Eastern Amberwing

I'll Hang On ~ You Don't Let Go
(c) Misty DawnS

For "Dragonfly Thursday" on Flickr, I chose to post a photo of the Eastern Amberwing, which is a very small dragonfly compared to others. In fact, when I first ran around my pond chasing and photographing Eastern Amberwings, I thought they were baby dragonflies. I even posted to Flickr and said that these "baby dragonflies" were fun to photograph. I was informed by one of my more knowledgdeable contacts (most of them are) that these aren't baby dragonflies, but just a smaller species. I love learning about the things I photograph (even if I did feel a bit embarrassed at my error)! I really, really want to get some reference books (I have none *insert pout here*), and I swear some of my Flickr contacts/friends should have jobs supplying photos and information to reference books! I truly admire them!

Note: Dragonfly Thursday is not an official Flickr group that I'm aware of. As far as I know, it's just something I and some of my friends do on Thursday.

What an amazing creature, Misty. It looks like it's wearing a mask.
Just fabulous, the way it is holding onto that piece of grass.
But the most wonderful thing is the clarity of your photo, every little detail of those delicate wings - great work!

When I spring saw this picture and I listen to audio about a father who was too late to meet the wishes of her son who wanted to read story books, but those days have passed since that day his son died of a vehicle in a hit-man who was drunk. This photo express loneliness for me at this time. photos are nice and beautiful.
