I'm writing to u about my Mommy. She's been a very good Mommy ALL year. She plays with us and gives us food and treats and lots of hugs and scratches and kisses. My Mommy wants a laptop, Santy. She's been sad becuz her other laptop gets reel hot and turns itself off. I just don't think it's fare of that thing to be so nasty to my Mommy! So, Santy, could u pleaz bring my Mommy a laptop for Christmus? Cuz, when Mommy is sad... we're all sad...

My Mommy uses the money she makes with her laptop to buy us food and treats and balls to play with. I tried to earn money for Mommy's laptop by doing some modeling, but I never got paid for it!

They said the check was lost in the mail, but I don't believe them, cuz me and Tag and Maggie looked everywhere for that check...

So, Santy, we'd really appreeshiate it if u could bring our Mommy a laptop so she will be happy again and can keep on bloggin'!
Love,
Mommy's Favorite Lap'Pups'
P.S. Tag says he's is very sorry for scaring all those hoomans who come to our house. He just can't help hisself. Maggie blames all of her rottenness on being a puppy. I, Molly (the pretty one in the above photo), well, I've been good all year. So, if you want to put a ball next to Mommy's laptop under the tree, we'll know who it's for... just sayin'.

Dear Santy...
http://www.mistysmusings.com/2007/12/dear-santy.html
Just wanted to drop in for a quick post. I'm posting as I fill in at the insurance agency. Last night, my laptop shut itself down and wouldn't reboot :-( (So, Tammy, if you were looking for me, that's why I wasn't online). Now, it will boot up for about 1/2 hour or so, until it gets hot and then it shuts itself off. So, I have booted it up long enough to make sure I have everything backed up. Other than that, I'm pouting... seriously pouting (last night, I was in tears).
I may not make it home this evening. We've had a bad snowstorm this afternoon, and everyone is saying that the roads are absolutely horrible. So, if they are too bad to drive on, my brother-in-law who lives here in this town will come and get me, and I will stay with them tonight. I REALLY don't want to do that, because I just want to be at home, but it's better to be safe than sorry, I guess.
Forgive me for not visiting your blogs - I will visit as soon as I get a chance and am able to be at a computer that won't shut down on me. I miss you guys - don't forget about me ;-)

Laptop and Weather Update
http://www.mistysmusings.com/2007/12/laptop-and-weather-update.html
My laptop - it's dying - slowly, but surely - it's dying. I purchased it used so it was inexpensive enough to justify the purchase to take it back and forth to work with me every day to complete school work - I could not have made it this far into my degree without this laptop - seriously... anyway...
You have already read my whining confessions that I now have permanent burns on my legs from this laptop. This is because whoever designed this laptop had drank a few too many or something. The fan to receive and circulate air is on the bottom of the laptop. Therefore, if you use it as a LAPtop, the computer receives no air and, as a result, heats up to temperatures hot enough to... well... leave permanent burns on the user's thighs. So, I now prop it up so the fan can receive air. However, the battery still heats up to high temperatures and... you guessed it... the battery is right next to the hard drive... what would that result in? A melted hard drive, of course!
Now, I will be sitting here reading blogs working diligently on a project, and, all of a sudden, the laptop just shuts down. That's.It. No warning - no error - no little guy popping up on my screen and telling me "We're sorry, but you are now going to lose everything you just worked so hard on - sucks to be you." Nothing - it Just.Shuts.Down. UGH! Can you hear my frustrations???
My husband's reply is that I do not need a new laptop, because if I got a new laptop, then I would basically be working for free for awhile until the laptop was paid for... whereas, right now, this crappy piece of junk laptop is already paid for, so whatever I earn while using it is money in the bank. That brings me to this question... how can I make any of that 'money in the bank' if this da*m, ignorant, devil-spawn laptop continues to quit working??? UGH! Can you hear my frustrations???
I am a creature of habit... a serious creature of habit and routine (yes, I'm calling myself a creature). I wake in the morning and follow the same steps to complete the same routine... it has to be done the same, or else, I'm out-of-whack for the whole day. Therefore, I have daily routines which revolve around my having a laptop to work on... if I no longer have a laptop to work on... well, then... I'll totally be out-of-whack!!! And, no one wants that!!!
My most prized material possessions are my camera and my laptop. I treasure them... I talk lovingly to them... I pamper them and tell them of all the joy they bring me... I whisper sweet words to them... OK - you get the idea! You could take away my TV... take away my furniture... take away my food... just don't take my camera or laptop away from me!!!
I've even come up with every way I can think of to keep the price of a new laptop as low as I can. I don't need any fancy software... I don't need many bells and whistles... I just need a laptop which will allow me to complete my Virtual Assistance work, blogging, and writing. Am I being selfish and greedy? Oh yes, now you see why I never purchase anything for myself... I put myself on the biggest guilt trip you could possibly imagine... I end up making myself feel completely selfish, greedy, and irresponsible, and therefore, the purchase is not made. (Kind of like I am doing to myself right now... a laptop is a material possession - an expensive material possession... I should quit my whining and be thankful for what I have... etc, etc.... Don't mind me, I'm busy putting myself on a guilt trip ;-)

I'll Be In Mourning
http://www.mistysmusings.com/2007/12/ill-be-in-mourning.html

When you start talking about deals in technology, you definitely have my attention and are talking my language! Whenever a new tech item is introduced, my husband will just shake his head and ask me how soon I will start saying I need that. I seriously can't help myself. I love electronics and technology. Besides that love, these items are directly responsible for my income. If my computer or fax machine goes down, then I'm in a world of hurt.
Can you see where I'm going with this? I'm trying to convince my husband I should get a new laptop, because this one is going to eventually fry its own hard drive. I'm not kidding when I have told you I have burns on my legs. That wasn't a joke. I literally have nasty ugly burns, which I think are going to be permanent, on my thighs from my current laptop. Anyway, I keep looking at purchasing a new computer, but I haven't convinced the other half of this relationship yet. I've found TechBargains.com. They offer discount computers and send newsletters to your e-mail address so you can review all the deals. I also like their deal alerts which are customized to the products you are interested in.
Since I can get coupons and rebates to save money on all kinds of gadgets, we don't really need to tell my husband about that $5 a week I secretly sneak into the digital camera fund on my sidebar. It will be our little secret. No telling!
