Saturday 9 ~ Look Out Here Comes Tomorrow

1. How much do you worry about your future? My husband says, "If Misty didn't have something to worry about, she'd worry about that." I think I came out of the womb worrying.

2. Do you believe that anyone could be perfect? Absolutely not. Besides, one person's perfect is another's imperfection. Just sayin'.

3. Regarding your future, what is the best thing you could hope for? Health, love, and happiness, of course. (Accomplishing my professional dream would be nice too, but that would be a bonus.)

4. What's the greatest extent you've gone to help a friend in need? When you're helping a friend, who is truly in need, I don't think there's too great an extent. When one of my best friends had breast cancer, I spoke with hospitals to make financial arrangements so she could get a second opinion, and we did an "anonymous earrings saga", wherein she received anonymous pairs of earrings from all over the country, and then I wrote a story about it for her once the chemo and radiation were done.

5. What did you do lately that was really brave? I don't do too much that is brave. I go to work, come home, sleep, and repeat. I guess moving 750 miles away from everything I loved and knew was probably the most brave thing I've ever done.

6. Tell us one thing you wish you hadn't let yourself do. Everyone has regrets - things they wish they could go back and re-do (or not do). Yet, all of those things play a part in bringing us to where we are now.

7. Who is the wisest person you know? My grandparents were my guidance, my support... my everything.

8. What's the most tasteless joke you've ever heard?

9. What does your answering machine / voice mail message say? Pretty basic - I'm not available, please leave a message, and I'll return your call as soon as possible. Have a great day.

I like your view of perfection!

A very thoughtful list.

I agree with your answer to helping a friend in need--you do what you are able to do.

Our #1s are exactly the same...but you knew that. :)

Wow, Misty, some serious questions:
1. I worry about my husband when he’s on a long road trip. And I worry about Lindy if she’s been left outside when we’re not home. Sometimes I worry about “my kids” who are actually my youngest brother and my eldest niece.
2. I don’t think anyone is perfect, but I had a grandmother who came very close. And of course there was Mother Teresa.
3. For my future: health would be nice, and strength.
4. I just do whatever I can, whatever it takes, for a friend in need, and then I forget about it, and do the same thing the next time a friend needs me.
5. I don’t know if I’ve ever done anything brave. If I did, it would have been something covered by #4. How about stupid brave? I drove by myself from eastern Alberta to western British Columbia, and back, in the summer of 2009.
6. I have done plenty of things I regretted immediately afterward, but once I have forgiven myself, I forget what the things were. (See #5.)
7. I’ve been fortunate to know many wise people in the course of my life. My favorite wise person would have to be my late father. I still miss him.
8. I’ve heard so many tasteless jokes, I’ve deliberately forgotten them all. Actually, I can’t even remember any “tasteful” jokes, never mind bad ones. I have one joke I remember from 1982, so if I’m ever called upon to tell a joke, I use it.
9. My answering machine has one of those creepy hollow male voices on it. “No one can answer your call right now. Please leave a message after the sound of the tone.” I hate it, but this machine can’t be programmed. My old one could, and I wanted to say “D-I-C-K-A-Y—H-O-U-S-E” on it, but Dick wouldn’t let me.

I love your answers for #1 & #2! And Bravo on #4! What a great friend! Visiting from the Sat9 Linky!

Enjoyed your answers. I think the "regrets" answer is wonderful and spot on. Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back! Those pups of yours are great. I've got an Australian cattle dog who has a border collie best friend. The two of them herd each other around the backyard. They are both so smart!

My Grandpa is the wisest person that I know. It's amazing how much knowledge that they have.

My brother says that I inherited the worry gene from my mother.

I think everyone is born perfectly. We are, each of us, perfect beings although we may sometimes have bad judgement.
