Heads or Tails *Line*

Heads or Tails has its very own home now! If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome new HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is "Line".

Some of you may know this, but some of you may not (hehe). The hostess of Heads or Tails, Barb aka Skittles, is one of my closest friends. We were friends before she started HoT, so I was there to watch, admire, appreciate, and respect all the hard work and effort she put into this meme to make it such a success. She inspired me to come up with Camera-Critters - the weekend meme I host. When I told her my idea, she did nothing but encourage me and offer any help or advice she had to offer.

So... to get to the point of this whole post (hehe - I tend to ramble, don't I?!?!)...
This week was #11 for Camera-Critters, and we had 95 (YES that is NINETY-FIVE) Camera-Critters participants! (I'm still working on visiting everyone's posts - please be patient with me) I am honored and touched beyond words. Yes, y'all have made me speechless, which is quite an accomplishment ;-)

So... (Oh yeah, what way my point again??? Oh yeah - Line... line). The whole point of this post (hey, there's a point at the end of a line right? Isn't there? OK nevermind)... What I wanted to do with this post was ____________________ (see that line? hehe)

I wanted to drop a few LINES to ALL of the Camera-Critters participants, Barb - my special friend who encouraged me and inspired me, Tammy and Sanni - who both also encouraged me and provided much appreciated assistance, to say "Thank You!" Y'all have really made CC special, and I am grateful beyond words.

Blogoversary

One year ago today, in an attempt to make one of my very best friends stop nagging happy, I picked up my laptop, did a search for a thing called Blogger, and step-by-step started something called a blog. I had no idea what I would do with it, but this friend insisted it would become an outlet and a passion for me. Since she had never steered me wrong before, I gave it a shot. As always, she was right, and I quickly became a BA (Blogging Addict).
(c) Misty DawnS

One year ago today, I began throwing my emotions, thoughts, ideas, and creative creations out into this thing called "The Blogosphere". What in the heck was I thinking? I was certainly setting myself up for rejection. These people, all around the world, would certainly laugh at me and wonder exactly why I thought they would care to read my words, see my photos, or share in my life.
(c) Misty DawnS

It wasn't long before I started developing friendships. These friendships were with people whom I had never seen in person or even heard the sound of their voice, but people who reached out and touched my heart just as strong as any relationship I had ever encountered. The power of these friendships inspired me and would evoke such emotion that I would be overwhelmed by how much these people had come to mean to me in such a short period of time.
(c) Misty DawnS

I found myself thinking, "I can't wait to get home and tell them about this." Or, eagerly booting up my computer to post a new photo or a new story. I found myself adding a long list of friends to my daily prayers. I found myself crying for my friends' losses, cheering for their accomplishments, and giving thanks for their blessings. I would anxiously wait for news from a doctor, eagerly anticipate the birth of a baby, and laugh at the antics of stubborn pets. I found my desire to share in my friends' lives was just as strong as my desire to have them want to share in mine.
(c) Misty DawnS

Now, I find myself at an overwhelming and hectic part of life, which has actually caused me to consider leaving The Blogosphere. This is not because I do not love it here, but because I have an overwhelming sense of guilt for not managing to find the time to regularly 'visit' these friends and let them know what they mean to me. However, for as many times as I have considered giving it up, I have found twice as many reasons of why I couldn't possibly completely step away. It has become too much a part of me. All of you have become too much of a part of me.

One year ago today, I thought I would develop a blog...
Instead, I found myself developing some of the greatest friendships
with which I have ever been blessed.

Birthday Bear!

Today is one of my very dearest friend's birthday!
Bear is a friend who has accepted my pleadings to share his photography knowledge with me.
He has put up with my countless nagging questions over and over again.
He has supported and encouraged me,
He has given up sleep to stay up talking to me when I was worried about a sick husband, a missing wolf, or any of my other excessive worries.
And, he has simply been there to be a friend for me.
Our friendship has become so much more than a 'friendship' -
It truly is a blessing.

So, Bear, lemme tell you what I would do for your birthday,
if the options were unlimited.

After your big surprise party (did everyone get their party invitations?)

I would make your birthday dinner, which would definitely include...

Meatloaf, deviled eggs, and extra sharp cheddar cheese cubes.

After dinner, I would have you open your gift...

Do you like it?

Then, we'd spend the entire next few days 'shooting' (armed with more cheddar cheese cubes and sandwiches-layered with Miracle Whip on both sides-for lunch)

Wouldn't that be the life (Wouldn't that be major bool, Bear?) ?

