Macro Monday *Checkered White*

I took the following photos in September. I think the Common Checkered Skipper is a very beautiful little butterfly. So, I was pleased when this one decided to pose for me. Not only did it post very nicely, it provided me with both a closed wing photo and an open wing photo. What a considerate little skipper!!!

Thank you to this wonderful Common Checkered Skipper! Gosh, now I feel like I owe it to this skipper to use some free directory submission software to get its name out there and find it a modeling gig. Don't ya think? ;-)

Camera-Critters #138

This photo was taken on one of my last days of fishing this year. *sigh* Then, the temperatures were warm, the sun was shining, and you could apply some of your best tanning lotions and enjoy the weather. Now... brrrrrrr! Yes, I know... it's that time of year, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! It's just now turning cold, and I'm already missing my insects, photo walks, and fishing. Yes, I can still take photo walks, but did I mention... brrrrrrrrrr?

NatureMill Composter Reviews Show Best Indoor Composter

NatureMill composter reviews expose the fact that it is the top indoor composting product available on the market. In reality, it is the only product of its kind since the other options for indoor composting consist of worm composting. However, by studying NatureMill composter reviews, one realizes that a worm composter cannot utilize meat, eggs or dairy because the worms won't sterilize the compost. Also worm composting presents the possibility of worms escaping while hunting for more food to process or the chance of children or pets coming across the worms. NatureMill composter problems are solved with this clean, efficient and worm-free process. Looking over NatureMill composter reviews and the instruction guide will ensure the proper mixing of materials for an efficient process.

NatureMill Composter Reviews How The Product Works

NatureMill's composter handles the entire actual mixing process with little effort. By making sure the correct mix of materials is inserted into the machine, the operator will avoid any NatureMill composter problems. The top section of the composter combines the compost together and breaks down the particles. While adding the proper amount of oxygen to aerate the compost, the tray boils the compost to sanitize meat, dairy and fish waste.

Garden Ready in Two Weeks

With the fastest home compost method on the market, the Nature Mill composter prepares rubbish for the garden in only two weeks. The NatureMill composter reviews show that composting becomes easy, quick and efficient. With gardening fast becoming a popular trend, this product makes it possible for anyone to grow delicious food in their own backyard.

Camera-Critters #137

Now that it is dark by the time I get home from work, and since all my favorite buggy critters have left for the year, I'm having to reach into my archives for photos for my posts. No offense to those who like the cold weather and winter season (yes, I realize it isn't technically winter yet), but I really don't like this time of year. Actually, I must admit that we've had excellent weather this fall season. However, I haven't really been able to take advantage of it, due to the time change. Stupid time change. LOL

Anyway, here's the photo I dug out of the archives for you this week. I hope you like it.

Looking at the Sky on Friday *Simple Simplicity*

This is a very simplistic image. Yet, it captured my attention. It gave me a feeling of peace and made me feel that things aren't always as complicated as they may seem. When I took the photo, I didn't know if it would fully capture what I was trying to capture. When I viewed it on the computer, I was pleased with how it turned out. I hope that this photo connects with you also.

Camera-Critters #136

Last weekend, Hubs and I went to the "city" to take care of several things that needed done. On the way there, I told Hubs about this specific area where I've been wanting to stop and take photos, but I never do, because I'm always driving to or from work.

So, we got to the city, got Hubs measured for a tux, got Hubs some new overalls for the winter, got Hubs a haircut, did a major stock-up grocery shopping, and topped it off with a Whopper from Burger King (I ♥ Burger King Whoppers). Yes, too many Whoppers can result in a need for thermogenic fat burners, but I'm not concerned. ;-)

And then, on the way home, Hubs pulled over at the spot I had told him about so I could make some friends...

Looking at the Sky on Friday *Leaves of Color*

This photo is from a week or so ago... when the leaves were still on the trees. Now, most of the leaves are gone. Guess that means the trees could tell some weight loss success stories, huh? We still have some pretty colorful trees at work though, and I keep looking at them on my way into and out of work and thinking that I should get out there with my camera on one of my breaks. However, it's starting to get cold, and Misty and cold do not like each other. LOL I know, I know, a true photographer will get out there no matter the weather... but, for me, that's when I'm home and able to bundle up - not when I'm at work wearing dress clothes. hehe

ABC Wednesday *Q is for Questions*

Due to my crazy, hectic life... along with my dreams and goals... I've had many Questions running through my mind lately. It seems that within each Question are more Questions, and I'm searching for the answers.

Some of the Questions include:
Which websites are best to display my photos? (because I need to cut back to give myself more time for posting and promoting)

What are the best ways to promote my photography? (and which ways do I have time for?)

What kind of schedule should I create for myself to get everything done in a day? (CAN I get everything done in a day?)

Should I revamp my blogs and create a whole new layout and structure on one blog?

There are so many more questions... so many...

Ruby Tuesday *The Leaves Leave*

I'm finding it harder and harder to find any color in nature now. The wildflowers are gone, and even the color changing of the leaves on the trees was very short lived. So, when I'm walking along and suddenly a bit of color catches my attention, I instantly have my camera to my eye to photograph it.

