Camera-Critters #47

As most of you know, Friday, Miss Maggie-May, a.k.a. Puppy-Doodles, a.k.a. Puppy Scissor-Teeth, turned TWO years old! I hope to have a little Blog Bash for her tomorrow (Sunday)... as, I haven't had time to prepare for one, since I work All.The.Time.

'Daddy' decided the birthday girl needed a bath and brushin' so she'd be all beautiful for her birthday. First, she got all clean, and, after she dried, Daddy used the brand new FURminator to brush out her undercoat. We didn't know how she'd react to the FURminator, but, as you will see from the photos, Miss Doodles seemed to think this was quite the birthday treat.

The FURmintor gets down in and pulls out
the loose undercoat. That's the stuff that
gets shed all over the place. That undercoat makes my
black dress pants look like they're growing fur ;-)
(c) Misty DawnS

Ahhhh - get off my doggie, itchy undercoat!
(c) Misty DawnS

As you can see, she's absolutely miserable...
just hating this... NOT!
I was giggling and laughing at how she was
soaking up the attention.
(c) Misty DawnS

Happy Birthday to Meeeee
Happy Birthday to Meeee
Happy Birthday toooo *yawn* I'm getting sleepy.
(c) Misty DawnS

Ohhhhhhh Daddy, that feels so gooooood.
I will NOT fall asleep. I will NOT fall asleep...
(c) Misty DawnS

I'd like to tell everyone to go buy their doggy a FURminator.
I'd like to be their mascot, because this things is TOTALLY awesome,
but...
I'm too tired - this feels too good.
(c) Misty DawnS

Shhhhhhh - don't wake the birthday girl.
Go read the next post down, and prepare to laugh out loud...
but not too loud, or you'll wake the sleeping beauty.
(c) Misty DawnS

Don't forget Heads or Tails on Tuesday, Looking at the Sky on Friday, and for your weekend enjoyment...

Urine Leaking E-Mail

I couldn't make up a better story than this! What you are about to read is a true story and, hopefully, an inspiration to you to proofread before sending even the most simple e-mail or letter!

Yesterday, I was having a bad day. To top everything else off, the computer decided to stop cooperating, and that threw a big wrench into my work schedule. So, I sat at my desk, cursing under my breath, and developing a stress headache.

I decided to check my personal e-mail, since I was waiting to hear back on homework and some other important things. I noticed I received a response from a company I had written to asking for clarification on something. Upon opening that mail, what I read was better than any relief Tylenol or Advil could have given my stress headache. In response to my simple e-mail asking if a previous e-mail's information was correct, I received this response...

No. It must have been sent by a system error.

I am sorry for the incontinence.

Ummm... Yeah... I'm sorry for your incontinence too, but did you really have to tell me about it? Seriously, we're not even on a first name basis or anything!

Yeah... true story. I received this from a COMPANY - This was a PROFESSIONAL reply.

PROOFREADING... it's your friend... and will keep you from sounding like you can't hold your urine. I'm just sayin'.

P.S. Dear Account Representative who made this blunder. If you are in any way upset with me for this post, you'll just have to get over it. Bloggers blog... Bloggers blog everything. Have a great day. :-)

Give It The Finger

As most of you know, I'm a technology junkie. It goes nicely with my addictive/obsessive personlity. ;-) I love to read about new gadgets and inventions, and I've got one to tell you about! Did you know that you can now get a keyless lock for your home??? Your fingerprint is the key!

This, in my opinion, is beyond cool! You don't need to worry about losing your key or having to rummage for it at the bottom of your purse. It's right at the end of your finger! A keyless lock is a great idea for children, because they won't have to keep track of a key and be locked out if they lose that key.

Another thing I think is really cool is that you can program the keyless lock to temporarily allow certain people access at certain times. So, the babysitter can get in to wait for the school bus to drop your kids off, but won't be able to just walk in any time.

I think this is a great idea, but I'm not always right. I want to know what you think! Do you think this is a great invention? More convenient? More secure? A bad idea? Tell me your thoughts or concerns.

Looking at the Sky on Friday

WooHooo! It's Friday! Not only is it the end of the work week for most people (not me, I've still got to work, but that's beside the point), it's also time for the fun and wonderful meme where we spend our time Looking at the Sky on Friday! (Click on the badge to join on the fun!)

