Heads or Tails *Line*

Heads or Tails has its very own home now! If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome new HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is "Line".

Some of you may know this, but some of you may not (hehe). The hostess of Heads or Tails, Barb aka Skittles, is one of my closest friends. We were friends before she started HoT, so I was there to watch, admire, appreciate, and respect all the hard work and effort she put into this meme to make it such a success. She inspired me to come up with Camera-Critters - the weekend meme I host. When I told her my idea, she did nothing but encourage me and offer any help or advice she had to offer.

So... to get to the point of this whole post (hehe - I tend to ramble, don't I?!?!)...
This week was #11 for Camera-Critters, and we had 95 (YES that is NINETY-FIVE) Camera-Critters participants! (I'm still working on visiting everyone's posts - please be patient with me) I am honored and touched beyond words. Yes, y'all have made me speechless, which is quite an accomplishment ;-)

So... (Oh yeah, what way my point again??? Oh yeah - Line... line). The whole point of this post (hey, there's a point at the end of a line right? Isn't there? OK nevermind)... What I wanted to do with this post was ____________________ (see that line? hehe)

I wanted to drop a few LINES to ALL of the Camera-Critters participants, Barb - my special friend who encouraged me and inspired me, Tammy and Sanni - who both also encouraged me and provided much appreciated assistance, to say "Thank You!" Y'all have really made CC special, and I am grateful beyond words.

Camera Critters #8

(c) Misty DawnS

By popular demand... well, the demand of Tammy and Hubs, I HAD to post this photo for the Camera-Critters post on this blog this week. I certainly wouldn't want to go against the wishes of the man I vowed to spend the rest of my life with AND one of my very best friends!

You see, I came home and was very excited about some close-up bird photos I took. So, I was showing Hubs my photos, and, as I was scrolling through them, he stopped me at this horse photo and went all crazy over this photo and kept telling me how good it is, as I sat there insisting that he was NOT paying attention to the photos which I thought were even better. Nope, I couldn't get his attention off of this one. Then, I e-mail a bunch of pics to Tam, and was telling her over the instant messenger about these birds that let me get SO close to get photos. What happened? She starts sending me these excited messages over the IM about how great 'that horse photo' is! *smacking forehead now* So, just a minute ago, I was chatting with her again, and I said I was trying to decide which photos to use for my CC posts this week, and Tammy replied "THE HORSE!" Geesh, don't get your ostrich feathers in a ruffle Woman, I'm posting the horse! (hehehe)

Now, if you want to see my and Bear's favorite photos of that day, click on over to Misty's Words. :-)

Do you want to join the Sunday meme all about animal/critter photos? Clicking on the post header graphic will take you to the blog where you can sign in if you have made a post, and you can visit other Camera-Critters Captures. Or, clicking HERE will take you to the rules.

BBFF Ode - Happy Blogoversary

I talked to her (online) until just a couple of minutes ago. So, no, I'm not pouting. You see, my BBFF's ONE YEAR Blogoversary is TODAY!!! So, I decided to re-post a poem I wrote for her (a totally silly and goofy poem) when she was having computer problems and I couldn't 'chat' with her all night like I've grown accustomed to (and dependent upon). She's awesome - I love her - It was 'intended' and 'arranged' for us to find this friendship (I believe that with no doubt) - Go tell her Happy Blogoversary... it will make her day and she totally deserves it! You'll be a better person for knowing her!

Ode to my BBFF

Here I sit
Oh so sad
I miss the best BBFF
that I ever had.

We usually talk
for hours on end
and if someone is rude to one
the other is quick to defend.

We're experts on
data, reboot, and a good ol' hard drive clean
And we laugh like a dork and moron
when people don't know what we mean.

My BBFF, well
we thought it was a worm she had
turns out that
it was just her components gone bad.

Maybe it was the fault of her 'girls'
with which she's been blessed
the computer took one look
and it's data became all a mess!

