blogs!

Dear Santy...

I'm writing to u about my Mommy. She's been a very good Mommy ALL year. She plays with us and gives us food and treats and lots of hugs and scratches and kisses. My Mommy wants a laptop, Santy. She's been sad becuz her other laptop gets reel hot and turns itself off. I just don't think it's fare of that thing to be so nasty to my Mommy! So, Santy, could u pleaz bring my Mommy a laptop for Christmus? Cuz, when Mommy is sad... we're all sad...
My Mommy uses the money she makes with her laptop to buy us food and treats and balls to play with. I tried to earn money for Mommy's laptop by doing some modeling, but I never got paid for it!
They said the check was lost in the mail, but I don't believe them, cuz me and Tag and Maggie looked everywhere for that check...
So, Santy, we'd really appreeshiate it if u could bring our Mommy a laptop so she will be happy again and can keep on bloggin'!
Love,
Mommy's Favorite Lap'Pups'
P.S. Tag says he's is very sorry for scaring all those hoomans who come to our house. He just can't help hisself. Maggie blames all of her rottenness on being a puppy. I, Molly (the pretty one in the above photo), well, I've been good all year. So, if you want to put a ball next to Mommy's laptop under the tree, we'll know who it's for... just sayin'.

Laptop and Weather Update

Just wanted to drop in for a quick post. I'm posting as I fill in at the insurance agency. Last night, my laptop shut itself down and wouldn't reboot :-( (So, Tammy, if you were looking for me, that's why I wasn't online). Now, it will boot up for about 1/2 hour or so, until it gets hot and then it shuts itself off. So, I have booted it up long enough to make sure I have everything backed up. Other than that, I'm pouting... seriously pouting (last night, I was in tears).

I may not make it home this evening. We've had a bad snowstorm this afternoon, and everyone is saying that the roads are absolutely horrible. So, if they are too bad to drive on, my brother-in-law who lives here in this town will come and get me, and I will stay with them tonight. I REALLY don't want to do that, because I just want to be at home, but it's better to be safe than sorry, I guess.

Forgive me for not visiting your blogs - I will visit as soon as I get a chance and am able to be at a computer that won't shut down on me. I miss you guys - don't forget about me ;-)

I'll Be In Mourning

My laptop - it's dying - slowly, but surely - it's dying. I purchased it used so it was inexpensive enough to justify the purchase to take it back and forth to work with me every day to complete school work - I could not have made it this far into my degree without this laptop - seriously... anyway...

You have already read my whining confessions that I now have permanent burns on my legs from this laptop. This is because whoever designed this laptop had drank a few too many or something. The fan to receive and circulate air is on the bottom of the laptop. Therefore, if you use it as a LAPtop, the computer receives no air and, as a result, heats up to temperatures hot enough to... well... leave permanent burns on the user's thighs. So, I now prop it up so the fan can receive air. However, the battery still heats up to high temperatures and... you guessed it... the battery is right next to the hard drive... what would that result in? A melted hard drive, of course!

Now, I will be sitting here reading blogs working diligently on a project, and, all of a sudden, the laptop just shuts down. That's.It. No warning - no error - no little guy popping up on my screen and telling me "We're sorry, but you are now going to lose everything you just worked so hard on - sucks to be you." Nothing - it Just.Shuts.Down. UGH! Can you hear my frustrations???

My husband's reply is that I do not need a new laptop, because if I got a new laptop, then I would basically be working for free for awhile until the laptop was paid for... whereas, right now, this crappy piece of junk laptop is already paid for, so whatever I earn while using it is money in the bank. That brings me to this question... how can I make any of that 'money in the bank' if this da*m, ignorant, devil-spawn laptop continues to quit working??? UGH! Can you hear my frustrations???

