BBFF's Anniversary

(c) Misty DawnS
(pink and purple on the same flower - I instantly thought of Tam and me)

One year ago today,
I sent an e-mail with a question in it
to this 'chic' I had never talked to before.
Heck, she lived clear in another country (Canada, eh?) even.

To my surprise, she answered my e-mail
and was very sweet and friendly and funny
(and H.O.T., yes, definitely H.O.T. hehe)
I decided that she was pretty cool.
(even if she is a moron).

One year ago today,
I had no idea of the
awesome and amazing friendship which would develop,
but, I sure am thankful it did!

HAPPY BBFF'S ANNIVERSARY, TAM
You have quickly become one of the
best and greatest (and Hottest, definitely hottest)
friends a girl could ever have!

You and this friendship mean more to me than words can express!

Heads or Tails *Supply*

Heads or Tails has its very own home now! If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome new HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is "Supply". So, I've reached into my supply of flower photographs, so I could supply you with some beauty today :-) I hope you enjoy and are supplied with beautiful reasons to smile today!

I love Rose of Sharon, and this friend had a very large supply of them,
so, I happily snapped away ;-)

Aren't these just beautiful?
(c) Misty DawnS

*Sigh* Mother Nature sure provides us with an
endless supply of beauty.

I Smiled

(c) Misty DawnS

Today was a long, rough day. I must admit, it was hard to put a smile on my face, but, when you work with the public, that is a must. So, I smiled, and I got through the day.

When I got home, I was greeted by a surprise package that one of my bestest buds had sent to me! There's nothing like getting an unexpected surprise in the mail. It certainly brightens your day. This very special surprise will be cherished and proudly displayed always - just as this friendship will always be cherished. Anyone who is ignorant enough to say that friendships made over the internet are not 'true' or 'real' friendships doesn't have a clue.

Here's the ironic part of it. I had just finalized the arrangements to surprise my friend with a package, but he beat me to the 'surprise punch'!

I guess gmta, Bear!
Thank you - for everything!

Flowers for Friday

(c) Misty DawnS

WooHoo - it's Friday!!! That means the weekend is almost here! I'm dreaming of Camera-Critters, lots of photos walks, and lots of chatting with my buds on the computer.

For now though, I have to put on my MSG cap and a smile and greet my customers.

... Oh, don't worry... I haven't forgotten about telling you the story that goes with my WW post. It's a fun one. So, I'm saving it. Tomorrow for Camera-Critters, I'll tell ya the story. ;-)

Must Be Organized

(c) Misty DawnS

I've been having a blast with the DSLR. The only problem is I have a habit of taking a LOT of photos and figuring I'll pick the best one later and delete the rest. However, when it comes time to do that, I don't delete them. I've always been like that. I still have about fifty floppy disks (probably half bad by now) full of photos from when I had my first digital camera my aunt gave me.

So, since I can't afford an external hard drive right now (all the big bills came due at one time - why does that always happen?), and I seriously need to get these large files off my laptop, I'm going to burn the photos to DVD. Here's my problem - I'm a bit OCD when it comes to this sort of thing. I.Must.Organize.the.Photos.in.the.Best.Manner. So - should I organize the DVDs by subject (sunsets, dogs, insects, flowers, landscapes, etc.) or by date taken? Oh, decisions, decisions!!! I don't do well with decisions! How 'bout you guys decide for me... that will make it much easier on me ;-) Besides, I've already got a headache I woke up with at 3 a.m. and I'm trying to avoid a migraine (hoping and praying against a migraine).

People 'Round These Parts

(c) Misty DawnS

Before you ask - I have absolutely NO idea what this little bitty wildflower is technically called. You see, I was out walking around our pond, and I discovered this little beauty. It is quite an unusual flower to me, because it looks as if it is shriveled up, until you look closer to discover its real beauty.

Things have been absolutely crazy and hectic at work. I must admit, however, that I do enjoy the customers. I enjoy meeting and recognizing everyone. I enjoy listening to their conversations, whether they be about the weather, farming, the equipment they use in the fields, or the saddles they are using on their horses. I enjoy their small-town friendliness and sense of humor... such as when an elderly gentleman will give me a great big smile and say "Well Honey, it sure seems like your air conditioner isn't working very well today.", because he knows full-well that I have, in fact, no air conditioner, and he is just hoping my boss will overhear and make the office more comfortable. The people here are fantastic... true, genuine, funny, and caring. That's what keeps me going... the people and the beauty of this area.

