I Morphed into a Pretty Woman

I saw this when I was visiting the blog of my very special friend, Bubba's Sis. I thought it looked like fun, and decided to try it. I wasn't really surprised at the results, because, for years, I have had many people tell me I look like this person. In fact, my own dad was the first one to ever say it. If I remember correctly, we were watching Sleeping with the Enemy when he started looking at me and then the television, and then me and back to the television. I asked what he was doing and he exclaimed, "Honey, you look like her!" After that, I started hearing it everywhere. Even perfect strangers would walk up to me and ask, "Excuse me, but do you know who you look like?" I used to reply with, "Yeah, I WISH!", because I never really saw the resemblance. Hubs says he thinks it's the smile. My buddy Bear says he doesn't see the resemblance at all... wonder what he'll say after watching this ;-)

Misty Dawn... no... Julia Roberts... no... Misty Dawn
What do you think? Is there a resemblance or not?

Fun With Costumes

You saw my previous post which included an adorable photo of my beautiful Molly happily sporting a Harley vest. Well, if you couldn't tell by the big smile on her face, she was having fun dressing up and looking cute for Mommy. Of course, after enough of the pictures, she was informing me that it was time to go play ball.

I posed pretty for you, Mommy, so now you should take me to play ball... NOW.

She has always been a mommy's girl and would do anything to please me, such as posing as a smiling, happy, Molly-mate.
I have a lot of fun coming up with ideas of different pet costumes for Molly. I promise you, though, I would not subject her to this if she seemed the least bit unhappy about it. Honestly, she seems to have as much fun with it as I do, especially when she knows we are going to play when we are done.

So, I know it seems like a long ways away, but I've been thinking that it would be fun for Molly and me to find Halloween costumes that would compliment each other. I considered a sheep and a shepherd, or a sports player (Molly) and a referee or coach (me). What do you think would be cute? NO - I will not post photos on my blog of us! Well, not without a whole lot of convincing. ;-)

Whatever we choose to dress up as, we will be able to find the costumes at buycostumes.com. In fact, they not only have costumes for pets, they also have costumes for infants, children, and adults.

Doggone Coincidence!

Oh my gosh, I am totally shaking my head and cracking up laughing right now. Because I had about two minutes before my step-son and Hubs were ready for me to join in their card game, I just took this quiz that I saw at Tina's blog. The quiz is supposed to tell you what animal you were in your past life. All you do is put in your birthday (month, day, and year). Let me tell you, I could not believe my eyes when I saw the result........ OK, maybe the result was just a little TOO PERFECT! When I showed Hubs and my step-son, they both just started laughing, especially when they saw the picture which accompanies the animal I was in my past life ;-)

You tell me... What do you think???????

You Were a Dog

You are an excellent companion and a loyal friend.

A good protector, you smell trouble before it arrives.

What Animal Were You In a Past Life?

I'm still sitting here shaking my head. I mean, seriously, what are the odds that I would put in my birth date and get the results that I was a dog. And... in case you are wondering... I don't even likedogs at all!

As far as my birthday... It's right around the corner... next week, as a matter of fact ;-)
Wanna have a party? hehehe

Enjoy Your Day the Puppy Way

Always make sure you have a great friend nearby to share your day with. Great friends make the day much more enjoyable.(c) Misty DawnS

Hold your head high and carry a big stick. What'd'ya mean someone else said that quote?
(c) Misty DawnS

You can still be cute and beautiful even with something green hanging out of your mouth.
(c) Misty DawnS

Let the wind blow through your hair. Do everything with gusto. And, always, always, run to your mommy at full speed, with a giant smile. (It helps keep you out of trouble when you slam into her at said full speed.)
(c) Misty DawnS

If that cute little puppy that keeps staring up at you from inside the water doesn't want to play...
(c) Misty DawnS

then go in search of your best friend, because no matter what, you can always count on her. (Except, she doesn't share well when it comes to food, but oh well, no one is perfect.)