I really don't have a whole lot to say. I just heard you say 'There's a first for everything.' - I heard that! Anyway, I don't have a whole lot to say right now, because I talked and whined myself out over on my Looking at the Sky post on Misty's Words. I'm still bummin' and feeling rather pouty. So, if you know about cameras, and you want to help a whiny girl out, then please, by all means, look at my post on Misty's Words and tell me what I'm doing wrong with my camera! Oh... and... thanks in advance.

Besides, I imagine when I get to work and open my blog, I will discover that this photo is much darker than I thought, and I'll get frustrated all over again. *sigh* The good news? It's Friday!

B2, B4, B Lucky?

I'm thinking that since I've been very unlucky when it comes to the weather (see previous post), and since I've been unlucky when it comes to my photography (see Looking at the Sky post on Misty's Words), I've got to have some luck waiting for me somewhere! Perhaps I would be lucky playing Bingo.

I should head over to BingoPort and see if I can find that misplaced luck. BingoPort's website has everything you could need or want to know about Bingo for people, like me, who enjoy the game. The list of sites they have reviewed goes on and on and is very impressive. Also, when you go to their very attractive site, you can monitor various online Bingo halls, discuss Bingo in the forum, and see where the many sites rank on the list. They even have links to free Bingo. It doesn't get any better than FREE!

BingoPort's website provides great service to Bingo enthusiasts. So, no matter which site you go to for your numbers to be called, whether it be Gala Bingo or somewhere else, you are bound to have fun! Just don't take all the luck, OK? Leave a little luck for me, I'm probably going to need it!

Bugs, Beds, & Bed Bugs

(c) Misty DawnS
We had extremely fantastic weather yesterday! It was over 60 degrees and sunny! And... I was at work. Guess what's predicted for the weekend... Go ahead, guess...
HIGHS in the 30s and snow! I've come to the conclusion that Mother Nature is upset with me. I just wish she would tell me what the heck I did, so we could hash this out and get it over with, for crying out loud!
I can't wait to go for walks without having to bundle up...
I can't wait to see and photograph bugs again...
I can't wait for Spring. *sigh*

Ohhhh - speaking of bugs. I heard on the radio the other day that leaving your bed UNMADE helps prevent dust mites! I'm thinkin' this is cause for celebration on my end! When I'm racing out the door for work and don't have time to make my bed, I can just say I'm preventing dust mites. So, I was wondering... how often do you make your bed? Every day? When company is coming over? Never? Oh come on... tell the truth...

Heads or Tails *Case or Rhymes with Case*

Heads Or Tails

If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is HEADS -"Case" or TAILS - "Anything that Rhymes with Case".

Miss. Maggie May, a.k.a. Puppy Doodles, a.k.a. Doodle Puppy Face
would like to cordially invite you to her 2nd Doggy Bloggy Birthday Bash
this weekend. It will be at the same place as last year...
(right on this here blog, y'all).
Maggie tried to get Mommy to pin down a time for her bash,
but Mommy pleaded a good case with the whole
'workin-four-jobs' thing (she always brings that up, excuses excuses).
So, we'll have to figure that out later.
(c) Misty DawnS

We sure hope to see you there!
It's a good thing the Blogosphere is a
big place with lots of space
cuz Maggie has LOTS o' friends!

Oh, and if you know Maggie, you know that she doesn't have Ferrari parts on her birthday list; anything to chew on or chase will make her a happy birthday girl!

Monday, February 23, 2009

It's Monday...

Have you hugged a wolf today???
(c) Misty DawnS

Me neither. *sigh* But, I do talk to one over the telephone on a regular basis. Hmmm, that's sounds kind of strange, huh? She talks to a wolf on the phone. Yes, but this is the same wolf who owns his own Beanie Babies and stuffed animals, has ice cream for a snack, and doesn't like the pizza crust (just the good stuff). Yep, that's my boyfriend!

Undeniably Dusty

There is drywall dust everywhere. Everything is coated with a layer of drywall dust. It's everywhere, in case you were needing me to be more specific. However, Hubs has been making progress on the addition to our home. I can actually envision the finished rooms! Are they finished? No. But, that's not the point!

