Help When You Can't Call For It

My great-uncle is 95 years old, and while he's still ornery as can be, of course, the age affects his mind and body. He recently sold his house and moved in with my aunt in my childhood home. Recently, my aunt was out of town, the electric went out, and my great-uncle was home by himself. He tried to go to the other room, got his feet caught in a cord, and fell. Luckily, he only scraped his back. It could have been much worse. Thankfully, my dad thought to check on him, but what if no one had thought about it, and my uncle's fall had been worse? That is where a fall detection device would be beneficial.

A company called Brickhouse Alert creates Medical Alarm devices for seniors. One is the fall detection device I just mentioned, and another is a GPS tracking bracelet. The bracelet has two-way communication so the person can immediately call for help if it is needed. The built-in GPS tracking can help locate a victim of Alzheimers or dementia who has wandered and become lost.

There comes a time when we need to take the steps to look after the elderly in our lives. After all, they looked after us when we were young.

I'm glad your uncle is ok, thank you for sharing alert devices with us.

After working @ a retirement community, I can only imagine how helpful these items would have been in lots of situations.
