Dear Headache...

Dear Headache,

We've been spending time together, what... ummm four days now? I think it's time we had a serious talk. Now, don't interrupt me, these are things that need to be said.

I cannot continue this relationship anymore... no matter how hard I try, I just need you to leave. I was hoping it wouldn't come down to my having to say these things... I was hoping you would just choose to leave on your own. Yet, you are so drawn to me lately, and you are being stubborn. Can't you see this isn't a healthy relationship?

I have goals and dreams... and responsibilities, and you are interfering with those things. And, to be honest, even the thought of you makes my eyes hurt and turns my stomach. This has gone on for too long.

I continue to provide you with the pills you bribe me into giving you. Yet, you still don't go away. You greet me every morning as soon as I open my eyes, and you continue to wake me up throughout the night with your incessant nagging! You're always there... you've managed to get yourself into my head, and I just can't forget about you.

I'm sorry to have to be so drastic, but I'm done asking... I now have to resort to demanding you go elsewhere. Trust me, this hurts me much more than it hurts you. It has been a one-sided relationship all along.

Please, don't cause a scene. Just go and leave me to continue in my life without you.

Thank you for your understanding,
Misty

Ain't

If you are looking for my Heads or Tails post,
please scroll down to the next post.

Update on my cousin's wife/best friend - She was in surgery for six hours yesterday. They removed her gallbladder and appendix in addition to the 17 pound tumor. Yes, you read that correctly.

On another note - my aunt who has Pancreatic Cancer is not doing well at all. She cannot keep food down. They have taken her off the chemo, and she now has to go every day to receive fluids and anti-nausea medicine.

When it rains, it pours. I'm exhausted, have had a headache for two days, and am fighting against a Fibro flare, but I'm hanging in there. None of this is unusual, so please don't be concerned about me

However, please DO continue to pray and/or send good thoughts for my cousin's wife/BF and my aunt. Thanks.

I received this poem in an e-mail and thought it was absolutely fantastic.
(I don't know who the author is.)

AIN'T

He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler.'

A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.

'I've been to Bible School ,'
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
'I've learned a lot about God.'

'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said,
'for a boy to spend his time.'
'If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime.'

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
'I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't.'

This week's theme is HEADS -"Down on the Farm".
Wow! It's almost as if this theme were created for me! As most of you know, Hubs and I are farmers. As most of you also know, Hubs and I originally lived in Ohio and moved to Missouri in 2007. It was a huge endeavor moving three families' households and all the farm items. This involved many trips back and forth with trailers. It also involved Hubs and my dad going to Missouri for a month. No, they didn't go for sales training, they went to Missouri to erect an equipment building. I stayed home during this time to work and to take care of the farm, because we still had some cattle. And... those cattle were getting ready to have calves. I am proud to say that I had EIGHT calves born under 'my watch', and I'm going to introduce you to them here.

Please Do This For Me

(c) Misty DawnS

“Are you sitting down?” I heard through the phone.

“Why? Tell me what’s going on! No, I don’t want to sit down!” Was my response, and I gripped the phone praying against the news that was going to come.

This was how I found out that my dear friend had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer – the word went straight past my ears and deadened my heart. My friend had cancer. I would do anything for my friend. I wouldn’t even need to be asked. I would just drop everything and do anything – whatever she needed. Yet, I sat there helplessly listening to ‘the news’ and knew that I was powerless over this monster that was attacking my friend. So, I made myself a vow to be there for her, throughout all the efforts to destroy this monster, although just ‘being there for her’ simply seemed like a small effort against such a large situation.

That was the beginning of The Anonymous Earrings Saga I mentioned a few days ago. Now, here I sit, feeling these emotions again, and trying to overcome and remain strong. For, after all, I am now 750 miles away from my cousin's wife, who is also one of my very best friends.

This time, she went into the hospital for what they thought was a gallbladder attack... and they discovered a cyst on her ovary... a cyst that is larger than a football... a cyst that they are over 90% sure is cancerous.

And, here I sit... 750 miles away. I'm here, and all I can do for the woman who has done so much for me, is pray. Oh trust me, I've been doing plenty of praying.