The other day, I left for work, and when I happily returned home, I immediately noticed there was a wall gone. Hmmm... it was there when I left, gone when I came home. Quite the shock! I guess I really shouldn't be shocked anymore. If you've live in a home while it was under construction, you'll be able to relate.

Don't get me wrong here. The house is going to be very nice if ever when it is finished, but in the meantime I feel like looking into NYC Real Estate. Don't worry, I'll come back, just as soon as the construction is finished! Did I mention the drywall dust? It's everywhere. Just sayin'.

Song Sharing Sunday *Sugarland*

Song Sharing Sharing Badge

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sugarland! They are awesome as a group, and Jennifer Nettles totally rocked with Bon Jovi in "Who Says You Can't Go Home". Hmmmm... I'm thinking maybe I should use that song in the near future... ah yes, that's a grand idea. I just love when ideas just pop into your head like that. It's like... Oh yeah, back to the meme - the reason you're here. Focus Misty. Without further rambling thoughts from me... Here's Sugarland.

Monday, hard to wake up
Fill my coffee cup, I'm out the door
Yeah, the freeway's standing still today
It's gonna make me late, and thats for sure
I'm running out of gas and out of time
Never gonna make it there by nine

Chorus:
There's gotta be something more
Gotta be more than this
I need a little less hard time
I need a little more bliss
I'm gonna take my chances
Taking a chance I might
Find what I'm looking for
There's gotta be something more

Five years and there's no doubt
That I'm burnt out, I've had enough
So now boss man, here's my two weeks
I'll make it short and sweet, so listen up
I could work my life away, but why?
I got things to do before die

Repeat Chorus

Some believe in destiny, and some believe in fate
I believe that happiness is something we create
You best belive that I'm not gonna wait
'Cause there's gotta be something more

I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait
Yeah, 'cause right now I need some downtime
To drink some red wine and celebrate
Armageddon could be knocking at my door
but I ain't gonna answer thats for sure.
There's gotta be something more!

I think this little birdie wants to participate in Looking at the Sky on Friday too. When I started taking its picture, it continued to look out at the sky, as if saying "Ahhh yes, it's a beautiful sky." Or maybe he was just thinking, "So, this is the chic everyone has been warning me about!"

(c) Misty DawnS

"Am I gonna be famous now? Cuz, if not,
I've really got better things to do than sit here
in this tree and pose for your photos lady!"

Winners of GTD

(c) Misty DawnS

Why this picture? I dunno. Simply because it caught my eye in my massive file of photos, which desperately needs to be organized, but isn't, because I desperately need more time in a day or more day in a week, or something like that. (How was that for a run on sentence?) That photo probably caught my eye because we've presently got wind chills of zero again, but that photo makes me feel warm. *sigh*

Anyway... only TWO people guessed the correct dog in yesterday's edition of "Guess That Doggy". The two people who guessed correctly were also the last two people to leave comments - go figure! So, my congratulations go out to:

Noelle of A Portrait of the Human Heart
(Have you been to her blog? I love it! This girl can write, I'm tellin' ya!)

and

Anna of Beth & Cory's Mom
(who should not get a prize, because she managed to guess correctly, yet still find time to get a dig in at me in her comment. Geesh - I should have made more rules to this game).

Those two guessed that it was my beautiful and sweet Molly-Collie running towards me in the picture. She turned eight years old in December, but she always starts running like a happy puppy when she sees me. That just melts my heart.

Anywho (gosh, am I rambling again?) - Noelle and Anna will be receiving a fabulous prize of blog bling very soon (and some cat supplies for Anna's sweet kitty). I will either post it here or e-mail it. Congrats.

P.S. Anna, just kidding on the cat supplies... Don't try to hold me to that ;-P

Guess That Doggie WW

(c) Misty DawnS

Who wants to play guess that doggie? The people who guess the correct answer will receive some special blog bling from me. So, which doggie is it? Is it Tag, our boy, who loves to work outside? Is it Molly-Collie, the girl who owns my heart and soul? Or, is it Maggie May (a.k.a. the puppy), who will be two years old in nine days and chews us out of house and home?