Whatever the cause,
it has got me outta whack
I miss my BBFF
and I want our nightly chat back!

You see this poem
I should really stop
For, I've got so many
blogs I should hop.

But I'm finding
no matter how hard I try
It's just not the same
and I know exactly why.

I don't have that box
at the bottom of my screen that blinks
when she sends me a new message
or tells me to go check out a link.

So here I sit
like a sad bump on a log
without my BBFF to talk with
I don't want to hop blogs

How did I ever do it
before I met her?
I'm sure I did OK,
but how? I'm just not sure.

A lasting effect on me
this friendship has had
Daily, I think of 'moments'
and I start giggling like mad.

She's also been there
when I've needed her most.
We may physically be miles apart
but she always seems close.

But now she's not here
and I miss her so
and it sure makes me realize
I love her more than she'll ever know.

:-) Love, Misty (Dork) Dawn

Thoughts, Prayers, Wishes... Please

Yesterday was my best-friend-since-4th-grade's birthday. Yes, she was born on tax day. So, I told her that she wouldn't be receiving a birthday gift from me, because all my money went to the government ;-)

Anyway, we got to talking about the 'things-happening-in-threes' theory that she and I always believed in and watched out for while we were growing up. Last week, she had three horrible things happen to people she knew, and she commented that she certainly hoped the rule of three-things was true, because that would mean the bad things were done. I hope so too, because the stories she told me were horrible and heartbreaking.

Now, I've got my own incident of threes here, and, of course, I am coming to my friends in the blogosphere for your help. I'm asking for your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, healing wishes, chants... whatever it is you do to hope and ask for someone to recover. I know you all will want to do this for me, because some of these people are fellow bloggers and loved dearly within the blogosphere.

Sanni - One of my most favorite people - I love this girlie so much! Sanni and little Hamster 2.0 have been ordered to hang out in bed and take is very easy. Seems that Hamster is a little too anxious to check out her brand new furniture in her room and all those adorable outfits waiting for her. She decided to start giving her mommy some pains, which caused concern and landed both of them in bed, which is causing Sanni to have cabin fever, as you can imagine. So, please keep Sanni and Hamster in you thoughts for health, strength, and calmness (so Hamster doesn't get any ideas about hurrying to get out and see her pretties again).

Barb/Skittles - Y'all know by now that Barb has become one of my dearest and best friends. Well, she has had A LOT on her plate lately. It isn't my place to go into detail, but she has been dealing with a lot, and I'm very proud of how strong she has been through it all, because I most certainly would not be able to be as strong as she has been. Well, now to top it all off - she is physically ill. While trying to sort things through and remain strong, she needed some time away from blogging. So, I assumed that was why she wasn't online yesterday. I was wrong. She is very sick, and, again, it isn't my place to tell her story... she will inform you when she gets back to blogging. However, it may not be my place to give you details, but it most certainly is my place as a friend to ask for thoughts, prayers, healing wishes, etc. You can never have too much of that, and it can never start too soon. So, I hope she doesn't get upset with me for putting this on here, and I hope she understands why I did it.

My Hubs (this is why I have not been blog hopping as much as normal) - Remember back in February when he had what we thought was pneumonia? Well, he's sick again. He has been very sick for over a week. He has the symptoms he had then, but, also has more symptoms. And, the symptoms are more disturbing and changing each day! At first, when we figured it was just the flu, I was not worried, and was just taking care of him and trying to help him get well. However, he's still not well, and I'm beginning to think we are dealing with something other than the flu here. I would think that, if it were the flu, I would have certainly contracted it by now. I mean, I'm just in too close of contact here in this tiny box house to have not got the germs. Besides, some of the symptoms are not normal flu symptoms, and, if you knew my husband, you would know that he never gets 'normal' illnesses. (Right LMQ & LMK?) Hubs tells me not to worry. He has told people that the reason Misty hasn't caught what he has is because "Misty is too mean to get sick." Ya know, you'd think someone who is being waited on hand and foot by you and being taken care of by you would be a little more appreciative! hehehe. However, I've discovered that Hubs is a little more concerned about his symptoms than he has let on, and that makes his worry-obsessed wife even more worried.

