Camera-Critters #34

(c) Misty DawnS

I love, love, love this photo. hehe This is actually a photo of the side mirror on my dad's truck, and, of course, Matouk is in the back. Don't ask me why I'm so crazy about this photo, but as soon as I saw it, I immediately loved it.

Please forgive me for the lack of sign-in on last week's CC, and also please forgive me for posting CC late today. Honestly, I didn't realize that it was even Saturday. My schedule is way out of whack. After getting home from shopping with my aunt, I opened my e-mail and Tammy reminded me that it was Saturday and I hadn't opened Camera-Critters. If y'all haven't given up on me yet, I promise next weekend will be back to normal.

Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to wish everyone a very special and happy Thanksgiving. I miss you all, and I hope you have a memorable and wonderful holiday.

Missing Already

I'm not doing a Sky Watch post this week. So, instead, you have to put up with another one of my rambling posts about my time with my dad and the wolf. Don't worry, after Sunday, I'll find other things to post about.

Today is the first night that I am spending away from my dad and the wolf since I arrived here on Friday. It didn't take long for their routine to become my routine, and I loved every minute of it. It also didn't take long for Matouk to decide that I was a part of the pack and that I belonged right there with him... every day... every hour... so he could always watch over me :-) Tonight, I'm missing them both like mad. Don't get me wrong, I love my aunt, whom I'm staying with now. She means the absolute world to me. But, it's my daddy, and it's taking every bit of strength I have to keep from calling him to come and get me so I can stay with them. Yes, even at 33 years of age, I am such a helpless daddy's girl!

I talked to Dad on the phone tonight, and he told me that Matouk is basically doing what he's doing in the above photo. No, he's not pondering alli research, he's laying on the couch where I slept and staring out the window waiting for me. *sigh* I MISS them already!!!

(c) Misty DawnS

Hi everyone!!!

You miss me?

I miss you all, but I must admit, I'm lovin' having this time with my dad and Matouk. I was a bit concerned about how Matouk would react to my showing up and staying in his place. It is always just "Dad and Touk", and I was concerned he would worry I was trying to interfere. Those concerns, however, were quickly tossed aside. For, Matouk hasn't stopped giving me kisses yet, and he doesn't want to let me out of his sight. He lays up against me and howls as if he is letting the whole world know that I am his girl, and, then, he finishes his 'song' by giving me lots and lots of kisses and looking into my eyes like "I love you Mist".

I've tried to explain to Hubs that I MUST stay here much longer than expected for the wolf's sake, but, for some odd reason, Hubs just isn't buying my reasoning.

Well, I'll let you get back to your holiday preparations, such as preparing meals, buying presents, and joining a wine of the month club. Talk to you again soon!

Camera-Critters #33

Essssscuuuuse Me...
Does anyone know where our Mommy went?
We've been looking for her,
but Daddy just keeps saying,
"She'll be home in a few days."
(c) Misty DawnS

Daddy said Mommy took a ride in a big thing that
flies in the sky, kinda like a bird.
(c) Misty DawnS

Silly Daddy, I've chased and herded enough birds to know that
none of them are big enough to carry my Mommy away!
We try not to let them feel bad that we're smarter than they.

Stop the Ride, Please

I have been on such an emotional roller coaster for the past few weeks. I'm completely exhausted... emotionally and physically.

At one point, I am absolutely jumping for joy, dancing around the room, unable to contain myself, ecstatic. For once, this excitement isn't about Fentraphen, it is because I am going to Ohio and going to see my family. I am looking forward to time with my dad, the wolf, my aunt, and cousins more than words can say.

At other points, I am a mumbling fool with tears streaming down my face because my heart is breaking for my aunt, her husband, my cousins, and the rest of us. Our family isn't the 'see your extended family once every few years and forget it' type. In our family, it has always been a matter of we MUST see each other every year, or we can't deal. Since I was raised by my grandparents, rather than aunts, uncles, and cousins, these relatives were more like second moms, dads, and siblings to me. OK, let's change he subject - I'm crying again, and I've got to leave for work in a little bit.

HEY, I've been interviewed by My interview is supposed to be posted on their homepage today. It isn't there yet, but when it is, I'd be thrilled to hear what y'all think.

Financial Help When You Need It Most

Have you ever just finished paying all the bills for the month, only have enough money remaining to just get you through until the next payday, and then have a major appliance breakdown and require immediate repair?

Or, perhaps you have written checks to pay all the bills for the month, and then your spouse comes home and informs you that you have less money in your checking account than you thought, and you are now faced with the possibility of checks bouncing and racking up those dreaded insufficient funds charges?

Or, for a third scenario, your only vehicle breaks down, and it simply has to be repaired, because you rely on that one and only vehicle to get you to work?

