Blogoversary

One year ago today, in an attempt to make one of my very best friends stop nagging happy, I picked up my laptop, did a search for a thing called Blogger, and step-by-step started something called a blog. I had no idea what I would do with it, but this friend insisted it would become an outlet and a passion for me. Since she had never steered me wrong before, I gave it a shot. As always, she was right, and I quickly became a BA (Blogging Addict).
(c) Misty DawnS

One year ago today, I began throwing my emotions, thoughts, ideas, and creative creations out into this thing called "The Blogosphere". What in the heck was I thinking? I was certainly setting myself up for rejection. These people, all around the world, would certainly laugh at me and wonder exactly why I thought they would care to read my words, see my photos, or share in my life.
(c) Misty DawnS

It wasn't long before I started developing friendships. These friendships were with people whom I had never seen in person or even heard the sound of their voice, but people who reached out and touched my heart just as strong as any relationship I had ever encountered. The power of these friendships inspired me and would evoke such emotion that I would be overwhelmed by how much these people had come to mean to me in such a short period of time.
(c) Misty DawnS

I found myself thinking, "I can't wait to get home and tell them about this." Or, eagerly booting up my computer to post a new photo or a new story. I found myself adding a long list of friends to my daily prayers. I found myself crying for my friends' losses, cheering for their accomplishments, and giving thanks for their blessings. I would anxiously wait for news from a doctor, eagerly anticipate the birth of a baby, and laugh at the antics of stubborn pets. I found my desire to share in my friends' lives was just as strong as my desire to have them want to share in mine.
(c) Misty DawnS

Now, I find myself at an overwhelming and hectic part of life, which has actually caused me to consider leaving The Blogosphere. This is not because I do not love it here, but because I have an overwhelming sense of guilt for not managing to find the time to regularly 'visit' these friends and let them know what they mean to me. However, for as many times as I have considered giving it up, I have found twice as many reasons of why I couldn't possibly completely step away. It has become too much a part of me. All of you have become too much of a part of me.

One year ago today, I thought I would develop a blog...
Instead, I found myself developing some of the greatest friendships
with which I have ever been blessed.

Thoughts, Prayers, Wishes... Please

Yesterday was my best-friend-since-4th-grade's birthday. Yes, she was born on tax day. So, I told her that she wouldn't be receiving a birthday gift from me, because all my money went to the government ;-)

Anyway, we got to talking about the 'things-happening-in-threes' theory that she and I always believed in and watched out for while we were growing up. Last week, she had three horrible things happen to people she knew, and she commented that she certainly hoped the rule of three-things was true, because that would mean the bad things were done. I hope so too, because the stories she told me were horrible and heartbreaking.

Now, I've got my own incident of threes here, and, of course, I am coming to my friends in the blogosphere for your help. I'm asking for your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, healing wishes, chants... whatever it is you do to hope and ask for someone to recover. I know you all will want to do this for me, because some of these people are fellow bloggers and loved dearly within the blogosphere.

Sanni - One of my most favorite people - I love this girlie so much! Sanni and little Hamster 2.0 have been ordered to hang out in bed and take is very easy. Seems that Hamster is a little too anxious to check out her brand new furniture in her room and all those adorable outfits waiting for her. She decided to start giving her mommy some pains, which caused concern and landed both of them in bed, which is causing Sanni to have cabin fever, as you can imagine. So, please keep Sanni and Hamster in you thoughts for health, strength, and calmness (so Hamster doesn't get any ideas about hurrying to get out and see her pretties again).

Barb/Skittles - Y'all know by now that Barb has become one of my dearest and best friends. Well, she has had A LOT on her plate lately. It isn't my place to go into detail, but she has been dealing with a lot, and I'm very proud of how strong she has been through it all, because I most certainly would not be able to be as strong as she has been. Well, now to top it all off - she is physically ill. While trying to sort things through and remain strong, she needed some time away from blogging. So, I assumed that was why she wasn't online yesterday. I was wrong. She is very sick, and, again, it isn't my place to tell her story... she will inform you when she gets back to blogging. However, it may not be my place to give you details, but it most certainly is my place as a friend to ask for thoughts, prayers, healing wishes, etc. You can never have too much of that, and it can never start too soon. So, I hope she doesn't get upset with me for putting this on here, and I hope she understands why I did it.