I'm going to blow the rule of threes and add another person to this list...

Colin from Life - I do not know Colin very well, but he is a very special friend to one of my very best friends, Tammy. Colin has been MIA for over a week now. He has not blogged, is not answering e-mails, and as far as we can tell, has not been online at all. Considering that Colin has a chronic condition, Tammy is very worried about her friend. Since she and I are both obsessive worriers, I can certainly understand what she is going through worrying about someone she cares about, and not being able to find anything out at all. So, please add Colin to your thoughts, and also add Tammy to your thoughts to give her peace of mind. If anyone out there happens to have personal contact with Colin and knows what is going on - PLEASE contact Tammy and let her know.

I truly believe in the power of positive energy, good thoughts, prayers, and love. So, please, keep these people in your thoughts. I'd really appreciate it.

If I Were... (a meme)

Tag is introducing this post, because I've been tagged for a meme.
Get it? My dog is Tag, and I've been tagged. Yes, I'm really good at being corny!(c) Misty DawnS

I was tagged by Tammy to do the "If I Were" meme. It's really long. So, if you want to read my answers to the meme, grab a beverage, get comfy, and click the "Read More" link.

If I were a direction I’d be… Lost (I'm horrible with directions)

If I were furniture I’d be… either a Filing Cabinet (my husband says I never forget anything and always file stuff away in my brain for future use) or I'd be outdoor furniture (because I prefer to be outside).

If I were a liquid I’d be… caffeinated (coffee, pop, whichever - I don't care)

If I were a sin I’d be… doomed at having a chance at self-resurrection (Hey, that's what the Minister said last Sunday - I was paying attention!)

If I were a gem/stone I’d be… Flint (Yes, I know it sounds weird, but you can make tools and arrow heads out of it and you can start fires with it... so, it's very useful and handy to have! So there!)

If I were a metal I’d be… Steel (I should be - we surely spent enough money on it for the house roof, and the sides and roof of the equipment building!!!)

If I were a tree I’d be… A Buckeye (Go Ohio State!)

If I were a fruit I’d be… an Apple (Give me a break - we had an orchard and are considering starting an orchard here too. Besides, there are all sorts of varieties, and they keep the doctor away)

If I were a flower I’d be… A Snap Dragon (Love you Grandma!)

If I were weather I’d be… Misty (ahahahahahaha, sometimes I crack myself up)

If I were a music instrument I’d be… A guitar (strum me Baby hehehe)

If I were an element I’d be… Earth

If I were a color I’d be… Purple! (Duh!)

If I were an animal I’d be… oh, g, I dunno... hmmmm... this is a tough one... oh, maybe a DOG (DUH!)

If I were a sound I’d be… A sigh (is this meme ever gonna end?)

If I were a lyric I’d be… "I can forgive you, but I won't re-live you." (from I Want To Be Loved by Bon Jovi)

If I were a song I’d be… "Redneck Woman" by Gretchen Wilson (Hell yeah!)

If I were a music type I’d be… a mix of Country and Rock

If I were a perfume/cologne I’d be… Obsession (are y'all even still reading this???)

If I were a feeling I’d be… Sentimental (Yeah, I'm just a big mushy sap)

If I were a book I’d be… A Collection of Short (or not so short, since I tend to ramble) Stories

If I were food I’d be… Pizza (most people love pizza)

If I were a city I’d be… really upset, because I don't like the city

If I were a taste I’d be… Sweet (But, I already am *hehe*)

If I were a scent I’d be… the sent of Ben Gay or muscle cream (goes with the Fibro), but I'd prefer to be the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies ;-)

If I were a word I’d be… Friend

If I were a verb I’d be… Care

If I were an object I’d be… A Collar (Then I'd always be hugging my doggies)

If I were a piece of clothing I’d be… A Bra (That's the closest I'll ever get to having boobs, besides, I'm very supportive ahahahahaha... y'all still reading this?)