I am a creature of habit... a serious creature of habit and routine (yes, I'm calling myself a creature). I wake in the morning and follow the same steps to complete the same routine... it has to be done the same, or else, I'm out-of-whack for the whole day. Therefore, I have daily routines which revolve around my having a laptop to work on... if I no longer have a laptop to work on... well, then... I'll totally be out-of-whack!!! And, no one wants that!!!

My most prized material possessions are my camera and my laptop. I treasure them... I talk lovingly to them... I pamper them and tell them of all the joy they bring me... I whisper sweet words to them... OK - you get the idea! You could take away my TV... take away my furniture... take away my food... just don't take my camera or laptop away from me!!!

I've even come up with every way I can think of to keep the price of a new laptop as low as I can. I don't need any fancy software... I don't need many bells and whistles... I just need a laptop which will allow me to complete my Virtual Assistance work, blogging, and writing. Am I being selfish and greedy? Oh yes, now you see why I never purchase anything for myself... I put myself on the biggest guilt trip you could possibly imagine... I end up making myself feel completely selfish, greedy, and irresponsible, and therefore, the purchase is not made. (Kind of like I am doing to myself right now... a laptop is a material possession - an expensive material possession... I should quit my whining and be thankful for what I have... etc, etc.... Don't mind me, I'm busy putting myself on a guilt trip ;-)

Heads Or Tails Tuesday *Three*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It is LOTS of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is "Three". Well - if you know me at all - then you already know what my post is going to be about...
Introducing my favorite three...
Aren't they gorgeous???

HELP!!!

I don't know what happened...
I don't know why it happened...
I don't know how it happened...
I'm not even sure exactly when it happened...
but I need H.E.L.P.!!!

You know of some blogs have a pop-up window when you click to comment...
well, starting last night, when I click to comment and that pop-up window comes up, it is about an inch wide. I can see about three words of everyone's comments and my own when I'm trying a comment.

When I move the mouse to the edge of the comment window, the mouse does not turn into a sizing handle, so that won't fix it...
I've tried refreshing (didn't work)...
I've tried rebooting (didn't work)...
When I right click at the top of the comment window, the only option it gives me is to 'minimize'... nope, it's pretty much minimized enough.

This is driving me batty - I seriously cannot deal with only being able to read three words...

I figure SOMEONE out there in the blogosphere has to know what I can do to fix this... please, my fingers are crossed that someone can help me (it's hard to type with my fingers crossed - so please HELP.and.FAST...

Love,
the Freaking Out Blogging Addict a.k.a. Misty Dawn

Give Me Five Monday *Christmas Trees*

My friend Becca started a new Monday meme called Give Me Five Monday. The 'Give Me Five' Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here's how it works. Each week, she will put out a random topic from her list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back to her! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn't have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified. Go over to BeccA's Buzz and check it out!

This week's topic is all about Christmas trees. I'm late in posting today, because I was working at the insurance agency (I agreed to fill in whenever their administrative assistant couldn't be in the office). I'll also be working there tomorrow and Thursday, so please forgive me if I don't make it to everyone's blogs on those days.

Now, about those Christmas trees...
Since we won't be putting up a Christmas tree this year, because we will be traveling out of state to celebrate Christmas (and because my house is tore apart and there wouldn't be any room for a tree, if I were going to put one up), I'm going to tell you about some my traditions centered around the Christmas tree.

1. When I was growing up, we always put the Christmas trees up the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, I said "trees". We would get one real tree that went in our TV room, and we had a four-foot artificial tree that stood on the table in our living room.

2. My grandma was the one who put the lights on the tree. That was the tradition - Grandma would take a break from her cooking or whatever else she was doing to come in and put the lights on the tree.