My Hubs (this is why I have not been blog hopping as much as normal) - Remember back in February when he had what we thought was pneumonia? Well, he's sick again. He has been very sick for over a week. He has the symptoms he had then, but, also has more symptoms. And, the symptoms are more disturbing and changing each day! At first, when we figured it was just the flu, I was not worried, and was just taking care of him and trying to help him get well. However, he's still not well, and I'm beginning to think we are dealing with something other than the flu here. I would think that, if it were the flu, I would have certainly contracted it by now. I mean, I'm just in too close of contact here in this tiny box house to have not got the germs. Besides, some of the symptoms are not normal flu symptoms, and, if you knew my husband, you would know that he never gets 'normal' illnesses. (Right LMQ & LMK?) Hubs tells me not to worry. He has told people that the reason Misty hasn't caught what he has is because "Misty is too mean to get sick." Ya know, you'd think someone who is being waited on hand and foot by you and being taken care of by you would be a little more appreciative! hehehe. However, I've discovered that Hubs is a little more concerned about his symptoms than he has let on, and that makes his worry-obsessed wife even more worried.

I'm going to blow the rule of threes and add another person to this list...

Colin from Life - I do not know Colin very well, but he is a very special friend to one of my very best friends, Tammy. Colin has been MIA for over a week now. He has not blogged, is not answering e-mails, and as far as we can tell, has not been online at all. Considering that Colin has a chronic condition, Tammy is very worried about her friend. Since she and I are both obsessive worriers, I can certainly understand what she is going through worrying about someone she cares about, and not being able to find anything out at all. So, please add Colin to your thoughts, and also add Tammy to your thoughts to give her peace of mind. If anyone out there happens to have personal contact with Colin and knows what is going on - PLEASE contact Tammy and let her know.

I truly believe in the power of positive energy, good thoughts, prayers, and love. So, please, keep these people in your thoughts. I'd really appreciate it.

Pawsing to Say Thank You

See that little kitty? It is thanking all of you for sharing your photos and making the premier of the Camera-Critters Meme a HUGE success! I am overwhelmed with appreciation to all of you for taking the time to participate.
We were blessed with photos of a variety of critters. We saw a critter as small as an ant (OK, it WAS an ant) to huge elephants! We saw dogs, cats, a lizard, and a guinea pig. While we didn't see someone dressed in equestrian clothing, while riding a horse, we did see a pony! Oh yes, it was an awesome critter weekend! The photos were absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait to see what critters everyone shares next weekend.

So, my friends, I just had to take the opportunity to tell all of you...
Bloggers are the best!

Celebrating 500 with a Tribute to YOU

It has to be good...
NO, it has to be excellent!
It must be significant.
It should be touching.
It needs to be just right.

This is what went through my mind ALL day yesterday. This is what went through my mind while I attempted to determine what was going to be worthy of being my 500th post. However, that worthy post eluded me yesterday, and I sat brain dead and just starting at the compose post screen.

Then, at midnight, while half asleep, my brain decided to go into high-gear and composed a most magnificent post. Unfortunately, I was too dang tired to get up and create the post. Therefore, of course, that post has now been lost out there in dreamland. Well, the post I devised in my sleep has been lost, but the idea of the post, the meaning of the post, the whole concept and reason for the post... Ahhhh, I still have that. So... here it is...

The number of posts which have appeared on this blog is completely insignificant when compared to the reasons for those posts. The reasons for those posts are you, my friends. I have gained so many friends throughout the world, and I am thankful beyond expression. When I began blogging, I never could have imagined what I would gain and find here in the Blogosphere. I never imagined that I would have friends, whom I had never met in person or, some of whom I don't even know their real names, yet, would do anything in my power to be there for them if they were in need.

So, my friends, this 500th post is a tribute to some of the greatest people I have ever had the chance to get to know.