She only had three requests of me when I spoke with her on the phone.
1. Please come home, if she needs me to - to which I immediately said, "Of course." I had plans of going home to visit in July. Now, that visit will be moved ahead... somehow. I've got to talk to bosses and plead for time off, which I have coming to me, but haven't accrued yet. And... of course, I've got to find money for the trip there.

2. Her second request was that I be the contact person with our family, so my cousin doesn't have to keep repeating things over and over again.

3. And, her third request is where I need the help of all of you - my friends in the blogosphere. She requested that I put her on as many prayer chains as possible, because she knows the power of prayer is an unbelievably strong and amazing thing, as He is always listening. I told her I could do even better - I told her I would make a post requesting prayers, and with that post, she would have people praying for her and sending her good and healing thoughts from all over the world.

So - that is my request to you... please pray, meditate, send good thoughts... whatever it is you feel comfortable with.

And, when this is all over - I'll write another survival story, just like The Anonymous Earrings Saga, because she is going to beat this... again.

Books & Portfolios

Since most people who see this post will be coming to my blog to visit my Camera-Critters post, I thought it would be a good time to ask this question...

For those of you who spend time researching and identifying the critters, flowers, etc. you post, do you primarily use the internet or reference books for this purpose? I'm a HUGE fan of the internet, but I also think one of the greatest pieces of furniture is a book shelf... stuffed full. ;-) I love my books! So, I'm considering getting a few great reference books. Some on bugs, butterflies, birds, flowers... yeah, just a few.

For those of you who use reference books, do you have any you would recommend? Of course, they have to be appropriate for Missouri.

Also - and I know I've asked this before, but I didn't get much response at all. For those of you who have online photography portfolios - what do you use? Flickr? SmugMug? Your own website? I'd really like to hear your opinions on this subject!

Camera-Critters #55

Hello. My name is I. B. Wabbit.
What is that funny thing attached to your face?
Were you born like that?
Did people make fun of you with that black square growth
and that looooooong eye that moves in and out?
Hey, don't get offended, I was just wonderin'.
Speaking of growths...
I've got big ears.
(c) Misty DawnS

And one of them WEALLLLLLY itches right now.
Ahhhhhhh that's the spot.
(c) Misty DawnS

Why are you giggling?
You're just jealous. You just wish you had ears like me.
You just wish that whenever your ear itched you could
just grab it and fold it down in front of your face.
Stop giggling! You're hurting my feelings.
That's IT!!!
(c) Misty DawnS

I am I. B. Wabbit,
and...
(c) Misty DawnS

I am SO outta hare here!
(c) Misty DawnS

I wonder if he was headed to go on one of those Caribbean cruises... nah, probably not.

Looking at the Sky on Friday

WooHooo! It's Friday! Not only is it the end of the work week for most people, it's also time for the fun and wonderful meme where we spend our time Looking at the Sky on Friday! (Click on the badge to join in the fun!)

Ahhhh the warmer temperatures are here. The sun has been shining, and the birds have been singing. Man, oh man have the birds been singing. I went for a walk last evening, and it sounded like there was a concert going on for Mother Nature. It was overwhelming, and it was beautiful. Yes, I think that's exactly what it is - a concert in Mother Nature's honor.

Ahhh yes, it's Spring. Time to get out the warm weather clothes, clean off the pool supplies, and time for the buds to bloom...

Securing the Sense of Security

I'm not a material girl as far as wanting to own many possessions. I'm more about the 'feelings' associated with my favorite possessions. I love my camera, because photography is my passion, and it brings me peace, confidence, and joy. I love my laptop, because... well, because all of you, my friends, are in it. ;-) I just can't figure out how the heck y'all fit in there.

The other possessions that are dear to me are because they mean something to me, such as items I've inherited or received as gifts. So, I'm not a material girl. Yet, I have material possessions which mean a great deal to me.

I am also an excessive worrier. Yes, most of you already know that. So, when we moved here and started remodeling, I worried. I especially worried when I started hearing from friends and customers at work about several break-ins and thefts in the area. Some of these occurred within less than 10 minutes from my house! At this point, my worry goes beyond worrying about my possessions, it becomes about my feelings and emotions, my furkids, my sense of my home being my safe place.

I am sitting here with goosebumps and tears in my eyes at just the thought of someone destroying that. To lose that sense of 'home' because of intruders... to constantly be worried and scared... to feel violated... and I can't even imagine if something happened to the dogs.