3. After Grandma put the lights on the tree, it was time for the ornaments (my favorite part). When I was growing up, there were five ceramic ornaments, which were my favorite ornaments. They were Daffy Duck, a rocking horse, Elmer Fudd, Raggedy Ann, and Andy. It was always tradition that I was the one to put these five particular ornaments on the tree. As a child, I always thought this was the tradition simply because they were my favorite ornaments. When I became an adult and was moving out, my aunt brought me those ornaments and told me they were mine. It was then that I found out my dad had specially ordered those ornaments to be made for me the first Christmas after I had gone to live with my grandparents (when I was 2 years old). Obviously, those are still my favorite ornaments, and NO ONE but me is permitted to hang them on the tree.

4. While my aunt, grandma, and I put the tree up and decorated it, we would have Christmas music playing, and my grandpa would be sitting in his chair helping me pick out which ornaments I should hang next.

5. After the tree was finished, we would turn off all the lights, except for the Christmas tree lights. Then, I would climb into Grandpa's lap, we would look at the tree and look for any empty spaces that needed ornaments. If there were empty spaces, I would run to the tree to lovingly fill that place with an ornament. I would then return to my grandpa's lap for the evening, while we looked at the tree and made up silly words to the Christmas songs.

A Long Meme

I know I just did a meme for my last post, but my favorite Moron of all, Tammy, just contacted me to let me know she tagged me for another meme. Since she's my BBFF, and she means the absolute world to me, I'm going to do this meme... right now... immediately... for her :-)

1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now? Irish Spring

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator? Nope - it's Winter-time

3. What would you change about your living room?
It would be finished!!! I would have casing around the windows so I could hang some curtains, and the wind wouldn't blow in around the windows and make me freeze. My husband would drop the whole idea about tearing all the paneling and mortar off the walls (it's a really old house)... as I said - it would be finished.

4. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
My dishwasher is sitting, still in the box, in the equipment building. I used to tease my husband that if we ever built a house, he would have to build it around my dishwasher... so, when we moved here, he insisted on getting me a dishwasher... it's just not in our house yet.

5. What is in your fridge? All kinds of stuff... cranberry juice, butter, salad dressings, condiments, pickles, beer, lunchmeat, etc, etc

Christmas Meme

I saw this meme over at Jolene's and Tammy's, so I swiped it - cuz that's how I am ;-)

  1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? - I use both. Gift bags are great for when I buy a last minute gift (like all of my gifts this year), and don't have time to wrap it.
  2. Real tree or artificial? - Artificial, although my husband prefers a real one.
  3. When do you put up your tree? We aren't this year (depressing, isn't it?) - but usually after Thanksgiving (the end of November)
  4. When do you take down the tree? Right after New Year's
  5. Do you like eggnog? I think so - I honestly don't know if I've ever tried it LOL
  6. Favorite gift received as a child? My computer desk from my grandpa
  7. Do you have a nativity scene? No - but I want one. I have a nativity scene ornament for my tree though. My grandma's nativity scene was always a favorite of mine when we decorated.
  8. Hardest person to buy for? My aunt... when she wants something, she just goes and gets it.
  9. Easiest person to buy for? My dad, because I know him so well, which usually results in my coming up with too many ideas for him, and no ideas for anyone else LOL
  10. Worst Christmas gift you received? ('scuse me ahahahahahaha LOL -I'm still cracking up over Tammy's answer!!!) my aunt bought me my first training bra (trust me-it didn't train anything, cuz I still don't have anything which requires me to own a bra LOL) - and she hung it on my stocking... how rude!
  11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Every year I say I'm going to send cards, but I never do. I usually do send some e-mail cards. And, if I have a gift card for someone, I will put it in a card I printed.
  12. Favorite Christmas movie? The Grinch - the original one and Santa Claus with Tim Allen
  13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? huh??? I was supposed to start already? It all depends. I'm really behind this year... really behind.
  14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No.
  15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My grandma used to make these cookie/candy-type things called Meringues. I used to watch where she hid them, so there would still be some for Christmas. On Christmas day, I would sneak in the closet and get them and go walking into the living room with the can full o meringues in my hand... I would literally get mobbed - I, being the littlest one in the family, would be on the bottom of the pile of aunts, uncles, and cousins. hehe. And, my dad's hot chocolate (it's the best and brings back special memories)
  16. Clear lights or colored lights on your tree? I like all the colors I can possibly get - I also like flashing/blinking/chasing lights. Unfortunately, my grandma and aunt couldn't stand blinking lights, and now I married a man who doesn't like them either.
  17. Favorite Christmas song? Silent Night (just like Tammy - go figure) - but I like LOTS of other ones too... so this is a very unfair question!
  18. Travel at Christmas or stay st home? This is the first visit to my family since the move - we're traveling!
  19. Can you name all Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen... but do you recaaaaaaaaaalllll - the most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph.
  20. Angel on top of tree or star? We have both - I make my husband pick between them each year
  21. Open presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? Well, we'll be opening with my aunts, uncles, and cousins on the 22nd (cuz of work schedule conflicts). With my dad it will be Christmas day. My husband and I dont' exchange gifts.
  22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The stress of getting everything done, and the money being spent. Oh, and I hate, hate, driving in Winter weather.
  23. What I love most about Christmas? Spending time with my family.

