Camera-Critters #117

Hot diggity, I finally did it!!!

Those of you who have known me through my blog for awhile know about the "big bird conspiracy". For those of you who don't know, to make a long story short, basically I've been trying to photograph the 'big birds' since I moved here and have been completely unsuccessful. These big birds would include hawks, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles and Egrets. There have even been some rather humorous stories involving my trying to photograph these birds, which have led me to the conclusion that the big birds of Missouri have a conspiracy against me. It was getting to the point where I was going to have to start using some anti wrinkle eye cream, because I was stressing myself out thinking I would NEVER get good photos of these birds.

Well, Wednesday evening... it happened. I'm just overjoyed. Now... where are those hawks?

Congratulations, Misty. And in flight, too!

Oh Misty--what a beautiful capture!

Wow what a fantastic capture!
All the big birds stay away from me and my camera as well.
Only some egrets got captured but from a distance.

So...you finally learned how to use Photoshop. 8v)

Seriously though, excellent in-flight photo. Looks to me to be an immature bird, but it's still a nice photo.

Congratulations, you took a really beautiful photo. BTW, I sent away for some EcoSmart Products and so will be well armed tomorrow when we sit outside on our annual family 4th of July backyard picnic. I ventured outside for FIVE minutes this evening and got bitten, because daft me forgot that I had the repellent in my overnight bag. I will not forget it tomorrow :)

So beautiful, Misty! Maybe you're finally starting to wear these big birds down. They can't avoid you and your camera forever.
