ABC Wednesday *H is for Hay*

This week, for ABC Wednesday, we are on the letter "H". Hubs and I just got back from taking my photos to enter in the fair competition, and I'm tired, so I'm going to make this short and sweet.

One of my best friends told me that, since Hubs and I are farmers, I definitely should use hay for "H". So, I'm listening to him, and I present to you...

"H" is for Hay.

I see a lot of hard work there - hats off to you!

Around here the hay bales are covered in white plastic and the kids love to say the farmers were growing giant marshmallows! Love your post. :) And have a great week.

I miss the old corn stooks that would be set up in the fields. I'm sure the round ones increase productivity but the others were more picturesque. At harvest thanksgiving a stook would be brought into the church as part of the decorations.

'Hay' is an excellent choice of H-word for this challenge. Well done!

Although I know it is easier to roll them in plastic (we're farmers too) I agree with ChrisJ and miss the older ways of hanging it to dry. The landscape looked prettier even here in Sweden when we had long rows of hay-drying racks called hassjor (the first 'a' has an umlaut).

Best wishes,

We are watching our farmers do the very same. Lovely landscapes.