Have you ever needed medical services which were required to be paid upfront?

These are all situations where Payday Loans can help a bad situation get better, and Payday One is a U.S. based lending company that can help you get the money you need within 24 hours. You simply apply online with their secure loan application. What makes Payday One different than other payday loan companies? You benefit from their great rate guarantee, convenience of applying online rather than standing in line or needing a fax machine, and if your credit score is low, that's not a problem.

What really impresses me about Payday One is they don't just try to convince you to get a loan you can't afford like some companies do. On their website, they provide a section of reasons why you may require and benefit from such a loan, and they also give you advice as to when you should not apply for a payday loan and even provide ideas to help you avoid needing to borrow money. It is their dedication to their customers which sets them apart and has caused them to be the leading provider of payday loans over the internet for the past six years.

So, even though I certainly hope that none of the above mentioned scenarios happen to any of you, it certainly is a relief to know where to turn if an emergency does occur.

Below is a video of a testimonial from a satisfied customer. He not only was impressed with the convenience and speedy reply he received, he was also impressed by the excellent customer service.

I've had a secret for a little while... I am going to Ohio on Friday and will be there during Thanksgiving week. I was keeping quiet about it, because I wanted to surprise my dad and my aunt who raised me.

Well, I have now told them both that I'm going to be there, because we've received some very bad news in our family. You see, I only have two aunts, and they are twins. I lived with my grandparents and aunt, and my other aunt lived in Michigan.

My aunt who lived in Michigan has just been told she has cancer in her pancreas and liver. It is inoperable. They will start her on chemotherapy to try to slow it down, and they will put her on medication for the pain. Her four children (my cousins) are all making arrangements to go spend time with her. The youngest of her four children recently had a baby, which made her a grandma for the first time.

The responsible and logical part of me knows that these things happen...
But, for right now, I'm letting the whiny part of me vent. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair.

Give Me Five Monday *Grocery Staples*

Becca started a Monday meme called Give Me Five Monday. The 'Give Me Five' Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here's how it works. Each week, she will put out a random topic from her list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back to her! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn't have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified. Go over to BeccA's Buzz and check it out!

This week's topic is Give Me Five staples on your grocery list besides milk, bread and eggs.

1. First and foremost - Miracle Whip!
I'm an addict. If our Miracle Whip jar goes empty,
Misty is a whiny and pouty brat! :-)
Hey, 'a sandwich just isn't a sandwich without Miracle Whip'!

2. Ken's Ranch Dressing
THE greatest Ranch dressing EVAH!
Don't believe me? Try it - you'll thank me.
I can't get Ken's out here, though. :-(
But, one of my best buds felt sorry for me and shipped me some!

3. Fruit Loops
I eat cereal every weekday morning before leaving for work.
Pictured below is one of my favorites.
I also love Golden Grahams.

4. Dei Fratelli Italian Sauce is awesome!
You don't even have to add anything to it,
it's awesome directly out of the can!
Yet, another item I can't get out here :-(

5. Cheese!!! Cheese!!! Cheese!!!
I LOVE cheese, rrreally I do.
And, Cheddar Cheese cubes are awesome when
dipped in #2 above :-D Just sayin'.

I Want an Inviting Home!!!

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that Hubs and I moved from Ohio to Missouri in June of 2007. We moved into a very small box house, which was built before indoor plumbing was an obtainable luxury. Don't worry, when we moved in, there was indoor plumbing, but I'm giving you an idea of how long ago this house was built.

When we moved here, we quickly realized that not only does this house require many necessary improvements, but we also desired (and needed) more space. So, we put an addition on the house, which doubled its size. Then, we talked, planned, and started dreaming about how beautiful and comfortable it would be when it was finished.

(c) Misty DawnS

Well, now that I've found a new amazing website called, I'm finding myself doing more and more dreaming about how beautiful and comfortable my home will eventually be!

First, let's talk about the beautiful home lighting offered by Inviting Home. Specifically, I want to talk about Crown Molding Lighting. It's SO cool! You really do need to go see it for yourself! These lights go along the molding at the top of your walls, and it is so beautiful! You can also get this type of lighting to go along the baseboard molding, which I think would be awesome along the baseboard molding in the hallways!

I especially like the Crown Molding Lighting, as you can tell. It is beautiful and useful. Not only that, it also goes wonderfully with their beautiful Crown Molding, which they have several varieties and styles of so you can find the perfect accents for your home.

See, there I go dreaming again, but, trust me, if you start looking at the various beautiful items on this website, such as their decorative hardware, you too will be dreaming and coming up with ideas to beautify your home in no time.

My friends, they have dragonfly pulls for cabinets and cupboards!!! You know that I seriously need some of those, especially since my bathroom is going to have a dragonfly and butterfly theme! Oh yes, I can envision it now -- the dragonfly pulls will beautifully compliment the photos I will have printed and framed to hang on the wall.