Care to take a chance at
the first edition of Guess That Doggie?

(Psssst... If I just put "WW" in the subject line, then I can always say I thought it stood for "Wordy Wednesday". Hey, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Besides, a post that doesn't ramble just isn't a Misty post.)

Well, I haven't really been wordless (am I ever?), but click here to check out Wordless Wednesday!

Economy Worries

With the struggling economy right now, almost everyone I know is worried and stressed about money. Whether you are trying to fix credit problems, or you are worried about losing your job, you are probably feeling the stress that most people of America are feeling.

I feel like I've gone from worrying about credit repair to worrying about if the money will be there to pay the credit. I can't help but hear my grandfather's voice in my head as he told me stories of the Depression.

Back then, when he told me those stories, I was a kid who half-listened and thought that they were just stories of the 'old days'. Certainly nothing like that would ever happen again. Certainly, I would live happily ever after with my modern conveniences, internet friends, and nothing to worry about unless my power went out. Now, I'm an adult, and I hear financial experts suggesting we stock up on non-perishable foods. I've gone beyond worrying about how to repair credit; I now worry how we are going to repair our economy. (being an adult is depressing! hehe)

Before the election, I actually sat down and wrote a long post about this subject. However, I never posted it for a couple reasons. One, I, by no means, understand politics or government, and, therefore, thought I didn't have any place posting about such a topic. Second, the post, obviously, takes on a much more serious (and frightened) tone, which isn't common on this blog (unless we are discussing health issues). Just be thankful I spared you. ;-)

S is for Season...

(c) Misty DawnS

One of my favorite co-workers loves dragonflies. No wonder she's one of my favorites, eh?. Anywho... I was going through my dragonfly pics with her in mind, and I found the one in this post... *sigh*. Is it Summer yet??? OK, OK, sorry for being so demanding - I'll just settle for Spring. Any season which starts with "S" will be fine with me!!!

Why, yes, I AM at work... why do you ask? Oh... cuz I'm blogging. Well, I'm on my lunch break - So there!
(Inside joke to a friend hehe)

Regarding another one of my friends...
Tammy and her daughter Aurora are sick. :-( Aurora came home sick from school yesterday while I was talking to Tammy online (I was on my lunch break!!! HONEST). Now, apparently, Tam is sick too. So, let's all send healthy thoughts their way!

It seems like everyone is sick! Whether it's the respiratory flu that has been going around (that's what I had, along with the ear infections), or the stomach flu (I know several people who had had that). Which brings this post full circle when I ask...

Is it Summer yet??? OK, OK, I'll just settle for Spring!
(I'm sick of Winter and Flu Season! Get it? "Sick" of Flu Season. hehe OK, it wasn't really funny, I know)

Heads or Tails *Legend*

Heads Or Tails

If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is HEADS -"Legend". So, I'm giving you a legend of a subject that is very near and dear to my heart. OK, actually, a particular 'someone' that fits into this subject owns my heart.

(c) Misty DawnS

The Strength of the Wolf

The spirit of the Wolf resides in my heart
Mostly peacefully, yet ever wild
Running in time to the blowing wind
Dancing in the clouds that drift in the Heavens.

The spirit of the Wolf resides in my soul
Longing to hear the song of the Great One
Striving to be that which I am in my natural state
Succeeding only because of the Love that the Universe grants me.

Theme from Dances with Wolves

(c) Misty DawnS

When I visited Ohio in November, I had submitted my resume and application for a position at the medical college. I really wanted this opportunity. So much so that when Dad, Matouk, and I were on a walk in the woods, I said , "Hey Toukie, I have strong belief in your spirit. Would you please send that spirit to Missouri and tell the people at the college to interview Misty?"

Dad and I both smiled at each other and continued our walk. The next day, Matouk and I waited for Dad to get home from work. Then, the three of us headed out on our daily walk. When we got to a clearing in the woods, Matouk sat down, like he just wanted to take in the fresh air. It was then that my cell phone rang, and, upon answering, I was asked if I would like to interview for the position at the college. When I hung up, Matouk was just looking at me. I hugged him and told him thanks. He just got up and started walking like, "OK, let's go on our walk now that we've taken care of that."