If I were a body part I’d be… An Eye (I'm a photographer - I SEE beauty everywhere) or A Left Hand (I'm left handed *grin*)

If I were an facial expression I’d be… A smile (Or, I'd be sticking my tongue out at the webcam)

If I were a cartoon character I’d be… tracking down Wile E. Coyote to break the news that he won't ever catch the Roadrunner

If I were a movie I’d be… "Dreamer" (that movies makes me cry every time, by the way, which refers us back to the "If I were a feeling" question)

If I were a geometrical figure I’d be… A Star (just to be different hehehehehe)

If I were one of the 4 seasons I’d be… Summer (DUH!)

If I were a sentence I’d be… grammatically correct and full of adjectives - OK, a sentence... hmmm... Dogs are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole. (OK, I stole borrowed that - it's a quote by Roger Caras)

If you are bored outta your mind are a glutton for punishment need to waste lots of time would like to do this meme, then be my guest :-)

Ode To My BBFF

(c) Misty DawnS

Yep, I was like a sad puppy dog last night. You see, my BBFF is having serious problems with her computer. No, I'm not just joking around about her 'hard drive' or her 'disk drive'. She is seriously having computer problems, and I'm not liking it at all! Yesterday, she was unable to get online for most of the day, because a very good friend of hers is remotely trying to fix her issues the computer. Heck, I don't even know if she was able to access a dos command line, because for most of the day I was unable to chat with her. So, last night, when she wasn't online, I wrote her a silly poem. After sending her an e-mail of the silly poem, her screen name popped up on my instant messenger. So, I got to talk to her for a while! We're still waiting to see if her computer is completely fixed though. After reading the poem I wrote for her, she kept asking me to post it.

"It's absolutely silly." I replied, "I could write you a much better poem."

"No," she said, "It's funny, and I love it."

I wish an absolutely goofy and silly poem were exactly what is needed to scare her computer into straightening its act up! However, I doubt it. So, I'm just glad it made her smile and laugh.

So, since she's bigger than me and could beat me up to make her happy, I'll post the poem. Please, keep in mind this poem is completely goofy and was just thrown together very late at night in an attempt to make my friend smile.

Ode to my BBFF
Here I sit
Oh so sad

Heads or Tails *Who You Want to Meet*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It is LOTS of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Tails - Who would you like to meet and why.

Well, you all know that I desperately want to meet (face-to-face) my BBFF Tammy. Why? Because she's fabulous - that's why! Because she makes me laugh out loud when I've spent the rest of my day in tears. Because we have some much in common and learn about more things we have in common every time we talk, which happens to be everyday. And, because we are going to laugh our booties off when we out-fish our husbands!

So, yes, I want to meet and hang out with this hot mama (she's on the right - doesn't she have beautiful eyes???) -
I would also love to meet and hang out with Stacey, Jen/Gi, Cat, D, and Bubba's Sis. And Barb. And Autumn. And... oh my, there are so many of my online blogging friends I would love to meet!

Oh, and I certainly would love to meet my very special friends from the forum where we talk about the Sara Donati/Rosina Lippi books and our lives in general. Robyn, Michelle, Soup, Judy, Kathy, Marg, Sally, Kenzie... Oh yeah - we'd have a blast, that's for sure! Heck, we'll have Rosina join us when we meet up - how cool would that be ?!?!

As far as celebrities - Oh just a few, such as Martina McBride, the entire crew of Bon Jovi, Jennifer Nettles, the entire Little Big Town band, Sheryl Crow, Tom Hanks, Robyn Williams, Julia Roberts, Hugh Laurie... yeah, just a few ;-)

And, someday, maybe I will meet up with my half-sister. I can explain to her why I never... why I couldn't, be there to meet her. Possibly, she already knows, but I hope that isn't the case, because that would mean she has felt and endured the same things I did. I sincerely hope it is different for her. Maybe it sounds completely illogical, but I hope that she has no idea why I have never been around, because if she does know and understand, then it means she has been through it too.

