Camera-Critters #51

Forgive me for a moment, but
this is one of my most favorite photos I have ever taken.
(c) Misty DawnS

I saw this critter when Hubs and I were on our way for our long walk last weekend.
I asked, "Did you see that?"
Hubs said "No. Do you want me to back up?"
I just gave him that look as he was already putting the vehicle in reverse.
The above photo is what I saw and continued to merrily snap photos of.
Then, the critter decided we had done enough staring at each other.
So, it continued on its way...

(c) Misty DawnS

"Still on my way to my destination...
Why does that woman keep standing there watching me?"
(c) Misty DawnS

"Talk to the tail, Lady.
I've got places to go and things to do!"
(c) Misty DawnS

"I'm outta this joint.
This pond ain't big enough for the two of us."
(c) Misty DawnS

"Ah ha! I see an escape route now!
See ya later, Camera-Lady!"

Don't forget Heads or Tails on Tuesday, Looking at the Sky on Friday, and for your weekend enjoyment...

What fabulous photos of the raccoon.

CONGRATULATIONS on capturing a terrific sequence of shots!!!

The racoon and his perfect reflection in that first shot are just amazing. Cute followups, too.

You are a hoot! That first photo has got to be an award winner! Happy One Year!

Just to show you how much I love you, I'm typing this on my laptop (in bed) and I have a Banana thinking my hands want to be nudged and licked!

OK. That first picture is freakin' AWESOME!!!!! Is that one you're going to enter in that contest?? Huh, huh, huh???? If ya do and you win, can I get half the money for telling you you should??? :P

What do you MEAN no? Hrmph. Some friend you are. C'mom Gina and Nanners. We're taking the RC stuff and going home..

I can see why it's a favorite! the reflection is amazing and he's looking right at you

and I love the shot where he's doing that little dance move

That first photo is really AWESOME. I love it. I've never seen a raccoon swimming before! That's just amazing. And during the day...I thought they were more nocturnal.

VERY nice photo.

Great pics, but there's something I don't get...if you were out for a long come hubby had to put the vehicle in reverse???? lol.

This Is My Blog - fishing guy

Misty: I agree with your photo assesment. That is a wonderful reflective capture. I also like the skinny legs as it exits the water.

Very cool photos. I really like that first one.

Even living in the middle of the city, we see racoons. They use the sewers like a roadway. I was walking down the footpath, a while ago, and happened to see one peering at me from the sewer grate. It had it's head popped out was just watching me walk by. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me at the time :-(

wow! those photos are fabulous, good shot I love the way you captured the racoon especially the first pic..

Nikki - Notes of Life

That top photo is a fantastic capture and I can see why it is one of your favourites. The composition and reflection are great :)

Adrienne Zwart

Wow, that first shot is amazing! And as always, love the witty commentary.

The shot is superb!
Not a cooperative critter.

Jane Hards Photography

That top one really is your best shot ever.

That's a good picture. Any picture of a racoon going in the opposite direction of me is a good picture!

Fantastic photos!!

Haley @ House On The Hill

That first photo is amazing with the reflection!

Great photos, Misty!

'Talk to the tail, lady'....bwaaaahahahahahahha

Beautiful captures. I can see why it is one of your favorites!!

Excellent captures. I don't believe I've ever seen one of these in the water before.

Wow! Excellent shot Misty!
It's already framed and on the wall isn't it - it should be.

My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.

I looooove that top photo. Great post (again).

david mcmahon

That first shot IS wonderful, Mist.

OMG that is so freaking cool!!!

Fantastic photo, indeed! Great shots!!!

OMG - that top photo is brilliant!! You deserve to be proud of that one.

And I love your persistence when following the movements of this little guy - makes for such an entertaining cc post.

Happy cc anniversary!!

An excellent series. I love the first shot--the reflection really makes the shot exceptional.

Oh beautiful shot! Love the story too!

I agree. That is a very cool picture.

Hello Misty, I was at Carolina's today talking about her mare and noticed the post was "Camera Critters". After investigating...I think it looks like a lot of fun you've begun...and will join in next Sunday! And it will be your fav subject, I read.

I do love your Coon reflecting himself in the water... Just awesome shot!

interesting post of a raccoon. actually, I have not seen a live raccoon before. Thanks for sharing.

I love all of the photos going along with the story. Very creative.

Thanks for that sweet comment you left on my post, I was very flattered and it's much appreciated.

I just started my photo blog recently and have been looking for every avenue possible to post pictures, I am excited to participate in Camera Critters.

Thanks :)

i can see why its your fave. hes absolutely adorable, and the reflection capture is photo genius ;)

Great shots! Love the first one and in the last one, what long legs racoons have... LOL

Hee heee that made me laugh. He was thinking what is she doing.. now is time to get away.

Oh, my, that first shot is awesome. I wouldn't change a thing about it. And what a great series they all make.

Love, love, love the first shot though all of them are great because of the nature of the subject. Just watch those raccoons out during the day. Thems is night critters (as the husband would say). Usually if they are out during he day up here they are rabid.

They walk so funny.

That's amazing, I didn't even know they could swim! Great photos, especially the first one where you've caught his reflection.

Wonderful shot of him in the water. It's funny how he has no problem being in the water yet he has to tiptoe out of the mud on the shore! I need to start blogging my pro-shots at some point. I still worry too much about them being misappropriated.

This is a fun series and I LOVE that one too! The reflection is perfect and that he's looking at you! Right place at the right time!

WOW! I NEVER see stuff like this, and certainly not with a camera in hand! Great capture:)