For almost 30 years, my grandparents home (the home I grew up in) was my safe haven. Even after I became an adult and moved out, when life got too overwhelming, I went there to find peace and my sense of security. Now, my home serves that purpose. Having that violated would be indescribable. You know what they say, "You can never be too safe."

This is why a home security system, such as ADT, would be worth every single penny, in my opinion. Some would say that's a bit obsessive for the area I live in, but when you are talking about your loved ones, your possessions, your home, and your safety, how can protecting those things ever be 'too much'?

Don't Expect Servants with This Crown

I'm a queen?!?! I'm a queen?!?! Well, I must be, because another queen, Tina at Mummy Diaries says I am. She even gave me an award to put on my blog to let everyone know that I'm a queen! That's a great idea, because who wants to be a queen if no one else knows that you're a queen?

So, I now command my humble servants to present these awards and... hey! Where are my humble servants??? Wait! Why am I at work? Queens don't work! Oh yeah, now I remember... this queen has bills to pay. I don't want to have to pawn my crown (they never give you what it's worth) to pay the queen's bills. So, I guess I'll present the awards myself...

I present these Friendly Queen awards to:
Anna of Beth & Cory's Mom (She worries that's all there is to her, so I want to remind her she's a queen in my book!)
Barb of Skittle's Place (She's famous, ya know! Besides, she gave me a cape, so I give her a crown. Ummmm, don't ask about the cape.)
Jersey of The Furry Diva (Everyone knows this furry diva is a queen!)
Noelle of Portrait of the Human Heart (With writing talent like hers, she deserves a crown.)
Sandy of I Beati (Her generous and considerate soul is unmatched by any other. She deserves more than just a mere crown.)
Sanni of It's Sanni-licious (Not only is she a beautiful queen, but she's a sweetheart too - and super-duper talented at everything she does.)
Tammy of Mom Knows Everything (If she knows everything, she must be listened to. She needs to sit on her throne, wearing her crown, and knowing everything. hehe)

Heads or Tails *Once Upon a Time*

Heads Or Tails

If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is TAILS -"Once Upon a Time".

Once upon a time, I wrote a "Once upon a time" children's story.

Not only is it a "Once upon a time" story; it is a "Once upon a time" story with a moral. ;-)

To make a long "Once upon a time" story short, I'll just give you the summary...

It is about a troll named Thadlore (he had purple hair, of course) and a unicorn named Shilene. Thadlore had always been run from by the other animals of the forest, because he looked different. One day, Thadlore found Shilene, who had been injured. It turns out that she got injured running from the other animals, because they were making fun of her because she was different. Thadlore took care of Shilene, and they became best friends. Later, there was a fire in the forest, and Thadlore and Shilene saved the other animals of the forest. The other animals then realized that they were wrong for judging the troll and unicorn just because they were different.

Well, that's the short summary of my "Once upon a time" story, and as they say... that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Oh, and, once upon a time I worked at an insurance company and could give you a life insurance lead, but I don't work there anymore, so I won't.
Thank you and have a great day :-P

FM Transmitter Needed

I used to love to read. Seriously - it was an obsession. I am passionate about my books, just ask my Hubs. However, since I work three jobs now and attend college online, I don't find any time to read. OK. Fine. I'll give you the truth. When I'm not working or doing homework, I'm on the computer chatting with my friends... There - ya happy? Anyway, recently, I have really realized how much I miss the things I used to do 'for me' that I don't do anymore. So, I got this great idea.

Since I drive about 50 minutes each way to work and back, I will download audiobooks to my MP3 player, find an FM transmitter on sale for the player, and listen to books on my drive to work and home. I think I already have found a good audiobook site to join (after we get some bills paid and some money saved), but I'm not sure which FM transmitter I should get. I have a Belkin FM transmitter, but it has never ever worked... ever - not even brand new out of the package! So, any suggestions on what kind I should get?

Oh, an important thing to note - my MP3 player is an iRiver. It is NOT an iPod - so, iPod accessories will not work with my player.