The Lawn Mower Queen
One of my very dearest friends. I am so lucky that when I married my husband, I got the blessing of calling you, LMK, your mom, brother, and dad my family. Your friendship means more to me than I can possibly put into words, which is probably a good thing, because I know you aren't big on 'all the mushy stuff'. Thanks for convincing me to join the blogging world!
Bear
Ahhh, my fellow-nature-and-critter-loving friend, who is just as obsessed with nature photography as I. Who would have know that a simple question in my Flickr mailbox would evolve into such a very special friendship. I am thankful for that friendship, for your patient answers to my questions, for your explanations, and for the laughs you provide (not to mention the hundreds of critters you have identified for me hehe).
Stacey
Jen
D...
Bubba's Sis
I group the four of you together, because well, that's just the way it should be! You were four of the first friends I found in the Blogosphere, and I have come to know and love you and your families beyond words. Stacey always lifts me up with her faith and the love she so generously showers on everyone (and she always makes me giggle). Jen/Gi, your stories are amazing and your sense of humor is outstanding and refreshing. D and B/S, I love you both separately as individuals, but even more, I love and admire the friendship you share with each other. You are both fantastically talented and unbelievably fun!
You are four beautiful women, inside and out.
Skittles
a.k.a. Barb. Wow - where do I begin? When I first found your blog, I was inspired. Your blog had posts that provided everything - fun, humor, entertainment, insight, emotions. It's all there. The first time you ever commented on my blog, I felt like I had just shook hands with a celebrity ;-) I mean, Skittles, she's famous! Now, I find myself saying thanks in my prayers every night for having been given the opportunity to develop this friendship with you. You have become one of my best friends. I will always be there to offer my friendship and support to you (and to try to convince Mike to let me play with his R/C cars *grin*). You have given me support, encouragement, laughs, understanding, compassion, and love. I can't begin to say what you mean to me.
Autumn
Ahhhh, my emotional-twin. If I had a dime for each time we thought along similar lines, I'd have that camera for sure! At first, I was always surprised at how often we thought alike. Now, I just laugh and say "We're doing it again!"
And, your poetry... the words and feelings you write... You are amazingly talented, and your words always touch me and reach out and grab a hold of my emotions.
Tammy
Where do I begin? Never ever in a million years would I have guessed that I would consider someone whom I have never met in person to be one of the best friends I have ever had. Never would I have guessed that I would do anything within my power if I knew this person needed me. I can only believe that our friendship was intended. There is no other explanation for it. I love you with all my heart, and our friendship is one of the most special gifts I have ever been blessed with. Now that I have met you, I don't know what I would do without you. (Besides, you are the craziest, corniest, moronic cashew I have ever met hehe)
Jolene
She no longer blogs, but she is a great person. I had the opportunity to talk to her on the phone recently, and she is loads of fun to talk to, and I wish her the best in life.
Bridget
Where'd you go, my friend? I miss you and your blog! One of the most inspiring people I have ever met. I don't know how she gets everything done that she does. She is amazing, loving, and inspiring.
Janice
I am often grateful for your ability to put into words the hard-truth of the matter, and also throw some witty sarcasm in for good measure. You have made me laugh out loud, smile, nod my head in agreement, and cry. You are an absolutely fantastic person, and I thank you for your friendship.
Bradley
A wonderful friend and person, with one of the most special families ever! Bradley, the Beautiful Wife, Bradley's Mom, and Sammy (my sweet, precious, adorable, and famous Sammy)... I love this whole family. Besides, if I don't get at least a weekly fix of Sammy-adorableness, I start shaking and going into withdrawals! I'm serious - that boy's adorableness is totally addicting!
Sanni
Another one of my greatest and most special friends! I would have never guessed that one of the people I hold closest to my heart (and one of my most special doggy-friends) would reside in Germany! You are absolutely gorgeous, my friend, inside and outside *grin*. I thank you for all of your help, all of your kind words of support and encouragement, and, most importantly, this fabulous and fun friendship! You are an absolute doll. I love you.
David
One of my role models, and, always, an inspiration to me. Your talents are outstanding, and your blog and posts give me the inspiration and encouragement to keep reaching for my goals. You are also a fantastic friend, and I thank you.
Linda
Your relationship with your daughters is so very special. You have a wonderful talent for writing, and I thank you for your friendship and support.
Rachel
Inspirational, beautiful, and loving - those words describe you.
Holly
A great person and mother, with an absolutely adorable son.
Ann
Ahhh, another one of my role models and inspirations. You are an amazing friend and person, Ann. I thank you for everything.
Sandee
Your blog always brings a smile to my face (and often makes me choke on my beverage *grin*). You are a fabulous person and a great friend.
Christy
A great person and writer, with wonderful determination and spirit. Thank you for your friendship.
Smalltown RN
A fantastic, caring, and intelligent person, who is also a very special friend.
BeccA
Your faith is inspiring and heart-warming. I thank you for taking the time to help me when I've needed it, and for the encouragement and friendship you have given me.
Anna
An amazing person, with wonderful talent and skill. You are a great friend, and I am so thankful I met you!
Vic
Your posts always teach me something, touch my heart, and make me smile. You truly are a one-of-a-kind and very special friend.
Carrie
A great mom and special person who is energetic and puts 110% into everything.
Terri
I still think we should go on a photo shoot together, although we'd probably spend too much time talking and laughing and too little time taking photos. Hey, we'd have an absolute blast though!
Travis
A spectacular person, who puts up with my going on and on about my precious Cleveland Indians. You rock, Trav!
Akelamalu
A truly considerate person and friend with a giant, generous heart. You touch so many people with your loving spirit. We are all lucky to know you.
Mimi
Your blogiting (blog + writing) talent is beyond compare. Your post are fun, thought-provoking, and sincere. You are inspirational and amazing.
Dottie
A very special person, whom I am so thankful to have met. You're a sweetheart, and I love you, my friend.
Cathy
You have fantastic writing talent, and I'm always excited when I see a new post. Sometimes, the similarities in our lives are very uncanny, but it is also so encouraging to know that someone else has the same experiences and feelings and is able to relate. Your posts always bring out so many emotions for me, whether I'm laughing out loud or shedding tears.
Siani
A talented writer and photographer who isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. You're a great person, and I thank you for all your support.
Kasey
I SO want to grab my camera and come hang out at your place! I want to meet all your wildlife friends and sit with you in your office, chatting and watching the birds at your feeders.
Chica
You say you don't deserve the title "photographer", but your awesome talent proves otherwise. Not only are you a fantastic photographer, you have a spectacular spirit and personality. When I think of you, I think 'she's one awesome Chica' ;-)
CrazyCath
I just recently discovered your blog, and I am SO thankful I did. You are also fantastically talented, as both a writer and a photographer. Your "Losing Me" post is one of the greatest posts I have ever read. I look forward to a long friendship with you.
John-Michael
Knowing you has made me a better person. Your generous and loving spirit and heart are beyond compare. You are proof that there is still good and love in this world. What more can I say than - I love you John-Michael.
Colin
You help and are good to my Tammy, and that makes you A-OK in my book (besides, you have a fantastic sense of humor and always make me laugh).
Vi's Biggest Fan
We've had many similar experiences in our lives, and it helps to know that someone else understands. You are beautiful, refreshing, and fun. You also have an amazing drawing ability. I'm so glad I met you!
Stacey (Real World Mom)
You are an absolute sweetheart through and through. Thank you for all your kind and encouraging comments. Now - get over there and give Maddie lots of smooches and belly rubs for me!
Sandy
An amazing and inspirational person, whose blog always brings a smile to my face. You and I certainly need that giant ranch where all our animal friends could feel safe and loved and never be turned away. Thank you for sharing your friendship. Worldwide Group Hug