Never underestimate the truth to the legend of the the spirit of a wolf. I'm just sayin'.

OK, I'm going to shop online for Discount Blinds now. Thanks for visiting!

Random Thoughts on Monday

(c) Misty DawnS
Is it really Monday already???

One thing this weekend taught me... I need to cut back and take time to rest. I took Saturday off because I've been sick and thought the extra rest would do me a lot of good. So, I didn't set the alarm, and I didn't worry about going to work, and I just slept, and it was beautiful. Seriously, I can't explain how different this past weekend was.

I was able to get some photos this weekend that I really like. I'll show them to you in the upcoming memes... if I can wait that long. ;-)

Maggie May's birthday is eleven days away. Can you believe she's going to be two years old??? It seems like just last week we were having her first doggy-bloggy-birthday bash.

I'm taking a JavaScript class right now, and I'm getting rather frustrated. I've done my homework for the week. However, the website isn't performing as it should. I've checked and re-checked the code so many times, and I can't find the error. I'm ready to pull my hair out.

Well, I'm off to work, but in case you're looking for something to do this week, don't forget these fun memes.

Winkie Says...

When we decided to raise sheep in Ohio, it was a new experience. We had only ever had cattle on the farm prior to that, and we didn't know much about sheep. So, I took it upon myself to read as many "How To" and educational books about raising sheep as I could. Unfortunately, I had this annoying habit of saying, "The book says..." or, "Mr. So-And-So says..." (Mr. So-And-So being the author). Hubs always reassured me he appreciated my help, but I'm thinking he might have just been sayin' that.

Imagine, when we got dogs, if I would have said "Well, Winkie says...". That would have got Hubs attention immediately! I'm sure the response I would have received would be something like, "What does Winkie say, and who the heck is Winkie?" What? Now you wanna know who Winkie is, don't you? OK, Winkie Spiers is an author who wrote the book called "How To Handle Living With Your Dog".

If you visit Short Stack Publishing, you can find Winkie's book, along with many other educational books. Oh come on, you know you're intrigued now with my talk of Winkie. Go over to the home of the How to Handle Series and check out Winkie and much more!

Song Sharing Sunday

Song Sharing Sharing Badge

I am loving this meme! Seriously - I get to share my favorite songs... both the music AND the words. You see, my Hubs always just hears the music. I, on the other hand, always hear the words. Makes it difficult when one of us needs the other's help in figuring out a song in our head. hehe

If you don't know that I truly and completely LOVE Martina McBride (and worship and adore her too), then you haven't visited my blog very often. I think Martina is awesome. For crying out loud, I gave one of my dogs the middle name "Martina"! Yep, "Molly Martina" - how's that for obsessed??? No, I have NOT seen her in concert, but I have made my husband promise he would take me to one of her concerts before I die. So, I might be 70 years old, but, by goodness, I'll see her in concert before I die! I did see her at The Grand Ole Opry when we took my step daughter to Nashville. Let me tell ya - I did in fact about die! When I saw her standing on the stage, I freaked, screamed in my step-daughter's face, blew her eardrums, and proceeded to leap over her and my husband so I could get to the aisle to dance and take pictures (but I couldn't cuz I was shaking). It was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!

OK, back to the meme... here's my contribution!

You can spend your whole life building something from nothing
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway
You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach and you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

Chorus:
God is great, but sometimes life ain’t good
And when I pray it doesn’t always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway, I do it anyway

This world’s gone crazy and it’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway
You can love someone with all your heart, for all the right reasons, and in a moment they can choose to walk away
Love ‘em anyway

Repeat Chorus

You can pour your soul out singing a song you believe in that tomorrow they’ll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway, sing it anyway

I sing, I dream, I love, anyway

I REALLY, REALLY ♥ and adore her.

The Fresh Promise

Tammy and I were talking today. What, you're surprised? I know. Don't tell her, but I kind of like her a little bit. If you tell her, it will go to her head (hehe). Anyway, Tammy and I were talking today about February being Heart and Stroke Awareness Month. Tammy's dad meant the world to her, and he had heart problems, just as my grandpa, who meant the world to me, did.

Therefore, this is a subject which is very important to both of us. So, I signed up over at Fresh Promise's website, which was created to help spread the word about Heart Disease. It was very easy and only took a couple minutes to sign up.