She's Fabulous

See that totally Hawwwwwt and wonderful mommy helping her most adorable son blow out his birthday candles? Well, I'm here to tell you that hot, wonderful, considerate, caring mommy has been nominated for some Bloggers Choice awards! Not surprising is it?

Let me tell you about the most recent week in her life... she had a migraine which left her unable to function one evening/night... to be followed up with a visit from some family during which her great-niece accidentally tipped a very large aquarium and flooded the entire living room - said living room carpet will eventually need to be replaced... her pre-teen daughter and friends messed up the computer and left her unable to focus on her income or anything else other than getting the computer working again... she thought she had (and was looking forward to) a day without children (she does daycare in her home), until a family member showed up with three kids for her to take care of until late that night...

That's just a week people - AND

through all of that going on in her own life - her own things to deal with... she still found out that her friend was fighting a depression and felt hopeless over it... she took the time to get in touch, be the considerate, goofy, fun, and silly friend she is... she made that friend laugh - she made that friend think about fun, silly, and outright ridiculous things - she made that friend feel loved... she...

she helped that friend see a light and feel some strength against a dark cloud which that friend hadn't been able to find before.

In my opinion - someone as special as that deserves our votes - in my opinion - it is MY mission to tell you how wonderful she is - my mission to tell you that she is up for these awards - my mission to ask you to please click HERE and then click on her sidebar and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE vote for her - she deserves it - she's fabulous!

Band Meme

The one and only Mimi threatened me with the dungeon and torture if I did not follow her orders and complete this meme. Since I think I'm allergic to both dungeons AND torture, you will find the completed meme below ;-)

Here's how it works - You are about to have your own band's CD cover. Follow these directions to the letter.

Go to......

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

So, here it is - my band's debut CD (we're gonna be as big as Elvis and the Beatles one day!)...
Hmmm... I think a couple more people need to do this meme... such as...
Tammy
and
Stacey

Slow Down

I need time to slooooooooooow down! I'm running behind again... way, way, way behind on reading and commenting on blogs (G, I wonder if it is because I am subscribed to over 80 blogs... I mean it takes half a day to read them all... I know, I know, I'm an addict).

But, but, but - Did you see that I got my own domain name? Yup - for both blogs :-) That was what kept me from blogging yesterday. Tammy and I got our own domain names for our blogs and got them all set up. How cool is that?

So, that was one of the goals for my blogs I had set for 2008 - to get my own domain names. I get to cross something off the list - wooohooo! I love crossing things off my list! I also have a goal to make this blog three-columns... but that's scary as *&^%! I'm SO afraid I will really mess everything up! So, for now, I'll keep procrastinating on that goal.

As far as the depression-monster - I'm beating it - oh yea, I am! My chat with Tammy yesterday did wonders for me (She's the best cashew I've ever met! Eh, don't ask!) And, I even got to talk to LMQ for a little bit - which was absolutely wonderful, because I hardly ever get to talk to her anymore, and I really miss her.

So, I've got a LOT of catching up to do... blogs to read, comments to make, awards to post and hand out, memes to fulfill. But, first...

I have to go on a walk and try to find the hawk that almost decapitated me yesterday. Yup, I was walking along, with the camera turned on so I wouldn't miss a good photo opportunity. What I wasn't expecting was a giant hawk to come flying out of some brush I was walking by and about take my head off! I just exclaimed "&%^*" and didn't even get a photo! So - I'm off to find that bird!