If I Were... (a meme)

Tag is introducing this post, because I've been tagged for a meme.
Get it? My dog is Tag, and I've been tagged. Yes, I'm really good at being corny!(c) Misty DawnS

I was tagged by Tammy to do the "If I Were" meme. It's really long. So, if you want to read my answers to the meme, grab a beverage, get comfy, and click the "Read More" link.

If I were a direction I’d be… Lost (I'm horrible with directions)

If I were furniture I’d be… either a Filing Cabinet (my husband says I never forget anything and always file stuff away in my brain for future use) or I'd be outdoor furniture (because I prefer to be outside).

If I were a liquid I’d be… caffeinated (coffee, pop, whichever - I don't care)

If I were a sin I’d be… doomed at having a chance at self-resurrection (Hey, that's what the Minister said last Sunday - I was paying attention!)

If I were a gem/stone I’d be… Flint (Yes, I know it sounds weird, but you can make tools and arrow heads out of it and you can start fires with it... so, it's very useful and handy to have! So there!)

If I were a metal I’d be… Steel (I should be - we surely spent enough money on it for the house roof, and the sides and roof of the equipment building!!!)

If I were a tree I’d be… A Buckeye (Go Ohio State!)

If I were a fruit I’d be… an Apple (Give me a break - we had an orchard and are considering starting an orchard here too. Besides, there are all sorts of varieties, and they keep the doctor away)

If I were a flower I’d be… A Snap Dragon (Love you Grandma!)

If I were weather I’d be… Misty (ahahahahahaha, sometimes I crack myself up)

If I were a music instrument I’d be… A guitar (strum me Baby hehehe)

If I were an element I’d be… Earth

If I were a color I’d be… Purple! (Duh!)

If I were an animal I’d be… oh, g, I dunno... hmmmm... this is a tough one... oh, maybe a DOG (DUH!)

If I were a sound I’d be… A sigh (is this meme ever gonna end?)

If I were a lyric I’d be… "I can forgive you, but I won't re-live you." (from I Want To Be Loved by Bon Jovi)

If I were a song I’d be… "Redneck Woman" by Gretchen Wilson (Hell yeah!)

If I were a music type I’d be… a mix of Country and Rock

If I were a perfume/cologne I’d be… Obsession (are y'all even still reading this???)

If I were a feeling I’d be… Sentimental (Yeah, I'm just a big mushy sap)

If I were a book I’d be… A Collection of Short (or not so short, since I tend to ramble) Stories

If I were food I’d be… Pizza (most people love pizza)

If I were a city I’d be… really upset, because I don't like the city

If I were a taste I’d be… Sweet (But, I already am *hehe*)

If I were a scent I’d be… the sent of Ben Gay or muscle cream (goes with the Fibro), but I'd prefer to be the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies ;-)

If I were a word I’d be… Friend

If I were a verb I’d be… Care

If I were an object I’d be… A Collar (Then I'd always be hugging my doggies)

If I were a piece of clothing I’d be… A Bra (That's the closest I'll ever get to having boobs, besides, I'm very supportive ahahahahaha... y'all still reading this?)

If I were a body part I’d be… An Eye (I'm a photographer - I SEE beauty everywhere) or A Left Hand (I'm left handed *grin*)

If I were an facial expression I’d be… A smile (Or, I'd be sticking my tongue out at the webcam)

If I were a cartoon character I’d be… tracking down Wile E. Coyote to break the news that he won't ever catch the Roadrunner

If I were a movie I’d be… "Dreamer" (that movies makes me cry every time, by the way, which refers us back to the "If I were a feeling" question)

If I were a geometrical figure I’d be… A Star (just to be different hehehehehe)

If I were one of the 4 seasons I’d be… Summer (DUH!)