The American Heart Association joined up with Chiquita and Fresh Express for this very important cause. They even have a Facebook group you can join to show your support. That's what I'm going to do now... you should too.

Camera-Critters #45

These horses belong to our good friend and neighbor.
Out here, when your neighbor needs help, you don't hesitate - you just help.
That's exactly what this neighbor has always done for us.
Ummm, please don't tell him, I'm the one who ran out to take pictures
when they were moving cattle down the road and maybe, might have,
coulda, possibly scared said cows into turning around.
I'll deny it! I was inside dusting and doing dishes the whole time!

So..... anyway, said neighbor was having surgery on his shoulder.
So, my Hubs was taking care of the feeding chores for him.
I went to pick Hubs up one day, and decided to take pics of the horses.
(c) Misty DawnS

There was only one problem...
Hellooooooo Horsee I would like to take your picture.
Could you please look at the camera???
OK, fine, I'll take aNOTHER horsee's picture! You'll see - it's your loss!
(c) Misty DawnS

Hi there! It's me, Misty Dawn, and I would like to take your...
ahem... excuse me, could you just look this way so I could...
Ummm forget it - I'll just move on.
(c) Misty DawnS

Oh, whew! There's two of you. I'm just here with my camera,
because I would like to....
You have got to be kidding me!
Helllooooooooo! Did Mr. G train you guys to ignore the
little-crazy-lady-with-the-big-camera? DID he???
(c) Misty DawnS

Oh for crying-freaking-out-loud!
You know what! I did not want your photos anyway!
Seriously! I'll go talk to some cows now!
At least the COWS will look at me when I talk to them!
You just resume grazing. Don't let me bother you.
We'll just all pretend like we don't even know each other.

I'm Famous!

I remember the first time Barb a.k.a. Skittles ever commented on my blog. I felt like a celebrity had just commented. Seriously, I considered her famous in the Blogging World and couldn't believe she commented on my blog!

Little did I know that she would become one of my dearest friends. Little did I know we would talk on the phone, pick on her husband (Mike or Mr. Skittles as I used to call him) about saying I can't play with his RC cars (hmmm, I wonder if he knows what SCX slot cars are), and share some seriously funny inside jokes (NO, we are NOT telling you about them - that's why they're called 'inside' jokes!).

Well, now she has interviewed me and posted the interview on her blog. Not only that, she also said some very sweet and considerate things about me and our friendship. *sniff* *sniff* I'm sure she just did it because she knows I'm a major sap, and she just wanted to see if she could make me cry while I was at work. Looking at the Sky on Friday #8

WooHooo! It's Friday! Not only is it the end of the work week for most people (not me, I've still got to work, but that's beside the point), it's also time for the fun and wonderful meme where we spend our time Looking at the Sky on Friday! (Click on the badge to join on the fun!)

Well, I originally planned for this to be a panoramic-type shot of the cattle grazing in front of the sunset. However, since I started this post at home, on my laptop, and then saved it to finish at work, because I was running late, I now see that, again, the photo on a different monitor is much more dark than it showed on my laptop. So, you can't even see the cattle, which means you basically can't get the whole 'feel' of the photo. *sigh* I guess I'm going to have to break down and change the settings on my laptop screen. I really didn't want to do that, but I'm assuming that most of you see what I'm seeing now... a photo that is too dark.

Lights, Borders, Art, & a Dishwashwer

You've heard me talk excessively about this house and the addition and remodeling project. I've jokingly said that I don't think it will ever be completed. Yes, I guess I'm being a bit impatient, buy, hey, you've got to remember that we didn't have heat in our bathroom for a year. Yeah, not only does a bathroom with no heat make a person not ever want to get out of the shower, but it also makes a person impatient. Heck, we even went over a month or so with no bathroom lighting! So, I, therefore, have an excuse for my impatience.

Well, guess what! Tomorrow, a guy is coming over to help Hubs work on the addition!!! They are going to finish the wiring and drywall and some other stuff! Do you know what this means? It means that it really, actually, truly might get finished sometime during my lifetime!