Attention Blogging Buddies

In 2007, I was introduced to blogging. With that introduction, I was blessed with the discovery of so many indescribably special friendships. These friendships know no boundaries or restrictions due to distance. These friends got to know 'me', the true me, without the distractions of physical issues which sometimes prevent someone from taking the time to get to know the real person.
In six short months, these friends have stood by me when I was sad, scared, confused, lost, worried, nervous, angry, and depressed. These same friends have celebrated with me, cheered me on, laughed with me, and joined in with me when I was in a silly mood.
When we first arrived for our holiday visit, I immediately raced to the nearest computer. My BBFF (Tammy) had received results of a biopsy, and I had been traveling and unable to be there with her and find out the news. I knew it would be good news through, because I had prayed so much that God was going to make it OK just so He could get me to shut up ;-) As I anxiously checked my e-mail, I was asked "Is this 'one of those online friends'?" "Well, I met her online. Does that answer your question?"
Then I heard it... I knew is was coming, and I have become more and more intolerable of this comment or way of thinking... "So, she's not a REAL friend then?"
I just smiled and calmly replied, "Oh yes, she's a real friend. I have many wonderful 'real' friends whom I've never met face-t0-face, yet I say prayers for them every night. They have real families and real lives. They have real feelings and emotions, real worries, real dreams, real ideas, and real talents. These friendships are REAL blessings, which I wouldn't trade for anything. And, honestly, sometimes I think these friendships are more 'real' than others, because with these friendships, you get to know the 'real' person and that is what the friendship is based upon. Am I real? You don't doubt that I'm real; just like Tammy's son, daughter, and husband certainly have no doubts that Tammy is real. And, I have no doubt that these friendships are real!"

That was the first night I arrived, and, after that, my online friendships were not questioned again.

These friends I keep referring to, of course, are all of you! I am thankful for the opportunity to meet all of you. I am thankful for everything you have done for me. I am thankful for the friendships you have given me. I am looking forward to being friends through this next year. I am thankful that you are REAL.

A Long Meme

I know I just did a meme for my last post, but my favorite Moron of all, Tammy, just contacted me to let me know she tagged me for another meme. Since she's my BBFF, and she means the absolute world to me, I'm going to do this meme... right now... immediately... for her :-)

1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now? Irish Spring

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator? Nope - it's Winter-time

3. What would you change about your living room?
It would be finished!!! I would have casing around the windows so I could hang some curtains, and the wind wouldn't blow in around the windows and make me freeze. My husband would drop the whole idea about tearing all the paneling and mortar off the walls (it's a really old house)... as I said - it would be finished.

4. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
My dishwasher is sitting, still in the box, in the equipment building. I used to tease my husband that if we ever built a house, he would have to build it around my dishwasher... so, when we moved here, he insisted on getting me a dishwasher... it's just not in our house yet.

5. What is in your fridge? All kinds of stuff... cranberry juice, butter, salad dressings, condiments, pickles, beer, lunchmeat, etc, etc

6. White or wheat bread? I'm a kid at heart when it comes to eating - I prefer white... but my husband always lectures me that wheat is better for me.

8. What color or design is on your shower curtain? Don't have a shower curtain-it's a door

12. Is your closet organized? Closet??? I moved into a home which didn't even have a single kitchen cupboard and you are asking me about closets??? Oh, I could totally show you the most stupid, dumbest designed closet in the world - it's in this house! Organized??? nothing in my life is organized right now!

13. Can you describe your flashlight? We use spotlights (due to countless nights of having to check for calves and lambs)... and, NONE of them are working right now.

14. Do you drink out of glass or plastic more at home? We use both - whatever gets grabbed.

18. How many pillows do you sleep with? One

19. Do you sleep with any lights on at night? I like a night light or the tv, but my husband says it bugs him.

22. What color is your toothbrush? White with purple stripes (I know - you're surprised, aren't you?)

30. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home? A little bit (a very little bit) of cash somewhere, because that's how my husband gets paid for some of the odd jobs he does.

31. What color are your walls? They have paneling on them... the living room and kitchen have brown paneling; office, bedroom, and bathroom have an off white/grayish paneling.

