Camera-Critters #70

I couldn't decide whether I wanted to put the funny photos and corny captions to consider on this blog or if I wanted to put the pretty photos on this blog...

It was a tough decision, but finally I made a decision. If you want to see the funny photos and corny captions, you'll have to check out my Camera-Critters post on my other blog.

If you visited my Looking at the Sky on Friday post on Misty's Words, you know that last weekend we went to visit with my in-laws for a little while on Sunday. As we were leaving, we were standing on the patio talking when I spotted this little, green Ruby Throated Hummingbird sitting on the barbed wire. Since I've been wanting to get a hummingbird photo for so long, I just had to see what I could accomplish.

The hummingbird was being quite cooperative until this Wren decided it was jealous and that it should be the focus of my portraits. Of course I obliged it... I'm not one to pass up a good photo, even if it is of a little camera-hog. ;-)

Don't forget Heads or Tails on Tuesday, Looking at the Sky on Friday, and for your weekend enjoyment...

Both are very cute captures.

Hootin' Anni

I've tried over and over again to capture a hummingbird with the camera...I'm too slow, or they're too fast.

Pam

I can never get close up bird shots like these! They are lovely--even if the wren was a camera hog.

JD and Max

Very lovely photos - we love that the wren was a bit of a lovie and wanted to be the centre of attention! :)

Mimi

We've just started to see a little hummingbird here. I put up a hummingbird feeder, so hopefully he'll spend more time here.

storyteller at Small Reflections

Wonderful ;--)
I see hummingbirds often but like Hootin' Anni, I don't have much success capturing their images.
Hugs and blessings,

Anya

What a sweet looking birdie. Cute!

Congrats on the hummingbird shot! I see them on my Rose of Sharon and before I can get out there they're gone.
Love the little wren too.

My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.

Dina

Wow, I've never seen a hummingbird standing still. It's not much bigger than the barbs on the wire.
Great shots.

Mara

You really get a sense of scale when you look at both photos. Very nice!

Nice photos, Misty. That hummmer looks like it's taking a badly needed break. We're finally getting hummingbirds around my place.

Love these bird shots, Misty. And if you ever get back to Ohio, you can come hang out with me in the flower garden.

Beautiful photos Misty, and thank you very much for stopping by my blog and identifying the butterfly with the tattered wings. I've been searching for something similar and couldn't find one but now I will take a look at your other post you mentioned.

Beautiful Creation

Both photos are beautiful. Photographing birds, bugs and butterflies can be very difficult! Great job!

Brooke

Birds aren't the easiest of subjecs to shoot photos of... you got some great shots! :)

Anna

They're both so cute! It was nice of them to pose for you.

Tee hee. Very cute little camera hog!

Great shots. It must be hard to get a hummingbird. Since they are so little and usually pretty fast.

The wren is cool too.

Great captures of both hummingbird and wren!

Love the bird shots. You can see how very tiny the hummingbird is compared to the wren, lol. The wren may be a camera hog but he takes a good picture.