It MEANS that I'll actually have a dishwasher in my kitchen, rather than a large cardboard box which says 'Dishwasher' on the side of it! It MEANS that I can finally have the wallpaper borders, which I picked out and purchased four years ago, on the walls! One is a cow farm scene, and the other has sheep in front of a beautiful sunset... I know, you're shocked. Hmmm, do you think I should have under cabinet lighting in the kitchen? That would be cool!

It MEANS I can pick stuff out and put my touch on everything. I can pick out faucets, fixtures, and chandeliers. I can unpack my Border Collie toothbrush and soap holder. Did you just roll your eyes? I can display the Bonnie Mohr dairy cattle collectors' plates! Would it be conceited to print and frame my own photos to use as the artwork? Probably would be, huh? I'm SO excited! Can ya tell? OK, who wants to come over and help me decorate? I need volunteers.

Photo Meme

Y'all remember my darling friend, Stacey, right? hehe (just kidding Stacey). Stacey and I had great big plans, because we live in the same state, and we were going to meet up, and we were going to hang out, and we were going to have a blast, because we are cool... but, life happened... as in, we've both got families and responsibilities and all (pfffft). However, we can still hang out right here... we can virtually hang out. Right Stacey? Yeah, we're cool like that!

Anyhow, the beautiful and talented Stacey challenged me to a meme. She told me to go to my pictures file, go to the 6th folder and grab the 6th picture in that folder. Knowing how unorganized my photos are right now... this could be bad... very baaaaaad... Let's see... (humming the theme to Jeopardy as I open my photos dum de dum de do do do)...

*Gasp*

*Gasp* Again

This is just unbelievable, folks.

I can NOT believe I would have a photo like this on my computer!

I'm at a comlete loss for an explanation.

Just remember, it was August...

It was hot... (it's like that here in August)

Just please, don't let this change your opinion of me...

Wordy Wednesday

Every once in a while,
I'll catch him checking on me;
Giving me a little glance,
to make sure I'm okay.

Every once in a while,
he'll come to find me,
and give me a brief touch
like he's letting me know he does care.

Every once in a while,
he'll give me a short, brisk kiss,
and then quickly turn away
and go running off...

... to work with dad.

Yep, that's my boy!
That's my Tag.
I love him...
and all his issues.

When I have time, I'm going to see if I can learn digital scrapbooking. Then, I can be way cool, like my friend Stacey. Her designs are so beautiful. I think I'd do one scrapbook for each of my dogs. :-)

Heads or Tails *A Love Story*

Heads Or Tails

If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is TAILS -"A Love Story". Let me tell you about the greatest love story I've ever known...

Now, I'm going to tell you about a love, a love so strong that nothing could take it away.

My grandmother's father did not talk to her for eight years, because she married my grandpa. They had their first child, before he chose to talk to her again. He thought that my grandpa wasn't good enough for my grandma, because Grandpa did physical labor for a living.

My Grandma's father made the comment, "He won't even be able to keep you in stockings.", because back then, pantyhose were not easy to come by. My grandmother had been in the nursing home for over eight years, and my grandfather was still ordering pantyhose from the company that he had signed her up for when they first got married.

Every day, he drove to that nursing home to be with her. He became a fixture in the home. Everyone knew Jim, and people would make a point to come in to sit and talk with him. When his heart problems got too bad, he became restricted to a wheel chair, and his daily visits to the nursing home had to stop. You might as well have killed the man.

His wife, and his dedication to his wife, was what made him who he was. On my Grandpa's last Christmas with us, we were given the greatest holiday gift that anyone could ever be given. There was a very special nurse at the nursing home. His name was also Jim. Jim got up on Christmas morning, went to the home, dressed my grandma in her Christmas sweatshirt and a Santa hat, loaded her and her wheelchair into the van, and brought my grandma to my grandfather. When he wheeled her into the room and my grandpa saw her, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Jim, that wonderful man, gave up his Holiday day off to do this for my grandfather and for us. I love that man for his caring and his generosity, and I know that God was using him as an angel for us.

This same wonderful man brought my grandma to the funeral home for her husband's calling hours. Even if she didn't realize what was happening, he still did so much for us as a family.

Now... let me tell you about Japanese Magnolia trees ... Nah, just kidding ;-)
