Lessons From the Dogs

(This post is underwritten by Dog Fence DIY, the most affordable resource for wireless dog fencing.)
I've been asked how my dogs make a difference in my life.
Wow.  I honestly don't know where to begin.
My dogs are such a huge part of my life, and I can't imagine life without them in it.  Tag and Molly have been a part of our family now for nine years, and Maggie May has been with us for almost six years now.  It's almost unbelievable that there was ever a point of time when they weren't there.
I'm sure that, by now, all of you are tired of seeing photos of my dogs or hearing stories of them.  However, ya kinda have to expect that from me, especially when you see my blog header and read the title of my blog.  So... now that we've got that established... let's proceed with talking about the dogs - the ways they have enriched our lives and the lessons they have taught us along the way.;-)
Tag (a.k.a. Bubby)
Work Hard - Tag has a very strong work ethic.  In fact, he's happiest when he thinks he has a job to do.  All jobs are very important and must be taken very seriously, which brings us to another lesson Tag has taught us -
Give Everything Your All - Everything Tag does, he puts 110% into.  If you give Tag a job to do, you can count on him taking it seriously.
Loyalty - The word "loyal" is a complete understatement when it comes to Tag.  Tag is loyal to his Dad and Mom (especially Dad).  Tag would be just fine if every other human being disappeared from the planet, but if Daddy disappears from Tag's sight, he's panicking.  He is truly his daddy's best friend and loyal companion.

The girls (Maggie May and Molly) definitely have that sisterhood bond.  They are always together, and if they separate, they are looking for each other.  Maggie May looks up to Tag and Molly.  Both Tag and Molly will sometimes act like they want their little sister to get lost, but if she's not in sight, both older dogs start looking for their little sister.

Maggie May (a.k.a. Doodles)
Care Free - Maggie May has such a care free and fun spirit.  She teaches us to throw caution to the wind and just enjoy life.  Maggie May believes "If you think you can do it, then you can!"
Humor - Doodles is contantly making us shake our hears and giggle.  It's like she will forever permanently be a puppy and entertain us.

Molly (a.k.a Molly-Collie)
Complete, Unconditional, All-Encompassing Love - Molly-Collie is a sweetheart through and through.  She just radiates love... especially to her Mommy.  Molly leads with her heart in everything she does.  Heck, she won't even take her favorite possession in the world (her ball) from Maggie, because she doesn't want to upset her.  Molly lives to make you feel loved.
Express Yourself - Molly is a talker.  No... for real... she talks.  He tells me "hewwwooo" (hello) when I get home from work, and she has answered her Dad's questions with "No" or "I Know".  It's hilarious and entertaining to have her answer appropriately to questions.

Trust - The dogs trust us completely.  If we ask it of them, they are going to try to make it happen.  Sometimes, they may think we are crazy, but they will do it... for us.

Nurturing - They have also taught us to appreciate and nurture our relationships.  You have 'right now', and you don't know how long "forever" is going to be... so nurture the relationships in your life, whether they be with humans or fur-critters.
Nurture, respect, and appreciate, and you'll have no regrets.

Signs of Spring

The first day of spring is one thing,
and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them is sometimes
as great as a month.

I've been neglecting my blog lately.  Heck, I've been neglecting my camera lately.
Our weather is still more winter-like than spring-like.
I need to snap out of this slump!

Mother's Instinct

I've always enjoyed and been inspired by
watching a mother and her young
interact in nature.
Never did I think that
I'd ever have the chance to experience that
mother's instinct.
I guess you should never say "never".
Around the middle of November,
I will become a mother!