(c) Misty DawnS

By now, I'm sure you can see why I'm so excited. Well, quit reading my ramblings - get over to and start dreaming and envisioning for yourself!

Camera-Critters #32

Sometimes, you aren't supposed to see or notice things. Sometimes, you are supposed to overlook what you see and ignore it. Sometimes, you are supposed to just keep on walking as if there is nothing out of the ordinary around you.

(c) Misty DawnS

And... sometimes... especially when there are three gigantic black and white canines, with big teeth and overactive chasing glands, running around... well, sometimes...

You'd just like to take that human chic's camera and
tell her to shove it!

"Really. Do I look like I'm posing for photos?
Why don't you take your camera
and take your dogs
and move to the North Pole, or something, eh?"

Sky Watch Friday

If the following Sky Watch photo doesn't scream "Farm girl livin' in a farming community",
I don't know what does ;-)

Yes, you all know me as someone who loves taking photos of
butterflies, dragonflies, bugs, flowers
dogs, cats, farm animals, wildlife,
clouds, moon, sunsets, and the occasional sunrise.
However, today, I will admit to you something else which
I can't resist photographing...

Yes, I'll admit it...

I can't resist shooting...

Farm equipment.
(Yes, I have serious issues and need lots of help)

(c) Misty DawnS

Whether it's a Deere or an Allis (we really like Allis in this family);
a combine, tractor, baler, harrow, or wagon;
orange, green, red, blue, or yellow...

I'll admit it...
I like photographing not only farm animals, but also
farm equipment.
(Yes, I have issues)

Making My Lists of Good and Bad

The holidays are fast approaching, and the lists are getting longer. I have lists of presents to buy, ingredients I need for those scrumptious holiday treats, places to go, and preparations to complete. Sometimes I think I need to make a list of my lists! There's one list, though, which does not follow the 'joyous' or 'fun' the items on the other list form to create. I hate to say it, but this particular list fills me with dread, worry, and the feeling of being overwhelmed. This list I speak of is the dreaded "bills to be paid" list.

Yes, unfortunately, even though the holidays are supposed to bring fun and joy, the bills still arrive in the mailbox, and the creditors expect to be paid, regardless of what time of year it is. In our household, January is the month that is being dreaded, because when we sat down and started analyzing things, we realized that ALL the big bills, such as health insurance, auto insurance, same as cash promotions, and property taxes will all be due during the same month... January. That's also the month immediately following Christmas - the time of gift buying and giving. Then, we throw in the fact that we are still living in a half-finished house and our vehicles both need some attention in a repair shop. When you put all the ingredients in this list together and add it all up, the result really does not equal a "Happy New Year" to us.

Why am I sitting here pouring out my heart to you of the things I'm stressing about? It's because we've all been there, and we all continue to, unfortunately, experience months and situations such as this. So, I wanted to tell you about an option which may help 'take the edge-off' when you really need some help. It's called "ThinkCash". Now, before you think, "This isn't for me." and dismiss this post, please take some time to find out about their personal loans. Think Cash is a short term loan company that exists to assist in situations exactly as this, a.k.a. emergency situations.

Whether you need emergency money for repairs, holiday necessities, a new vehicle because someone totaled yours and took off (like what happened to my BBFF Tammy recently), or because you have got behind and need to avoid bouncing checks, ThinkCash can help. You simply fill out your application for between $250 to $2,500, at any time, and receive a decision within seconds after submitting it. If approved, people can have those needed cash loans the very next day! In my opinion, the main benefit with ThinkCash loans, and the thing that sets it apart from payday loans, is the low rates, which are up to 75% lower than payday loans.

I'm not writing this post to 'sell you' on this company. I'm writing this to show you that there is help out there when you have an emergency and need it. Now, I've got another list I find myself referring to; it's a list provided on the website of ThinkCash called "12 Steps Out of Debt", and I've learned some good tips from that list. Besides, in their list, they tell me to make lists, and since I'm a list-kinda-girl, they immediately got my attention!

Got Boogers?

(c) Misty DawnS

I have had this stupid ear and sinus infection for weeks and weeks now! I cannot get rid of it! For awhile, I got rid of the sinus part, and the problem was only in my ear. Now, however, the medicine I've been taking it trying to work and the yuckies are back occupying my ear, head, and face. Oh joy.

Just keep your fingers crossed for me, please, because I really, really need this to go away. I am avoiding going to the doctor for a couple of reasons... well, actually one reason - money. You see, I'm not anywhere close to meeting my deductible, and upon seeing the bills this past month, I had to raise our deductibles (ouch). This results in an unbelievable amount of money coming out of our pockets if one of us were sick, and let's not even think about both of us getting sick, because we are on individual policies rather than having group health insurance. *sigh* I had no fortune teller around when we were moving out here. If I had, I could have done things differently.

