Camera-Critters #67

(c) Misty DawnS

It had been a rough few days for me emotionally, and Hubs was wore out from working on roofs and constructing steel buildings. So, of course, I needed to get out and have some time to reflect...

I was walking down the road, and looked up ahead and saw a coon family walking along the side of the road. So, I took a picture of them, just for the heck of it, but they were way ahead of me. I continued to watch them, and saw them go off into the grass. So, when I got to that spot, I looked, but didn't see any coons. When I turned to continue on my walk, I saw them up ahead again, walking along the side of the road again. Then I saw them go off the road again. I know the area quite well, and I knew that where they went off the road, they would either be playing in some water or playing in the tree... So, I took off sprinting down the road (Yes, I sprint for photos hehe). When I got to the spot, I watched the family playing in the tree, and, as you can see, three of the little ones decided to pose for me. I call them "The Three Amigos", and I must say that this is the best family portrait I've ever taken. hehe

Don't forget Heads or Tails on Tuesday, Looking at the Sky on Friday, and for your weekend enjoyment...

I only ever get to see these in the wildlife park. To see them wild and free like this is a real honour. They are incredibly cute.

I don't know whether racoons have family portraits in their home, but if they did, I bet this one would make a center piece! It's really cute and lovable.