Wow! Twice this week, I have typed out a post and then sat there staring at the "Publish Post" button, because I wasn't sure if I should actually post it. I wasn't sure how the posts would be viewed or accepted, since they were coming from me, a.k.a. Miss Happy-and-Silly-and-Innocent (ok, maybe not so innocent, but only a select few of you know that *grin*).

Twice this week, I closed my eyes and just clicked the mouse, as I thought to my self, "People may wonder what the heck you are doing, and you may lose some regular visitors."

Twice this week, I was absolutely surprised at the reaction I received from my friends here and at Misty's Words. Both times, you made me feel like maybe I can still write a decent piece; sometimes it's good to share the things you feel strongly about, even if it isn't a 'happy-topic'; you really don't just use me to get a chance to see my adorable dogs (OK, maybe you do, but that's alright - I don't blame ya); but, most of all, you proved to me, once again how non-judgmental, caring, understanding, intelligent, and unconditional these blogging friendships are. Thanks for that. (Could y'all scoot a little closer together for the group hug?)

Now I'm off to enjoy my blog-hoppin' Thursday. I'd love to tell you that after blog hopping, I'm going to go sit on my teak outdoor furniture and enjoy another nice day. Unfortunately though, it's dreary, cloudy, and looks like it might rain. Oh well, they can't all be sunny days (darnit).

From Skittles

I'm posting a note from someone we all know and love - one of my bestest friends - Skittles...
From Skittles -

Misty has been so kind as to let me do some explaining here on her blog. I thank her for that. She's such a good friend to all of us.

I have deleted my blog. The reasons for doing this are personal. (Aw man.. I can't write this without crying.) I will surely miss all of you .. and I mean this from the bottom of my heart.

I have also deleted my Heads Or Tails blog. I will try to reinstate HoT as soon as possible.. maybe in a week or so. I'll probably do a regular blog again, too. You know I can't stay away forever.

Until then.. take care and God bless each and every one of you.