I may not be able to make that come true,
but I certainly hope your birthday
is as great as you are!

Thoughts, Prayers, Wishes... Please

Yesterday was my best-friend-since-4th-grade's birthday. Yes, she was born on tax day. So, I told her that she wouldn't be receiving a birthday gift from me, because all my money went to the government ;-)

Anyway, we got to talking about the 'things-happening-in-threes' theory that she and I always believed in and watched out for while we were growing up. Last week, she had three horrible things happen to people she knew, and she commented that she certainly hoped the rule of three-things was true, because that would mean the bad things were done. I hope so too, because the stories she told me were horrible and heartbreaking.

Now, I've got my own incident of threes here, and, of course, I am coming to my friends in the blogosphere for your help. I'm asking for your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, healing wishes, chants... whatever it is you do to hope and ask for someone to recover. I know you all will want to do this for me, because some of these people are fellow bloggers and loved dearly within the blogosphere.

Sanni - One of my most favorite people - I love this girlie so much! Sanni and little Hamster 2.0 have been ordered to hang out in bed and take is very easy. Seems that Hamster is a little too anxious to check out her brand new furniture in her room and all those adorable outfits waiting for her. She decided to start giving her mommy some pains, which caused concern and landed both of them in bed, which is causing Sanni to have cabin fever, as you can imagine. So, please keep Sanni and Hamster in you thoughts for health, strength, and calmness (so Hamster doesn't get any ideas about hurrying to get out and see her pretties again).

Barb/Skittles - Y'all know by now that Barb has become one of my dearest and best friends. Well, she has had A LOT on her plate lately. It isn't my place to go into detail, but she has been dealing with a lot, and I'm very proud of how strong she has been through it all, because I most certainly would not be able to be as strong as she has been. Well, now to top it all off - she is physically ill. While trying to sort things through and remain strong, she needed some time away from blogging. So, I assumed that was why she wasn't online yesterday. I was wrong. She is very sick, and, again, it isn't my place to tell her story... she will inform you when she gets back to blogging. However, it may not be my place to give you details, but it most certainly is my place as a friend to ask for thoughts, prayers, healing wishes, etc. You can never have too much of that, and it can never start too soon. So, I hope she doesn't get upset with me for putting this on here, and I hope she understands why I did it.

My Hubs (this is why I have not been blog hopping as much as normal) - Remember back in February when he had what we thought was pneumonia? Well, he's sick again. He has been very sick for over a week. He has the symptoms he had then, but, also has more symptoms. And, the symptoms are more disturbing and changing each day! At first, when we figured it was just the flu, I was not worried, and was just taking care of him and trying to help him get well. However, he's still not well, and I'm beginning to think we are dealing with something other than the flu here. I would think that, if it were the flu, I would have certainly contracted it by now. I mean, I'm just in too close of contact here in this tiny box house to have not got the germs. Besides, some of the symptoms are not normal flu symptoms, and, if you knew my husband, you would know that he never gets 'normal' illnesses. (Right LMQ & LMK?) Hubs tells me not to worry. He has told people that the reason Misty hasn't caught what he has is because "Misty is too mean to get sick." Ya know, you'd think someone who is being waited on hand and foot by you and being taken care of by you would be a little more appreciative! hehehe. However, I've discovered that Hubs is a little more concerned about his symptoms than he has let on, and that makes his worry-obsessed wife even more worried.

I'm going to blow the rule of threes and add another person to this list...

Colin from Life - I do not know Colin very well, but he is a very special friend to one of my very best friends, Tammy. Colin has been MIA for over a week now. He has not blogged, is not answering e-mails, and as far as we can tell, has not been online at all. Considering that Colin has a chronic condition, Tammy is very worried about her friend. Since she and I are both obsessive worriers, I can certainly understand what she is going through worrying about someone she cares about, and not being able to find anything out at all. So, please add Colin to your thoughts, and also add Tammy to your thoughts to give her peace of mind. If anyone out there happens to have personal contact with Colin and knows what is going on - PLEASE contact Tammy and let her know.

I truly believe in the power of positive energy, good thoughts, prayers, and love. So, please, keep these people in your thoughts. I'd really appreciate it.

Pawsing to Say Thank You

See that little kitty? It is thanking all of you for sharing your photos and making the premier of the Camera-Critters Meme a HUGE success! I am overwhelmed with appreciation to all of you for taking the time to participate.
We were blessed with photos of a variety of critters. We saw a critter as small as an ant (OK, it WAS an ant) to huge elephants! We saw dogs, cats, a lizard, and a guinea pig. While we didn't see someone dressed in equestrian clothing, while riding a horse, we did see a pony! Oh yes, it was an awesome critter weekend! The photos were absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait to see what critters everyone shares next weekend.