Sweet Surprises

When one of my best friends (also my cousin's wife) was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, I was absolutely devastated. I would have given anything to take the cancer away, but I was helpless. So, when the chemo caused her to lose her hair, and she commented that all she wanted for Christmas was pretty earrings because people would only see her ears due to her keeping her head covered, I came up with a plan. I devised the Anonymous Earrings Saga. I started purchasing any earrings I could find which related to her or our friendship in any way. I would then package the earrings and give them to someone to ship... without a return address. She would receive these earrings in the mail and not know who the heck was sending them. It really gave her something to focus on other than the cancer, chemo, and sickness. In a six month period of time, she received over a dozen pair of earrings with postage marks from all over the country. In the end, I wrote a story about the whole saga and sent that to her with two final pair of earrings. She still wears the earrings, and she still reads the story every once in a while. At one point during this whole saga, my mother-in-law commented to me (as I was handing her a box of earrings to mail while she was on a trip), "I don't care who you are; it always makes you feel good to receive an unexpected surprise in the mail."

That comment is SO true, and that was proven to me this weekend when I went to my mailbox and found a package. I looked at the return address and thought, "Hmmm, I haven't won any recent contests..."

Inside the package were two beautiful Border Collie flags and a very sweet card from my very dear friend Sandy, who hosts the blog I Beati. I was speechless! Sandy is one of the kindest souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Not only does she know me well enough to know the perfect gift (not only Border Collies, but also flowers of my favorite color!), but she got these gifts in celebration of Maggie's birthday and Camera-Critters' Anniversary. At a time when she can't really afford to be shipping me packages, she still wanted to do something special. I am deeply touched, and I am sincerely grateful to be able to call her my friend.

(c) Misty DawnS

Thank you Sandy.
I cannot express how touched I am by this gift.
I will think of you every time I look at my beautiful flags!

Camera-Critters #54

I'm still waiting for butterflies, dragonflies, and bugs...
In the meantime, I'll share some more birds with you.

A Thrasher (I love this bird, because it has a special meaning to a very close friend and me, so I take a photo whenever I see one.)
(c) Misty DawnS

Flickers - I just think they are neat, and these two were being very nice to pose together for a family portrait for me.
(c) Misty DawnS

"Fred! She's taking our picture! Smile and act like you love me, for crying out loud! At least look at the camera, would ya?!?!"
(c) Misty DawnS

"Pffffft I am SO over Fred. There are better fish in the sea... err, I mean birds in the sky. See - here comes a handsome fella now. Ohhh just look at the wings on that guy! Are my feathers ruffled? Seriously - do I look all right? Well, heck YEAH I'm sticking my chest out... don't you?"

Looking at the Sky on Friday

WooHooo! It's Friday! Not only is it the end of the work week for most people, it's also time for the fun and wonderful meme where we spend our time Looking at the Sky on Friday! (Click on the badge to join in the fun!)

It's that time of year again...
with nice, comfortable weather.

I start out on a 'short' walk,
but as I walk, I lose myself.

I lose all the worries and stresses
I was carrying with me, and

I completely absorb the wonder surrounding me,
and I realize there is SO much to appreciate.

(c) Misty DawnS

The more I get 'lost',
the more I want to continue on.

The more I get 'lost',
the most peace I find.

Sometimes, I have to just stop
and take a breath.

The sounds, the sights, the experience
if you just let yourself get 'lost'

It will leave you in awe.
It will show you the light.

You just need to recognize it
among the distractions.

Recognize it, appreciate it, accept it,
love it, and be grateful.

WW with Corny Captions to Consider

Ahhhhhh, feel the muscles stretch.
It's tiring being this dang cute.
It's a rough job, but somebody's gotta do it.
I do this same pose when they try to force me to get a bath.
I bow to the Sun God.
This is my inch worm imitation.
It's a really good stretch when your butt sticks up real high.
I just devised a solution to the world's problems - now I must nap.
If I wore breeches, they'd be split right now - wouldn't that be embarrassing!

Guys, Take Their Advice

Hypothetically, let's say that a guy decides to play an April Fools joke on his wife. So, he devises a plan, which results in said wife waking up at 4:30 a.m. (waaaaaay too early) to get ready and go to work. Then, already halfway to work, when wife finds out about this cruel and evil joke, she does not find it funny at all, and suddenly the husband can't see the humor in it either. This is when husband realizes he's in deep, and it's going to take a lot to get him out.