If I were a sentence I’d be… grammatically correct and full of adjectives - OK, a sentence... hmmm... Dogs are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole. (OK, I stole borrowed that - it's a quote by Roger Caras)

If you are bored outta your mind are a glutton for punishment need to waste lots of time would like to do this meme, then be my guest :-)

Ode To My BBFF

(c) Misty DawnS

Yep, I was like a sad puppy dog last night. You see, my BBFF is having serious problems with her computer. No, I'm not just joking around about her 'hard drive' or her 'disk drive'. She is seriously having computer problems, and I'm not liking it at all! Yesterday, she was unable to get online for most of the day, because a very good friend of hers is remotely trying to fix her issues the computer. Heck, I don't even know if she was able to access a dos command line, because for most of the day I was unable to chat with her. So, last night, when she wasn't online, I wrote her a silly poem. After sending her an e-mail of the silly poem, her screen name popped up on my instant messenger. So, I got to talk to her for a while! We're still waiting to see if her computer is completely fixed though. After reading the poem I wrote for her, she kept asking me to post it.

"It's absolutely silly." I replied, "I could write you a much better poem."

"No," she said, "It's funny, and I love it."

I wish an absolutely goofy and silly poem were exactly what is needed to scare her computer into straightening its act up! However, I doubt it. So, I'm just glad it made her smile and laugh.

So, since she's bigger than me and could beat me up to make her happy, I'll post the poem. Please, keep in mind this poem is completely goofy and was just thrown together very late at night in an attempt to make my friend smile.

Ode to my BBFF
Here I sit
Oh so sad
I miss the best BBFF
that I ever had.

We usually talk
for hours on end
and if someone is rude to one
the other is quick to defend.

We're experts on
data, reboot, and a good ol' hard drive clean
And we laugh like a dork and moron
when people don't know what we mean.

My BBFF, well
we thought it was a worm she had
turns out that
it was just her components gone bad.

Maybe it was the fault of her 'girls'
with which she's been blessed
the computer took one look
and it's data became all a mess!

Whatever the cause,
it has got me outta whack
I miss my BBFF
and I want our nightly chat back!

You see this poem
I should really stop
For, I've got so many
blogs I should hop.

But I'm finding
no matter how hard I try
It's just not the same
and I know exactly why.

I don't have that box
at the bottom of my screen that blinks
when she sends me a new message
or tells me to go check out a link.

So here I sit
like a sad bump on a log
without my BBFF to talk with
I don't want to hop blogs

How did I ever do it
before I met her?
I'm sure I did OK,
but how? I'm just not sure.

A lasting effect on me
this friendship has had
Daily, I think of 'moments'
and I start giggling like mad.

She's also been there
when I've needed her most.
We may physically be miles apart
but she always seems close.

But now she's not here
and I miss her so
and it sure makes me realize
I love her more than she'll ever know.

:-) Love, Misty (Dork) Dawn

It Was a WILD Party

Miss Year-old Maggie May has been a big bum today. She keeps mumbling (in doggy-speak) something about too many treats and too much partying.

Last night, after the party was over, I heard this splashing coming from my kitchen. It sounded like we had a kiddie-pool in there or something. I went in the kitchen to discover Maggie standing in the extra-large water dish. She was taking her paws and slapping them down in the water as hard as she could. She was obviously very amused at how she was turning the kitchen into a water park. Of course, Tag and Molly were looking at her like "Dude! Whether it's your birthday or not, you are SO going to get in trouble!"

I'm still working on the birthday-bash recap. I'm having a hard time getting all the stories straight. It seems that somebody spiked the doggy-punch...

And, from what I've been told, there was dancing on the tables and on the furniture. There was even a game of Frisbee going on inside the house! No wonder I found fur all over the place! There was fur and paw prints everywhere from in the bathroom vanities to in front of the computer (apparently, some four-legged guests couldn't ignore their blogging addiction for the duration of the party).

Word has it that Princess and Louie were really tearing it up on the dance floor when "Who Let The Dogs Out" came on the stereo...

Many males were drooling all over themselves while swooning over the beautiful Jersey. What do you expect? I mean, she is The Furry Diva!