So, my friends, I just had to take the opportunity to tell all of you...
Bloggers are the best!

Worldwide Group Hug

Wow! Twice this week, I have typed out a post and then sat there staring at the "Publish Post" button, because I wasn't sure if I should actually post it. I wasn't sure how the posts would be viewed or accepted, since they were coming from me, a.k.a. Miss Happy-and-Silly-and-Innocent (ok, maybe not so innocent, but only a select few of you know that *grin*).

Twice this week, I closed my eyes and just clicked the mouse, as I thought to my self, "People may wonder what the heck you are doing, and you may lose some regular visitors."

Twice this week, I was absolutely surprised at the reaction I received from my friends here and at Misty's Words. Both times, you made me feel like maybe I can still write a decent piece; sometimes it's good to share the things you feel strongly about, even if it isn't a 'happy-topic'; you really don't just use me to get a chance to see my adorable dogs (OK, maybe you do, but that's alright - I don't blame ya); but, most of all, you proved to me, once again how non-judgmental, caring, understanding, intelligent, and unconditional these blogging friendships are. Thanks for that. (Could y'all scoot a little closer together for the group hug?)

Now I'm off to enjoy my blog-hoppin' Thursday. I'd love to tell you that after blog hopping, I'm going to go sit on my teak outdoor furniture and enjoy another nice day. Unfortunately though, it's dreary, cloudy, and looks like it might rain. Oh well, they can't all be sunny days (darnit).

Heads or Tails *Who You Want to Meet*

One of my favorite bloggers, Skittles has started a Tuesday meme. It is LOTS of fun-so you'll wanna join us right away! If you click on the Heads or Tails logo - it will take you to the post to tell you more about the meme.

This week's topic is Tails - Who would you like to meet and why.

Well, you all know that I desperately want to meet (face-to-face) my BBFF Tammy. Why? Because she's fabulous - that's why! Because she makes me laugh out loud when I've spent the rest of my day in tears. Because we have some much in common and learn about more things we have in common every time we talk, which happens to be everyday. And, because we are going to laugh our booties off when we out-fish our husbands!

So, yes, I want to meet and hang out with this hot mama (she's on the right - doesn't she have beautiful eyes???) -
I would also love to meet and hang out with Stacey, Jen/Gi, Cat, D, and Bubba's Sis. And Barb. And Autumn. And... oh my, there are so many of my online blogging friends I would love to meet!

Oh, and I certainly would love to meet my very special friends from the forum where we talk about the Sara Donati/Rosina Lippi books and our lives in general. Robyn, Michelle, Soup, Judy, Kathy, Marg, Sally, Kenzie... Oh yeah - we'd have a blast, that's for sure! Heck, we'll have Rosina join us when we meet up - how cool would that be ?!?!

As far as celebrities - Oh just a few, such as Martina McBride, the entire crew of Bon Jovi, Jennifer Nettles, the entire Little Big Town band, Sheryl Crow, Tom Hanks, Robyn Williams, Julia Roberts, Hugh Laurie... yeah, just a few ;-)

And, someday, maybe I will meet up with my half-sister. I can explain to her why I never... why I couldn't, be there to meet her. Possibly, she already knows, but I hope that isn't the case, because that would mean she has felt and endured the same things I did. I sincerely hope it is different for her. Maybe it sounds completely illogical, but I hope that she has no idea why I have never been around, because if she does know and understand, then it means she has been through it too.

She's Fabulous

See that totally Hawwwwwt and wonderful mommy helping her most adorable son blow out his birthday candles? Well, I'm here to tell you that hot, wonderful, considerate, caring mommy has been nominated for some Bloggers Choice awards! Not surprising is it?

Let me tell you about the most recent week in her life... she had a migraine which left her unable to function one evening/night... to be followed up with a visit from some family during which her great-niece accidentally tipped a very large aquarium and flooded the entire living room - said living room carpet will eventually need to be replaced... her pre-teen daughter and friends messed up the computer and left her unable to focus on her income or anything else other than getting the computer working again... she thought she had (and was looking forward to) a day without children (she does daycare in her home), until a family member showed up with three kids for her to take care of until late that night...

