Looking at the Sky on Friday

WooHooo! It's Friday! Not only is it the end of the work week for most people (not me, I've still got to work, but that's beside the point), it's also time for the fun and wonderful meme where we spend our time Looking at the Sky on Friday! (Click on the badge to join on the fun!)

Last weekend, all it did was rain, hail, rain, storm, and rain some more. I asked Hubs on Saturday night, "It is supposed to rain all day Sunday too???". He replied that it was not, and I would be able to go for some photo walks. Well, I woke up Sunday morning to the sound of rain. I stumbled into the room where Hubs was and exclaimed that he had been wrong, because it WAS raining! He pointed out the window to show me that the clouds were clearing and the rain had stopped. I asked if he thought I could go for a walk. "Yes", he replied. "Do you think I'll get rained on?" I asked. "Nope. It's clearing." So, I went for a walk and thought the skies were rather interesting.

Then, as I was taking some photos, I turned and looked behind me and discovered that the sky behind me was completely dark. A Red-Winged Blackbird landed in a tree next to me, and I swear he started laughing at me. I swear it! So, I proceeded to walk at a very fast pace towards home. Then... it thundered, and I thought, "Ruh Roh!" Then the HAIL started to fall from the sky. Yes, I said HAIL. So, I put the camera in the camera bag, clutched it to my chest, and began to sprint down the road for home. I had forgotten how fast I could run, until I had hail falling from the sky, and was concerned about my camera. Nope, I didn't need any Jillian Michaels workouts that day, I think my sprint down the road filled my exercise requirements for the day.

I always do enjoy your Friday Sky Shots but have to tell you this again today -loved 'em in both this post and on your other blog too today.

Lilli & Nevada

What great colors in that sky, Is that corn stalks or wheat?

Autumn

That first shot is fantastic!
Your tale reminds me of the time I took #3's dog for a walk & we got hailed on about 4 blocks from home. Poor dog.

Tricia

Two more great photos from the wet walk. Now I understand, your husband is to blame for you getting wet.

I am SO late in getting around to reading and commenting. It's Sunday and I'm just reading your Friday post!

The skies are lovely even though dark (I love the contrasts) but what I really want to know is if you went home and shook your wet hair all over your husband who was wrong again?!?

Happily Retired Gal

I've been sick so I'm WAY behind with blog visits but doing what I can to catch up this evening. All your sky shots are wonderful but the first photo here is really marvelous!
Hugs and blessings,

Looking @ The Sky on Friday