NaBloPoMo - Goal Accomplished

Isn't this badge absolutely adorable??? It was made by Subversive Cross Stitch, and I absolutely love it! I had no idea when I joined NaBloPoMo that I would end up getting such an adorable badge to put on my blog!!! I know, I know, it doesn't take much to get me excited... but it's a puuuuuuuppy dog... and you all know how much I LUUUUUUUUUVVV puppy dogs ;-)

By the way - I'm going to be having another HUGE and SPECTACULAR awards ceremony soon. I also have a list of memes I've been tagged for.

Reason for Changed Copyright

While I sit here wrapped up in a blanket, avoiding the severe ice storm going on in our little area of Missouri today (up to a half inch of ice expected), and feeling like someone is driving an ice pick into my ear (I think it finally turned into a full blown ear infection), I will tell you the story of why my copyright symbol now says Misty DawnS... that looks so dumb, doesn't it? I really need a logo or something - I'm open for suggestions. Anyway...

After reading posts about what searches people were using to get to my friends' blogs, I started attempting to find that information about my blog (which I haven't... yet). As I was looking over different sites in an attempt to find this often amusing information, I ended up at Technorati. As I glanced at a page, I saw a blog that linked to me which I didn't recognize... that's no big deal, the linky love, memes, and do follow lists really travel. Upon further investigation, I saw this blog linked back to EVERY post I've made in the past few weeks. Naturally, I went to check out the blog which was being so generous by linking to all my posts. The blog, my friends, is a blog about 'adult stars'. The domain name has that three letter 's' word in it... you know the one that guys never get enough of ;-) Apparently this blog thinks that I am a particular Misty Dawn, who has much bigger better assets that I.

There is an absolute knock out blond (I can hear those keys typing in the Google search box right now) named Misty Dawn. Trust me - the only thing that is similar about me and this hottie is our name! Now, she's not a 'porn' star, she is a 'glamour' and 'glamour-nude' photography model - which I honestly do not have a problem with, as long as it is not trashy (does that make sense? probably not). In fact, she is very beautiful and the majority of her photos are also very beautiful (they are NOT all of her being completely nude).

Anyway, I was laughing about this, and my husband asks "What's so funny?"
I said, "Well, I may be Misty Dawn, but unfortunately, I look nothing like that Misty Dawn!"
Hubs came and looked at the computer... and continued looking at the computer... with Hubs eyes still locked with that Misty Dawn's brea eyes... I finally broke the trance...
"OK Hubs, you get the idea"
"What? Oh I can't see it - there's a glare on the monitor or something. Try clicking on another page in the gallery and see if that helps."
"Suuuuuure Hubs, glare on the monitor.... riiiiiiight." LOL - Geesh... I guess he thinks this Misty Dawn is also extremely gullible! ;-)