Barb

From Misty Dawn -
We have all loved and enjoyed your blog. It has made us laugh; it has made us think; it has made us have fun; and has made us cry and feel emotion... Behind every great blog is a fantastic blogger - but, even more... a fantastic person... that's what you are - a fantastic person!
We love and support you, my friend. We'll miss you and welcome you back with open arms when you decide it is time. Until that time, you know how to reach me ;-)

Heads or Tails *Who You Want to Meet*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It is LOTS of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Tails - Who would you like to meet and why.

Well, you all know that I desperately want to meet (face-to-face) my BBFF Tammy. Why? Because she's fabulous - that's why! Because she makes me laugh out loud when I've spent the rest of my day in tears. Because we have some much in common and learn about more things we have in common every time we talk, which happens to be everyday. And, because we are going to laugh our booties off when we out-fish our husbands!

So, yes, I want to meet and hang out with this hot mama (she's on the right - doesn't she have beautiful eyes???) -
I would also love to meet and hang out with Stacey, Jen/Gi, Cat, D, and Bubba's Sis. And Barb. And Autumn. And... oh my, there are so many of my online blogging friends I would love to meet!

Oh, and I certainly would love to meet my very special friends from the forum where we talk about the Sara Donati/Rosina Lippi books and our lives in general. Robyn, Michelle, Soup, Judy, Kathy, Marg, Sally, Kenzie... Oh yeah - we'd have a blast, that's for sure! Heck, we'll have Rosina join us when we meet up - how cool would that be ?!?!

As far as celebrities - Oh just a few, such as Martina McBride, the entire crew of Bon Jovi, Jennifer Nettles, the entire Little Big Town band, Sheryl Crow, Tom Hanks, Robyn Williams, Julia Roberts, Hugh Laurie... yeah, just a few ;-)

And, someday, maybe I will meet up with my half-sister. I can explain to her why I never... why I couldn't, be there to meet her. Possibly, she already knows, but I hope that isn't the case, because that would mean she has felt and endured the same things I did. I sincerely hope it is different for her. Maybe it sounds completely illogical, but I hope that she has no idea why I have never been around, because if she does know and understand, then it means she has been through it too.

She's Fabulous

See that totally Hawwwwwt and wonderful mommy helping her most adorable son blow out his birthday candles? Well, I'm here to tell you that hot, wonderful, considerate, caring mommy has been nominated for some Bloggers Choice awards! Not surprising is it?

Let me tell you about the most recent week in her life... she had a migraine which left her unable to function one evening/night... to be followed up with a visit from some family during which her great-niece accidentally tipped a very large aquarium and flooded the entire living room - said living room carpet will eventually need to be replaced... her pre-teen daughter and friends messed up the computer and left her unable to focus on her income or anything else other than getting the computer working again... she thought she had (and was looking forward to) a day without children (she does daycare in her home), until a family member showed up with three kids for her to take care of until late that night...

That's just a week people - AND

through all of that going on in her own life - her own things to deal with... she still found out that her friend was fighting a depression and felt hopeless over it... she took the time to get in touch, be the considerate, goofy, fun, and silly friend she is... she made that friend laugh - she made that friend think about fun, silly, and outright ridiculous things - she made that friend feel loved... she...

she helped that friend see a light and feel some strength against a dark cloud which that friend hadn't been able to find before.

In my opinion - someone as special as that deserves our votes - in my opinion - it is MY mission to tell you how wonderful she is - my mission to tell you that she is up for these awards - my mission to ask you to please click HERE and then click on her sidebar and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE vote for her - she deserves it - she's fabulous!

1,2,3,4,5

No, I'm not just trying to prove that I can count - I've been tagged for a meme. Tammy hobbled to her computer to tag me with a meme - bad ankle an all (which, I personally think that if it isn't better should be x-rayed to see if it is hurt worse that she is admitting - but, I guess my over-protectiveness is showing through). Tammy had a really stressful week and, since I can't be there to help her and take her mind off of the events of the week, I figure the least I can do is complete the meme she tagged me with!

1. Name one thing you do everyday.

Breathe - yup, every single day... until I stop, and then I won't 'be' anymore ;-)

2. Name two things you wish you could learn.

I would like to learn more web design things, such as HTML, graphic creation, more about web sites, etc.

I would also like to learn to be a better cook. No, I'm not a bad cook - I'm just not an experienced cook. I can follow a recipe, but when it comes to the things that good cooks just know in their heads - well, I don't have that stuff.