That's just a week people - AND

through all of that going on in her own life - her own things to deal with... she still found out that her friend was fighting a depression and felt hopeless over it... she took the time to get in touch, be the considerate, goofy, fun, and silly friend she is... she made that friend laugh - she made that friend think about fun, silly, and outright ridiculous things - she made that friend feel loved... she...

she helped that friend see a light and feel some strength against a dark cloud which that friend hadn't been able to find before.

In my opinion - someone as special as that deserves our votes - in my opinion - it is MY mission to tell you how wonderful she is - my mission to tell you that she is up for these awards - my mission to ask you to please click HERE and then click on her sidebar and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE vote for her - she deserves it - she's fabulous!

Attention Blogging Buddies

In 2007, I was introduced to blogging. With that introduction, I was blessed with the discovery of so many indescribably special friendships. These friendships know no boundaries or restrictions due to distance. These friends got to know 'me', the true me, without the distractions of physical issues which sometimes prevent someone from taking the time to get to know the real person.
In six short months, these friends have stood by me when I was sad, scared, confused, lost, worried, nervous, angry, and depressed. These same friends have celebrated with me, cheered me on, laughed with me, and joined in with me when I was in a silly mood.
When we first arrived for our holiday visit, I immediately raced to the nearest computer. My BBFF (Tammy) had received results of a biopsy, and I had been traveling and unable to be there with her and find out the news. I knew it would be good news through, because I had prayed so much that God was going to make it OK just so He could get me to shut up ;-) As I anxiously checked my e-mail, I was asked "Is this 'one of those online friends'?" "Well, I met her online. Does that answer your question?"
Then I heard it... I knew is was coming, and I have become more and more intolerable of this comment or way of thinking... "So, she's not a REAL friend then?"
I just smiled and calmly replied, "Oh yes, she's a real friend. I have many wonderful 'real' friends whom I've never met face-t0-face, yet I say prayers for them every night. They have real families and real lives. They have real feelings and emotions, real worries, real dreams, real ideas, and real talents. These friendships are REAL blessings, which I wouldn't trade for anything. And, honestly, sometimes I think these friendships are more 'real' than others, because with these friendships, you get to know the 'real' person and that is what the friendship is based upon. Am I real? You don't doubt that I'm real; just like Tammy's son, daughter, and husband certainly have no doubts that Tammy is real. And, I have no doubt that these friendships are real!"

That was the first night I arrived, and, after that, my online friendships were not questioned again.

These friends I keep referring to, of course, are all of you! I am thankful for the opportunity to meet all of you. I am thankful for everything you have done for me. I am thankful for the friendships you have given me. I am looking forward to being friends through this next year. I am thankful that you are REAL.

I'm Thankful For You...and You... and You

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to post two special awards that I have received. For, I want to pass them on to my very special blogging friends, who are at the top of my list of things I am thankful for! I'm sure y'all won't be surprised that the beautiful award at the top just has me eager as heck to put it on my blog. It's doggies! I love me some doggies... any kind... any shape... any size... love em... just love em! But, you already knew that, didn't you? That's probably why I received this award twice - both from Tammy at Mom Knows Everything (who has given me a couple more awards recently, which I will post soon) and Sandee at Comedy Plus. They are just going to look absolutely adorable on my blog!

Sandee also gave me this adorable award. I don't think anyone can ever have too many adorable animals decorating their blog. It was kind of funny, because I saw this award at another blog and thought how cute it was (and secretly wished that I would receive it to put on my blog)... and then... Ms Sandee comes through and blesses me with this award.
Click "Read More" for a gift from me to you and the list of who receives these awards.

I posted this poem over at Misty's Words, but that blog doesn't have many readers, so I'm going to post it here to all my friends. Please know how very special you are to me and how thankful I am for this opportunity to discover all of these wonderful friendships.

To My Friends
Whenever you need to be held,
I will hold you.

Whenever you need to believe,
my words to you are always true.

Whenever you need a shoulder
upon to lean your head and cry

Whenever you need to talk
even if you don't understand why

Whenever you are lonely
or feeling very sad

Whenever you need to vent
because you are so mad

When you have a secret
which you need to share

Or when you simply need someone
to show you that she cares

Today, tomorrow, or anytime
you can count on me

No matter how you are feeling
you friend I will always be.
(c) Misty Dawn

Believe it or not, all of the above things can be performed virtually... across the cyber-blogosphere wires. I know, because you have all done these things for me.
Thank you.