Sasha went home with Bert's phone number!

Oh, it was quite the event, I tell ya! I'll get the rest of the stories after Miss Maggie May catches up on her rest. Tag and Molly are more than willing to tell me some of the other things that went on, but they tend to be tattle-tails and try to get the puppy in trouble.

Oh, and wait until you see all the fabulous gifts that Maggie received! I've tried to explain to her that it isn't nice to brag about your gifts, but she insists on posting them all on here for everyone to see.

And don't forget your grab-bags. They're customize for humans, canines, felines, birds, reptiles, rodents... you get the idea

Also, Maggie May would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone who attended her doggy-bloggy-birthday-bash. She is having a howling great time and plans to tell all about it in her recap post tomorrow. She's off to go find something else at the party to chew on, but she wanted to tell all her doggy-bloggy-birthday-bash guests to grab the Unconditional Friendship Award, if you don't already have it :-)

Somebody turn the sound system up, would ya? "Hey Louie - Ya wanna dance? I hear you got the moves!"... "Who Let the Dogs Out?" Wooooof woof woof woof

Message in a Bottle Meme

Sandee from Comedy Plus has tagged me for the Mimi's Message In a Bottle Meme.

Here are the rules:

You are about to send a virtual Message In a Bottle across the Blog Ocean. Leave a message in the sand or on the bottle. Write anything you wish. Be a pirate or a poet. Serious or silly. Anonymous or not. What message would you like to send out to the universe?

Leave it to Mimi to threaten and intimidate us with the dungeon come up with these really fun and awesome memes to do. Gosh, there are so many messages I would like to send... so many relevant things. For example - "Everyone is beautiful" - That's true, you know. Society has us thinking we need to be taking diet pills and altering ourselves physically, when, truth is, each one of us is already unique and beautiful.

Then, there's my favorite quote from a movie (Shawshank Redemption) - "You've either got to get busy livin' or get busy dyin'." I love that quote, and I don't think I've been taking that advice lately.

There's also my own motto - "You have to choose to either become it or overcome it."

However, when I woke up this morning, grabbed a cup of coffee, took disgusted note that the temperature is -3, and sat down to do this meme, a beautiful black and white, furry face looked up at me and decided to tell me good morning. As I listened to the "Arrrooooo Yawwwww Rooooo" (that translates to "Good morning, Mommy. I love you."), I realized that my message in the bottle could only say one thing...
I am tagging everyone on my blogroll. Heck, I'm tagging everyone who reads this post...
Send your message in a bottle :-)

That'll Cover It

I saw this over at Rachel's and thought I'd try it. Let me tell you - This was WAY too much fun!!! Like I needed something else to get addicted too (hehe).

But, honestly though... you'd buy this magazine right? You'd be strolling through the rows of magazines and see this cute cover and wouldn't be able to resist making the purchase and taking this magazine home with you... right? And, well, it should be a real magazine cover, because not only is it totally cute, but just look at the top headline - it reads "Top 10 Most Popular Pets"... Well, duh! What's more popular than a puppy who is the star attraction in the header of a blog in the gigantic blogosphere?!?!

What about this awesome wolf in the woods? Would you be able to resist purchasing this magazine to learn all about how this huge lovable lug wild wolf prefers his meat cooked and covets stuffed animals survives with only a king sized bed to sleep in in day-to-day life?

Seriously - the magazine publishers don't know what they are missing!

Flim Writer? I Wouldn't Know Where To Start

You Should Be a Film Writer

You don't just create compelling stories, you see them as clearly as a movie in your mind.
You have a knack for details and dialogue. You can really make a character come to life.
Chances are, you enjoy creating all types of stories. The joy is in the storytelling.
And nothing would please you more than millions of people seeing your story on the big screen!
What Type of Writer Should You Be?

This is interesting... but gosh, I know nothing about writing for film. I just write to write. I do love to tell stories though, that's for sure.