3. Name three things that remind you of your childhood.

- Kentucky - we had a cottage there, and it was one of my favorite places ever.
- Watermelon, Cantaloupe, and Corn on the Cob - my great uncle had a produce farm, and I spent my summers planting, picking, and selling produce. (and eating it too - yummmmmy)
- The Cosby Show - my grandmother did not like television, because she thought it took away from family interaction. However, she loved Bill Cosby and would hold me on her lap while we watched The Cosby Show together.

4. Name four things you love to eat but rarely do.

- Siciliano's Pizza (It'd take about a 14 hour drive to get me some)
- Sushi
- Aunt J's seven layer salad (Oh, how I miss it!!!)
- Whoppers (The Burger King is too far away!)

5. Name five things/people that make you feel good.

- My dogs - especially when I see them for the first time in the morning and they run as hard and fast as they can to come greet me and have me hug them.
- My dad - We've developed a relationship and bond that is indescribable
- My best friends - Tammy, LMQ, Beck, Sue and the people from the forum (although I don't get to talk to them much now) Robyn, Michelle, Soup, Judy, Marg, Kathy, Wolfy... and my online-blogging friends (there are just too many of you to list!)
- Hanging out with my cousins
- When my nieces climb up in my lap, hug me, or tell me they love me.
(and, of course, my husband... but that's a given - I mean, I married the man. Besides, whose stupid idea was it to only allow five things or people that make you feel good??? I'm a very thankful person by nature - I could give you a list a mile long to answer this question!)

I'm so behind on memes that I don't think I have the right to tag anyone. So, if you would like to do this meme, then I would love to read your answers.

You Cheer Me Up

It has become apparent to me that my post is confusing... Please click "Read More" at the bottom of this post for the list of recipients - I'm sorry for the confusion.

Look what Ann from A Nice Place in the Sun game me! I'm so touched and honored, because this woman cheers me up ALL the time. In fact, you ALL cheer me up and make me happy! Online friends are wonderful, but you already know how strongly I believe that. (I know LMQ will absolutely LOVE this award - she's a huge Lucy fan).

I have a LOT of awards to pass along and a LOT of memes I have been tagged for, but I got really far behind over the holidays, and, now, it seems that I just keep getting further behind. I'm going to start working on posting those awards and passing them along... I promise.

For this award, please go over to A Nice Place in the Sun to read her very fun and inspiring post about why she created this award.

I pass this award to:

I'm going to do a follow up to this post - to list the people, characters, authors, actors, etc who cheer me up... but that post is going to require some thought and time. So, this post is "to be continued..."

Normalcy Will Come

Won't it???

I expected everything to 'be back to normal' by now, but it's far from it.

I pictured today being my day to catch up on all my friends' blog posts which I missed while I was away. However, that catching up is going to have to wait yet another day. I was called in to work at the insurance company again today... I'm not saying that's a bad thing (my husband just purchased hay equipment, so, according to my checkbook - any money is a good thing), I'm just saying that I keep having these delusions of getting back into the routine (Misty thrives on routine). Yet, it just isn't happening yet. Plus, I haven't had the chance to really talk with my BBFF, and that is really making me down in the dumps.

So, tomorrow... yes, tomorrow, I'm planning on a day of blog-catching-up... I hope... keeping fingers crossed. Then, tomorrow we have to go to one more Christmas get together in the evening (Yes, I know, we schedule things awfully weird). After that, I'm hoping things will be back to the routine (ahhh, my precious routine).

I haven't even had a chance to catch y'all up on everything! Geesh!

I'll leave you with this wisdom which was shared with me by an elderly gentlemen I met at the post office yesterday... He told me...
"Some of the really old farmers around here say that the first six days of the year will tell you what the first six months' weather will be like."
I found this rather interesting, and I look forward, come June, to looking back and seeing is this statement holds true.
So far, according to our weather here... we are going to have one freaking cold January and February, a little colder-than-normal March... and, if we get the weather in the forecast, we'll end up with a decent April and a much warmer than usual May and June (I like the sounds of the May and June!).
Now, six months from now, I'll have to come back and see if this is true... but, right now, I've got to go to work!

Attention Blogging Buddies

In 2007, I was introduced to blogging. With that introduction, I was blessed with the discovery of so many indescribably special friendships. These friendships know no boundaries or restrictions due to distance. These friends got to know 'me', the true me, without the distractions of physical issues which sometimes prevent someone from taking the time to get to know the real person.