Geesh, I just went off on a tangent, didn't I? Start telling you about an ear infection and end up whining about insurance costs. OK, I'm done with that now, I promise.

By the way, that photo up there (ignore the terribly poor quality) is of the calf I named Dharma :-) You know, after the television show "Dharma and Greg". I LOVED that show and thought Dharma was fabulous. So, when our beef cows had calves one year, they were: Dharma, Jane, Greg, Petey, and Abby. :-D Yes, I have serious issues.

Heads or Tails *Where*

If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome new HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is Heads-"Wear" or Tails-"Where".

When I have happy dreams,
I dream of a land of butterflies and dragonflies,
of deer, hawks, and eagles,
and, of course,
dogs... everywhere.
I dream of a land where I am surrounded by dogs,
everywhere I turn :-)
(Yeah, I know, you expect nothing different from me.)

I often wonder...

Where do dogs go when they dream?

Is she dreaming of a land where there is an
endless supply of balls and food?
(c) Misty DawnS

Is he dreaming of a land where strangers just leave you alone;
a land where you can work with your daddy all day
herding cows and farm equipment?
(c) Misty DawnS

Is she dreaming of a land where she can
play all day and chew up anything she wants
and not get into any trouble?

Today's Flowers

Hello my fabulous friends! I hope you'll forgive me, but the cold weather and winds have arrived here in Missouri, which means the flowers are gone. So, I'm reaching into my photo archives to find flower photos, because I really want to continue to participate in Today's Flowers.

(c) Misty DawnS

I have no idea what this flower is to be honest with you. I found it growing along the road. It was full of all these hanging 'mini-flowers', and it is gorgeous.

After you get yourself unwrapped from those HDMI cables, I strongly suggest you go and view the Today's Flowers posts. Even if the flowers are gone where you live, these posts are sure to brighten your day. So... If you would like to join in the fun or view the other beautiful entries, click on the graphic at the beginning of this post or click here.

Camera-Critters #31

We had two absolutely gorgeous days on Monday and Tuesday of this week. I longingly stared out the door to my office wishing I were out there taking advantage of the last warm days of the year. Unfortunately though, money is a necessary evil, and I had to remain at work. I did, however, decide to take advantage of my full lunch break, grab the camera, and head back to the paths in the woods at the back of the park. When I arrived at the paths, I was amazed. It looked as if the woods were literally 'alive' and moving. Upon closer staring with my jaw hanging open examination, I realized this section of the woods was actually full of squirrels. The more I stared, the more squirrels I saw (Gray Squirrels and Fox Squirrels). After a bit, I thought to myself, "Duh Misty! Pictures!" It was right at that moment, this one decided to be the perfect model.

"Whoa! Where did you come from? I didn't see you there."
(c) Misty DawnS

"So many nuts, too little time."
(c) Misty DawnS

"You got all your nuts gathered already?
You that blogging chic I've heard about?
Gonna put my picture on your Sony Vaio?"
(c) Misty DawnS

"Did you hear about Chip? He lives down the path a bit.
Someone broke into his tree and stole his stash!"
(c) Misty DawnS

"If it woulda been my stash, why I woulda
gave em a big ol' sock to the teeth is what I woulda done."
(c) Misty DawnS

"Well, I better get back to it. I'd whistle while I work,

Sky Watch Friday

So, I was walking along, when I met a new friend.

This friend called to me
from up high in the tree.

(c) Misty DawnS

Have you heard?
Did you know?
There's a party down the road
in the direction you go.
(c) Misty DawnS

Silly Bird, what do you mean?
Are you sure of what you say?
There's a party down the road
in the middle of the day?

Silly Human,
do you say you don't believe?
Keep on walking, and you'll see.
Just remember - you didn't hear it from me!
(c) Misty DawnS

There soon was no doubt
this little birdie deserved my trust.
The further I walked, sure enough,
the more I heard a big ruckus and fuss.
(c) Misty DawnS

Finally I looked up,
and there I stopped short...
(c) Misty DawnS

For, there was certainly a party
or meeting of some sort.
(c) Misty DawnS

But obviously I wasn't invited,
much to my chagrin
(c) Misty DawnS

For, as I approached,
the meeting came to an end.
(c) Misty DawnS

Was it a party of joy?
a tactical ploy?
a reason to celebrate?
a discussion of political debate?
Were they discussing
promotional items
to promote their Blackbird flying relay race?
Or, looking for a new tree
to provide them more space?
(c) Misty DawnS

Whatever the topic,
I will never now.
For they flew without telling
as I watched from below.