We've had a truly fantastic fall here as far as the weather is concerned. I, however, am dreading the winter weather, which comes soon. Therefore, I know it's very premature, but I'm already looking forward to spring! LOL Yes, I know I shouldn't wish the time away, but I surly don't look forward to winter! Maybe I should check the web directories and find somewhere to move where it's like spring all year. Hmmmm, I doubt I could convince Hubs to move though.

Macro Monday *Eye Coordination*

I highly suggest clicking on the below photo to view it larger. Then, you can see the details which really caused me to think this moth is really cool. You see (pun intended), it has large orange eyes, which bug out (pun intended) from its face. Ironically, the orange eyes are color coordinated with the orange spots on the moth's wings. Is that cool, or what?!?! O.K., maybe you aren't as excited about it as I am. I guess it takes a bug-lover to fully appreciate having color-coordinated eyes and wing spots. Just think of it as finding matching Prada shoes for that special outfit. Just sayin'.

SOOC Sunday *Used to Be*

These used to be wildflowers. In fact, in July, I posted a photo of these flowers when they were in bloom that are is very similar to the below photo. The flowers are gone for now, but I take comfort in knowing they will return again for me and my camera. In the meantime, there is still beauty in the changing of the seasons (regardless of it you are like me and dreading the cold and bad driving conditions LOL).

Do You Tattoo?

I should be doing my college homework for my web design class... and laundry... and dishes... and other chores, but I decided to come talk to you instead. Don't you feel special? You wanna talk about tattoos? O.K., let's talk about tattoos then.

Do you have a tattoo? I don't, but I have thought about getting one. If I did get one, it would be very small and be somewhere it could easily be covered. Of course, I've considered a tattoo of a dragonfly (shocked, aren't you?) or a butterfly, or a small dragonfly and butterfly together. I know, I'm just full of surprises.

My tattoo would be small and simple, but some people who give tattoos are amazingly talented artists. I've seen some tattoos which are an almost exact replica of a photograph. Those tattoos are really unbelievable, and it would take a lot of talent and skill to be able to create that.

Hmmm, that's a thought... my own photograph as a tattoo. How cool would that be? No, I'm not going to run out and get a tattoo of my pond (hehe). Honest. Just maybe something of the critters I photograph while back at the pond. Hey, I could get The Three Amigos raccoon photo as a tattoo! O.K., maybe not.

There are, of course, different opinions and views on tattoos. My dad, for example, is very against my getting a tattoo. Yet, he even has a tattoo himself!!! The reason he's against my getting one isn't because he is actually against tattoos, but because many other people are, and he doesn't want me to be judged. Some people think tattoos are degrading to your body or disgraceful. Yet, I believe that tattoos have come a long way, and it has actually become an art. Some of the tattoos I've seen recently are nothing short of beautiful works of art, and I can't help but respect and admire the talent of the artist.

What do you think? Are you for or against tattoos? Do you have a tattoo? If so, what's your tattoo of?

Today's Flowers *Going Out Gracefully*

This week, I have a different type of photo for Today's Flowers. Well, at least I think it's different. Yet, there's something about it that I like. I realize that the flowers in this photo are dying. However, I was still struck by their beauty, even in their final days. Something about this scene caused me to take notice and, of course, photograph it. I think there's a lesson here about going out gracefully.

Camera-Critters #135

I was walking back from my pond that place I talk about too often on this blog, and I heard a sound. I assumed it was the wind blowing the dry leaves and weeds around. As I stood there listening, this little head popped up out of the grass, sat there long enough for me to get one photo, and then buried itself back into the grass. Silly Opossum, you don't come out during the day! Hmmm, maybe he popped up to visit me because he doesn't like the water from my pond that place I talk about too much on this blog, and he thought I was a water filter supplier. Yeah, maybe that's it! Maybe.

Looking at the Sky on Friday *The Tree Again*

Do you remember two weeks ago when I was telling you about the tree I'm always drawn to and can't help photographing? Yes, I realize two weeks ago is a long time, especially considering you've probably got many blogs you visit during a week. Anyway, I'm always drawn to this one particular tree in one of our fields. Every time I go for a walk along the woods, I can't help but take at least one photo of the tree. Well, this photo of the tree is a bit different, because I wasn't in my normal walking area when I took it. Therefore, this photo of the tree is from a different perspective, because this photo was taken from behind my pond. Yes, I mentioned that place again, hehe.

Looks like rain, huh?
Believe it or not, it didn't rain. It just acted like it was going to rain.

Ruby Tuesday *Grass Addiction... Kinda*

Yes, I'm posting a photo of the colored grass again for Ruby Tuesday, but I just can't help myself! This grass catches my eye every time I go for a walk, and I can't resist photographing it! Seriously!!! It's grass that changes colors, just like the leaves on the trees change color for fall. How could you possibly resist it, if you are a photographer? Just sayin'.

(c) Misty DawnS

Yes, maybe I need to look in the directory submission for counseling regarding an addiction to grass. Wait... that didn't sound right. I mean color-changing grass! Geesh people, what do you think of me?!?!