This is when, if husband has any sense at all, he will hightail it to the nearest computer and frantically type in the website address for Bella True's Tips for Guys section. The excellent advice he will receive from that site is no joke.
Guys, trust me on this...
Was your joke not funny?
Did you stay out late and not call?
Did you call her but by the wrong name?
Suggested she try a new diet?
Insulted her mother?
Got her a vacuum cleaner as an anniversary gift?
Forgot her cat's birthday?
Used her favorite nightgown as a rag to wash your motorcycle?
Whatever you did, Bella True's Tips for Guys will help you find the right gift to make it better. Well, depending on what it was you did, it may not be completely forgotten, but you can certainly make it better. They give you advice based on the severity of your blunder, the importance of an event, and which special days are truly special. My favorite section, Gemstones by Color, tells a guy when to choose a specific color gemstone.

Once you've found the right section, then you can set about learning which bling is most appropriate, ranging from rings to bracelets. This website section takes the stress out of jewelry shopping (and grovelling), by giving you clear and concise steps to picking out the perfect piece.

So, take my advice by taking Bella True's advice. You'll thank us for it! (I prefer silver)

Heads or Tails *Reason*

Heads Or Tails

If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is HEADS -"Reason".
So, I got out my NO2 Black Blogging Pencil
and came up with this list -

The Top Ten Reasons
I Love Blogging
1. It's a release for my thoughts, ideas, and emotions.
2. I can share my creativity through photography and writing, and I can learn from others who share the same passions as I.
3. The friendships I have developed are some of the best I've ever had.
4. My sense of humor comes out in my blog posts.
5. I enjoy creating my blogs as a reflection of me.
6. I am more comfortable with being myself on my blog than in real life (weird, I know).
7. I have MUCH more self-confidence and self-esteem when blogging than in real life (yes, I know, I'm weird).
8. Blogging is not limited to geographical boundaries.
9. I am able to see things and meet people when I would have never had the chance otherwise.
10. With blogging, the initial physical judgments/opinions which can interfer with face-to-face interactions are non-existant.

All Natural Stemulite

When I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I was prescribed many medications. I became concerned what effect these pills were having on my body. I mean, I'd be taking one pill for one thing and then also have to take another pill to counteract the first pill's side effects. It came to a point where I made a decision to stop taking the pills. Was this the right choice? I don't know, and I'm certainly NOT recommending anyone reading this stop taking medicine. This was my own decision... wrong or right.

Besides the pain which Fibro is known for, my main complaint due to this condition is the lack of restorative sleep. Sufferers of FMS generally are unable to get to Stage 4 sleep, which is the deep sleep during which time the body restores itself. Due to the lack of restorative sleep, most people with FMS could sleep most of the day away, yet wake up more tired than when they went to sleep. This also causes low energy and concentration problems.

For these reasons, the product called Stemulite has gained my interest. Stemulite is an all natural product which claims to aid in muscle gain, weight loss, endurance, and energy. It is also said to promote deep and restful sleep. I have not tried this product, so I can't make any statements as to whether these claims are true or not. However, many people have tried Stemulite and experienced benefits from it. These people took the time to create some interesting and positive testimonials on its behalf, which you can see on the website.

The fact that it is all natural is very appealing to me. Also, if this product could actually help me increase my endurance and energy levels, in addition to helping me obtain restorative sleep, then I'm very interested.

Camera-Critters #53

When you've had dreary weather...
When you have a hectic life which doesn't give you much free time...
When you've yet to find the emergence of new life with the season...

You can never go wrong
when you fall back on the ones
who own your heart,
keep you grounded,
and provide you with more love and appreciation
than you ever thought you would ever deserve.

Ten on Tuesday & stuff

Ya know how sometimes life just keeps throwing things at you, and you just wanna scream "Stop the ride, I wanna get off!"? You can relate? OK good. Anyhow, I'm not going to whine and pout in this post. I have a lot to be thankful for, and I don't like to sound like I feel sorry for myself.

I was trying to leave the Online Photography Portfolio post towards the top so I could get some advice, but since that isn't happening, I'm going to play Ten on Tuesday.

