Camera-Critters #11

No, you don't have to tell me that this is not a critter. I'm very well aware of that.
However, this was created by critters and there will be baby critters in it.

You see, I was innocently trying to get a photo of these beautiful birds, better known as Baltimore Orioles. I was very surprised that they were not flying away like they always had in the past. Instead, they kept flying back and forth above my head and chattering at me. When I finally saw that nest, I realized that, DUH! They were trying to tell me to get away from their nest.

Now, you are probably wondering what the following photo is all about. I mean, it's not a good photo at all, right? You are EXACTLY right! It is NOT a good photo. It is my reason #752,021 why I need a professional DSLR with better-quality zoom lenses. You see, if I had that, you would be able to see those two birds, which I think are hawks... but I'm not really sure, cuz I didn't have that spectacular zoom lens (*wink*)....... *sigh*

I could talk to you about generators, but instead, I'm going to invite you to join Camera-Critters...
Do you want to join the Weekend Meme all about animal/critter photos? Clicking on the post header graphic will take you to the blog where you can sign in if you have made a post, and you can visit other Camera-Critters Captures. Or, clicking HERE will take you to the rules.

Hey Misty

Nice pictures and yes I think so too you need a new camera, so that will be reason #752,022. lol.

Mom Knows Everything

I bet there are adorable little baby critters in that nest. The picture of the birds on the hay bale is COOL!!!

Susan Demeter

Those are some great pics! I tried getting some shots of the local birds, but no luck for me this week. Instead I am featuring our Bunny :)

My entry is here

Have a great week ahead!

I love those nests...they're just so unique and artistic looking. Makes me think of a comfy hammock. Great post!

I have such a hard time posting comments on both your sites. That's why I haven't been commenting as much, sorry. I don't know what the deal is.

This Is My Blog - fishing guy

Just love the Oriol photos.

Crazed Nitwit

Great post Misty.
mines up now.

Great bird photos Misty!
I am so with you on wanting a new camera with a really great zoom! I felt the same way when I took my bird photo this week.
I think your photos are great though!

I can see the birds! But I still think you should have a new camera :)

These are great shots. And I know just what you mean about that zoom lens. I love my camera, but a stronger zoom and.... wha-hey! Possibilities are endless!

I hope you get some shots of the baby birds, because the parents are gorgeous!

Smalltown RN

I haven't seen any orioles here...those are gorgeous birds...well this is my first week for participating....mine is up....

fantastic nest photo! i hope there are young'uns inside :)

really love the birds on the bale as well, very cool shot!

Happy CC :) thanks so much for hosting!

That's a great looking nest - it looks like a hammock design to me. Nice picture of the two birds on the hay bale as well. I just joined. :)

Do keep watching them, you may get them in your lens during their flying sessions.

Jillie Bean (AKA Bubba's Sis)

The orioles are beautiful! I don't know that I've ever seen one before!

The only time I've been a Baltimore Orioles has been on a baseball field.

Great shots even if you don't have a prof. DSLR. And I think you are right those do look like hawks.

Heart of Rachel

I think those are great shots. They are lovely birds and I'm sure they are busy and excited to start their family.

Here's my entry this week.

As someone else who dreams, longs for a new camera with a serious zoom lens, I know all too well your frustration; but your efforts here are better than anything I can achieve.
That nest is a crazy one & the birds look quite exotic with their red chests. They are new too me, but then I am in the UK!

Have a good week

Birds don't hesitate to tell you off if you are in the way - but they are even ruder to cats. Not surprising really.
Lovely shots. If you go to the Monochromania link on Loose Ends, you will see the camera I call Max. It will do most things a DSLR will do all in one package.
Looks like you in for a busy day. Enjoy.

How fortunate you are to have Baltimore Orioles nesting. We only get to even see one or two per year as they are passing through. Great shots.

You and I both are still waiting on that DSL and accompanying lenses. :-(

Great shots, Misty! It's funny how the birds tried to tell you to go away. :D

Beautiful exotic birds. Nice of them to show you their nest - watch that space!

i beati

I'm ready to scream..My computer is soooo slow. I love how the biords posed for you on the bale- super as usual Have a spendid Week

wow, what an awesome shot of that nest! you know, I've lived in MD more than half of my adult life and I've never seen one of those elusive Baltimore Orioles! great series of shots!

Beautiful! I love their colors.

Oh yes, there are probably babies in that nest! The orioles will be very protective. Aren't they colorful birds?

I should also be posting a bird (or two) but nyay.... no good! So I simply posted some caged critters... poor critters... no wings to fly (talking bout my post eh?).

I love the birds... I love your bird photographs... you're lucky to see a lot of beautiful birds and capture them through your lenses. :)

I wanna have a Nikon d60 or something better that my dream d60.... sigh

A new camera is always a fun thing to get .. I say just do it

Very cool ‘critter’ post … (as always). I love the two birds in the last photo … though watching that nest should be lots of fun!

I enjoy Camera Critters each week, and I admire you getting around to visit everyone … especially with all that’s happening in your life. I do my best to do likewise, but some weeks are easier said than done. Maybe once my new computer arrives it will be simpler? Thanks for dropping by and for adding me to the ‘official’ Blog Roll. Patience is my middle name ;--)

I’m in the process of moving all my Blog Rolls to a new site to make Small Reflections load faster, but it’ll be up there soon with all my others.
Hugs and blessings,

That nest is well constructed I hope you can get some photos of the baby birds (with your new camera???)

hehe .. they were just hanging out at home! maybe you were being invited in :)

Linda aka Crafty Gardener

I would love to join camera critters and have my first offering up at The Gardener Side
Let me know if there is anything else I have to do.

Wonderful CC post! Orioles are such beautiful birds and your capture is a keeper.

Wow! Those little critters put a whole bunch of invested effort in the construction of that nest. Very impressive! (and well photographed!)

Lovingly ...

Mom Knows Everything

I have an award for my BBFF cuz me love her so much! ;o)

Hello Misty,

I think your photos are very nice, please do not underestimate your talent! These birds are lovely!

I also have a bird photo. My canari Robin! I'm sorry I'm late this week but my little dog Lily was very ill on Sunday, so I couldn't publish my photo on time. Fortunately she's doing fine now! :-)

Have a great week,

Greetings from Istanbul/Turkey,