Neglectful Winner's AWARDS Ceremony

Yep, that's me, I'm a neglectful winner. Some of my absolutely fabulous friends have honored me with some great awards and tagged me with memes they thought I would enjoy. What have I done to show my appreciation? I've been too caught up in arguing with college advisors, crying over that ignorant rank, and trying to get away from the constant banging, hammering, yellings of "watch out!", and worrying that my husband is going to fall off a roof. I'm such a horrible friend :-( I honestly do love my awards and memes, and I thank you for thinking of me! Just WAIT until you see this ceremony that I've been working on though. I promise you it's quite impressive... (Click "Read more" Click it! Click it!!!)

I received TWO (yep, that's more than one!) awesome awards from one of my new favorite people Ann at A Nice Place In The Sun. Ann is a writer, and I find her blog fun, inspiring, and thought provoking all at the same time! You'll be thanking me for sending you to her blog! She gave me:
This award is Mel at Monday Morning Powers new feel good award for the blogs who display winning attitudes on their blogs! Here are Mels reasons for passing out this award:

" This award seems like a natural given what my site is all about. This award is based on positive thinking and is meant for those blogs who base their existence, in part or in whole, on Positive Winning Attitudes."

I pass this award on to:
Stacey at JameeForever
Linda at Are We There Yet
Tammy at Mom Knows Everything
GiGi at Girl Gone Wild (Bible Style)
Rachel at Soulful Thoughts of Rachel
Holly at Mama Pajama
Carrie at Rantings of a Woman

Ann also gave me this cool award:
This award was created by Mark of MeAndMyDrum, who said that the BeTheBlog phrase stuck in his head from a meme Tish from TheKatHouse sent him about what it means to be a successful blogger.

To quote his words to BeTheBlog, "really sums up what a successful blogger does. And what I mean by successful is that they make it their own, stay with it, are interactive with their readers, and just plain have fun."

I want to pass this on to all of my blogging friends, because all of you work at your blog to make it what it is. Each blog is unique, and you all inspire me. However, I may get in trouble for passing this award on to everyone I know ;-) So, I'll select just a few (although I hate having to do that!)
Bradley at The Egel Nest
David at authorblog
Vic at Cariboo Ponderer
The Gal Herself at One Gal's Musings
Bridget at And Miles To Go Before We Sleep
Tammy at Mom Knows Everything

This post isn't over yet! This is an extra long award ceremony, because...well, I've been neglectful. Carrie at Rantings of a Woman also blessed me with a very beautiful award.
This one is really tough for me to choose who to pass it along to. Do you realize how many fabulous friends I have met through blogging??? I mean seriously! How can I choose?
Early on in blogging, I met and discovered great friendships with:
The Lawn Mower Queen (She's my BF who convinced me to start blogging to begin with!)
Stacey
GiGi
Jessie
Skittles
Autumn
Kara
Tammy
D
Bubba's Sis
Jolene
Bridget
and
Janice
But, it doesn't stop there! As I continued blogging, I developed so many more beautiful friendships. Like those with:
Bradley
Sanni
David
Linda
Rachel
Holly
Ann
Sandee
Christy
Claire
Smalltown RN
BeccA
Anna
Vic
Cat
Carrie
Pepper
Marcus
Stine
Terri
Bee
The Gal Herself
Maggie
JD
Travis
Katherine
Skeet
and
Mimi
(I'm sure there are many more, and I apologize if I have missed you!!! I'll be pretty gosh darn impressed with myself if I get all these links done and correct before bedtime!) There! I shouldn't get in trouble now, because I was very choosy when passing this award on ;-)

Last, but definitely NOT least (cuz she's my BBFF), Tammy at Mom Knows Everything passed this award on to me:
I'd like to pass this award on to some of the blogs that particularly inspire me or continue to evoke emotion or thought for me.
Bradley at The Egel Nest
David at authorblog
Ann at A Nice Place In The Sun
Sandee at Comedy Plus
JD at The Uneasy Supplicant
Bridget at And Miles To Go Before We Sleep
Janice at Twist & Skewer

Whew!!! How's that for an awards ceremony??? (and a little linky love too hehehe) Going to go hide now, so the award police can't find me.

Thanks to Wonderful Friends!

I wanted to say thank you to those of you who took the time to go over and visit Tammy at Mom Knows Everything and leave her a few words of encouragement. It really means a lot to me that you did that, and I know it means the absolute world to her. My request isn't over yet though (I know, I'm a demanding little thing!). Tammy's surgery is over (she says it was horrible - I wish I could have been there to support her), but she is now waiting