Ten Least Liked Foods
(This will be an easy one for me)
1. Squash!!!
2. Liver
3. Onions
4. Peppers
5. Horseradish (I guess that would be a condiment...
oh well I don't like Mustard either)
6. Spicy stuff
7. Lima Beans
8. Cooked Cauliflower (I love it raw though)
9. Sweet Potatoes
10. Mushrooms

There, wasn't that fun? I could add lots more to the list... does that make me picky? probably.

OK, you can go back to bidding on online auctions now, thank you for your time.

Heads or Tails *List Three*

Heads Or Tails

This week's theme is TAILS -"List Three". We are supposed to list three things of any category of our choosing. Oh gee... three things... hmmmm... whatever shall I list???

Shall I list my three favorite foods? Nah, I don't wanna talk about food right now, my tummy hurts whenever I eat lately...

Shall I list my three favorite drinks? Nah, that's boring...

Oh... I could list my three pet peeves, but that would sound like I was complaining...

My three biggest fears? Failure, losing those I love... nah that's not very exciting...

My three favorite things to take photos of? nah, y'all are probably sick of hearing me yak about photography all the time...

For crying out loud... what in the world am I going to list three of??? And, in the same category to boot?!?!

hmmmmm......

ummmmm.........

things....

same....

Online Photography Portfolio Advice, Please

I have a few questions for my photography friends out there... if you read this...

Do you have an online portfolio? Is it your own website, Flickr, SmugMug, or something else? Do you have any tips about preparing a portfolio? Are my photos even good enough to deserve a portfolio, or am I just giving myself too much credit (there's a first for everything, I guess hehe)? Seriously... I don't want to set myself up to be a big joke.

I currently have a Flickr account, but am seriously considering jumping the fence and joining SmugMug. SmugMug has a much more professional look to me. I would love to be able to sell some of my photography through my portfolio, but I think you can only do that if you purchase SmugMug's Pro account, which I seriously cannot afford.

Anyhow... I wanted opinions, ideas, and advice from the people I know and respect... I've always been a huge fan of customer reviews, because I find them to be more honest... Hence, this post.

Camera-Critters #52

Ya know... this whole ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY thing is...

FOR THE BIRDS!!!

So, who better to celebrate the anniversary with? Let me introduce you to my beautiful bird buddies. Let's start this post off great, with another one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. I think it is very important for me to realize that my "favorite photos I've ever taken" continue to increase lately. It means I'm learning and improving, and you should NEVER stop learning or striving to improve!

This is a Northern Harrier, in all her glory.

Isn't she gorgeous?

Seriously, can you possibly look at this and say it's not beautiful?

She almost took my head off when she flew past, and

if you look at this photo and look into her eye,

I think she's planning on trying to take my head off again!

Red-Tailed Hawk

*Sigh* These are the birds who have a conspiracy against me.

They will sit on a post, or in a tree, and just smile at me...

seriously, they smile...

and when I pull up my camera for a picture

they take off... laughing the whole way...

seriously, they laugh.

These are, obviously, some turkeys.

I took this photo last weekend,

right as it was beginning to sleet.

I'm like the mail carrier...

Neither sleet nor snow, will keep the

Crazy Little Lady with Big Camera away!

bwahahahaha

*Sigh* My Grandma would love this photo.

She loved birds, especially Cardinals.

The male Cardinal kept chasing the females away from the feeder.

How Rude!

So, this female was appreciating the seed I had scattered on the ground.

Take that Mr. Really Rude Redbird!

Speaking of rude...

here we have a Blue Jay.

My grandma used to say they were very pretty, but

they were bad birds, because they cause problems for the other birds.

They certainly are pretty though, aren't they?

Dear Bad Bullying Blue Jay - it you weren't so pretty, I'd give you a lecture!

The Blue-Winged Teals (see Bear, I remembered!)

have been frequenting my pond. Thanks, Pals!

See that long beaked bird in the background???

Look closely... ya see it?

That's a Common SNIPE! Yep, they really DO exist!

I could ask you to go Snipe hunting with me,

and it wouldn't even be a joke!

(Anyone who has ever been Snipe hunting knows what I'm talking about.)

Thank you for viewing my beautiful bird buddies, and

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, EVERYONE!

Because of all of you, Camera-Critters has been a

HIGH-FLYING SUCCESS!