32. What does your home smell like right now? Eggnog Bread - I got the recipe from Bridget's blog :-) Thanks Bridget!!! Her blog, And Miles To Go Before We Sleep, is AWESOME!

33. Favorite candle scent? I like a lot of different scents... but my husband doesn't usually like smelly stuff... so, it's either a compromise or a battle LOL

34. What kind of pickles are in your refrigerator right now? Dill!!! We both love dill pickles, and neither one of us really cares for sweet or bread and butter pickles.

41. Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints? I like both - but the new furniture we got in July is solid.

42. Is there a smoke detector in your home? Nope - not yet.

I'm not tagging anyone - you can do this if you want. My BBFF and I are meme crazy - that's why I did it... for her (even if she is a moron - hehe).

Christmas Meme

I saw this meme over at Jolene's and Tammy's, so I swiped it - cuz that's how I am ;-)

  1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? - I use both. Gift bags are great for when I buy a last minute gift (like all of my gifts this year), and don't have time to wrap it.
  2. Real tree or artificial? - Artificial, although my husband prefers a real one.
  3. When do you put up your tree? We aren't this year (depressing, isn't it?) - but usually after Thanksgiving (the end of November)
  4. When do you take down the tree? Right after New Year's
  5. Do you like eggnog? I think so - I honestly don't know if I've ever tried it LOL
  6. Favorite gift received as a child? My computer desk from my grandpa
  7. Do you have a nativity scene? No - but I want one. I have a nativity scene ornament for my tree though. My grandma's nativity scene was always a favorite of mine when we decorated.
  8. Hardest person to buy for? My aunt... when she wants something, she just goes and gets it.
  9. Easiest person to buy for? My dad, because I know him so well, which usually results in my coming up with too many ideas for him, and no ideas for anyone else LOL
  10. Worst Christmas gift you received? ('scuse me ahahahahahaha LOL -I'm still cracking up over Tammy's answer!!!) my aunt bought me my first training bra (trust me-it didn't train anything, cuz I still don't have anything which requires me to own a bra LOL) - and she hung it on my stocking... how rude!
  11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Every year I say I'm going to send cards, but I never do. I usually do send some e-mail cards. And, if I have a gift card for someone, I will put it in a card I printed.
  12. Favorite Christmas movie? The Grinch - the original one and Santa Claus with Tim Allen
  13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? huh??? I was supposed to start already? It all depends. I'm really behind this year... really behind.
  14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No.
  15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My grandma used to make these cookie/candy-type things called Meringues. I used to watch where she hid them, so there would still be some for Christmas. On Christmas day, I would sneak in the closet and get them and go walking into the living room with the can full o meringues in my hand... I would literally get mobbed - I, being the littlest one in the family, would be on the bottom of the pile of aunts, uncles, and cousins. hehe. And, my dad's hot chocolate (it's the best and brings back special memories)
  16. Clear lights or colored lights on your tree? I like all the colors I can possibly get - I also like flashing/blinking/chasing lights. Unfortunately, my grandma and aunt couldn't stand blinking lights, and now I married a man who doesn't like them either.
  17. Favorite Christmas song? Silent Night (just like Tammy - go figure) - but I like LOTS of other ones too... so this is a very unfair question!
  18. Travel at Christmas or stay st home? This is the first visit to my family since the move - we're traveling!
  19. Can you name all Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen... but do you recaaaaaaaaaalllll - the most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph.
  20. Angel on top of tree or star? We have both - I make my husband pick between them each year
  21. Open presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? Well, we'll be opening with my aunts, uncles, and cousins on the 22nd (cuz of work schedule conflicts). With my dad it will be Christmas day. My husband and I dont' exchange gifts.
  22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The stress of getting everything done, and the money being spent. Oh, and I hate, hate, driving in Winter weather.
  23. What I love most about Christmas? Spending time with my family.