WW Flower Edition

(c) Misty DawnS

I've decided that Wordless Wednesday would be a great way for me to share some of my Summer flower photos with you. You see, I share my critters with you over the weekend, and sunsets are on Friday when I make myself find the time to post. So, I thought Wednesday would be great for flowers. However, I'm never wordless... so, consider my "WW" to stand for "Wordy Wednesday", K?

First, I have very exciting news. I'll be getting a package tomorrow, if the package tracking system is correct. It's a very special package. I'll leave you to guess what is in that package. No, it isn't horse supplies (we don't even have a horse yet, Silly), but it is something I am VERY excited about. OK, I'll leave you to think about that.

Now, Please, Please, PLEASE send prayers out to my very dear friend Jen/Gi and her very special brother Hulkman. Hulkman is in the hospital, and I've seen and experienced the amazing power of prayer so many times in my life - so, I am now asking you to please take a moment and think of Hulkman, Jen/Gi, and the entire family. If you have time, and would like to let her know you are thinking of her, then, I'd be thrilled beyond words if you would pop in on her blog and give her a few words of encouragement and support.

Thanks everyone!
I've gotta run drive to work now.

Youthful Wisdom

(c) Misty DawnS

Someday, I'll have my own flowerbeds with beautiful flowers of purple, pink, red, purple, yellow, orange, lavender, white, blue, dark purple... well, you get the idea. For now, I'm just hoping the grass seed grows and we have a yard eventually ;-) So, on Monday, I walked around full of jealousy captured the beauty in my sister-in-law's gorgeous flowerbeds.

I had a little helper too.
"Aunt Misty, what are you doing?"
"I'm taking pictures of your mommy's flowers."
"But why?"
"Because they are pretty."
"They're Mommy's flowers."
"Yes, I know Sweetie. Aren't they pretty?"
"Yeah, Mommy planted these flowers."
"I know, did you help her?"
"No, she told me to go play."
"Oh."
"Aunt Misty?"
"Yes, Sweetie."
"Why don't you go get your own flowers to take pictures of? Then, you won't have to drive so far."

(c) Misty DawnS

Well, I'd love to sit around and talk with you about used cisco and other stuff, but I've got to get to work. It's a lousy day/week -mainly because I can't keep track of everything anymore. I completely forgot about a photo contest which I wanted to enter - but you need 11x14 prints, and the deadline is June 1st - I'm such an idiot. By the way, y'all know why my transmitter for my MP3 player isn't working? How bout where Hub's insurance card is? Remind me to order the dogs' flea/tick stuff, k?

Gotta run...

My Vehicle Too?

(c) Misty DawnS

Is it already Monday again? You have GOT to be kidding me! We had a weekend in there somewhere?

Well, I must admit, I didn't enjoy the weekend like I had planned. Oh well.

Now, it is Monday, and I need to head to work at the equipment/mower dealership. I also need to find an auto parts place that does repairs, because to top off all the other worries in my head this weekend, the check engine light came on in my vehicle... the only vehicle I drive... the only vehicle which gets me back and forth to work... the only vehicle which isn't diesel. Yeah, you seen the price of diesel fuel lately? It's enough to make your heart skip several beats! Hmmmm, I wonder how many cows out here in Podunk are certified to work on a Dodge...

Oh yeah, and I need new windshield wipers too... thanks for reminding me!

Sky Watch Friday *Pink & Blue*

(c) Misty DawnS

Forgive me for posting so early, but I am exhausted and getting ready to attempt to go to sleep. I'd like to apologize for not visiting blogs like I used to, but it seems that all I've been doing lately in my posts is apologizing. My work load is not going to change, so I am just going to have to accept the fact that I am not going to be able to visit blogs as much as I used to. I will probably have to set certain days to visit. I'm still trying to figure out what will work out best and what I can handle.

Beautiful Gifts for Your Valentine

I just finished watering my plants a little bit ago. One of them has little flowers in bloom, and it made me smile. I remember my dad buying me a flowering plant last Winter and telling me that a girl needs her daddy to bring her flowers in the Winter to give her something bright and pretty to look at and smile. My dad has always been great like that!

He's right, you know. When it's gloomy and cold outside, it really helps brighten up the inside when you can see a beautiful, living plant or flower. Of course, we also have Valentine's Day right around the corner, and that's a perfect excuse to get someone you love some flowers as valentines gifts. Now, if you go to 1800flowers.com, you'll find many gifts to choose from to ensure you pick the perfect thing. I know most people love roses, but I personally love to receive a flowering plant, because I can keep it and enjoy it for years to come.
