Sky Watch Friday

Hello my dear Sky Watch Friday friends! Due to my busy and overwhelming life lately, it has been quite awhile since I remembered to post my Sky Watch photo. Oh yes, I, of course, have still been taking photos of the sky, I just forget to post them for Sky Watch. I will be at work on Friday and think, "Oh Dummy! You forgot again!" Well, this Friday, I am not forgetting.

It took me a while of zig-zagging up and down the road and back and forth across the road; Then, standing on tiptoes, I finally had the moon right where I wanted it in reference to the grain bins and the corn field in the foreground. I realize that if your monitor is set differently than mine, you may not see the grain bins (one of my best friends didn't even know they were there) or corn. So, don't worry if you can't.

Sky Watch Friday *Pink & Blue*

(c) Misty DawnS

Forgive me for posting so early, but I am exhausted and getting ready to attempt to go to sleep. I'd like to apologize for not visiting blogs like I used to, but it seems that all I've been doing lately in my posts is apologizing. My work load is not going to change, so I am just going to have to accept the fact that I am not going to be able to visit blogs as much as I used to. I will probably have to set certain days to visit. I'm still trying to figure out what will work out best and what I can handle.

Stormy Sky Watch

So, what does Misty do when there are tornado watches and warnings being issued in and all around her area? Grab the camera and run outside, of course!

See, it doesn't look that bad... look at that pretty blue sky.
(c) Misty DawnS

Nah, it's not bad... you can even see the sun up there!
(c) Misty DawnS

Ummm, it's beginning to get a little dark and windy.(c) Misty DawnS

Yep, definitely getting kind of windy.
(c) Misty DawnS

Thinking maybe I should go inside now, but this is SO cool!
(c) Misty DawnS

Yeah, OK, I'm going inside.
(c) Misty DawnS

Once I returned inside and told two of my best buddies, Tammy and Barb, about the photos I had just taken, I received a couple of lectures. In fact, Tammy told me that I should be wearing some religious jewelry, because I could pray to it as the tornado took me away to the land of Oz. Hmmm, do you catch a hint of sarcasm there?

By the way, everyone. The new Sunday meme, Camera Critters, will be ready this week! I will open the Mr. Linky sign in at http://camera-critters.blogspot.com sometime Saturday evening. In the meantime, hop on over there and grab yourself a badge and a post header, and leave me a comment if you would like to be put on the blog roll.

Sky Watch Friday

(c) Misty DawnS

This photo was taken on Easter. I thought the clouds over the sun created a very mystical feeling. I don't know - maybe you just had to be there to understand what I'm saying. I always try to capture the beauty so you can feel like you were there. Yet, sometimes, there is a 'feeling', and it just doesn't seem possible to capture that in a photograph. Do any of the rest of the 'nature addicts' out there feel or know what I'm talking about? Or, am I not making any sense since I've had everything on my mind today from owing on our taxes and not getting the professional camera to drug rehabilitation to adoption to wondering when my vehicle will be repaired... and so much more. It has been a busy day mentally, so maybe I'm just not doing a good job at expressing myself.

Sky Watch Friday

(c) Misty DawnS

I realize this Sky Watch photo is different than what you are used to from me. Yes, I did get some beautiful and amazing sunset shots this week, but I feel like being different (hehe that's not very difficult for me). Evening before last, I walked out of my door to head on my evening sunset walk like I do each evening. Also, like always, I admired my beautiful barn as I walked down the porch steps. That's when I noticed that it looked like this lightning rod was pointing at the moon, as if to say "It's right here. Let me show you the moon." I thought it was neat, so I took a picture :-) (I know, you're probably wondering why I didn't post one of the pretty sunsets rather than this.)

I'm off to work for half a day. I'll visit everything this afternoon and evening.

Wordless Wednesday (with words)

I realize my Wordless Wednesdays are hardly ever wordless anyway (It's my blog, so it's OK), but I have to talk about this photo. I realized something about myself with this photo... I realized that I am absolutely dog-crazy, and I think about or incorporate dogs into everything. Why did I come to this realization, besides the fact that it's so obvious already? Well, you know you are dog-crazy when you take a photo of a sunset, and you immediately see a puppy's face in the clouds. Yep, you are probably going to think I'm crazy, but right there, to the top right of the trees, I see a puppy's face looking at me head on... white nose and white blaze, little tan eyebrow above the left eye (on our right looking at the face). Seriously! You can see it even more if you look at the photo full size. Maybe the Heaven is telling me to go get another puppy to help me feel better about the camera deal... OR, maybe it is telling me to get a new puppy AND the camera and take photos of the puppy! Yeah, I think that's it! (Please don't call the people with the straight jackets to take me away because I'm seeing puppies in the sky.)(c) MistyDawnS

Sky Watch Friday #12

(c) Misty DawnS

I'm assuming we are a 'hang-out' stop along a migration path for Snow Geese. If that isn't what is going on, then I think I better pack up my stuff and run, because these birds mean business! Honestly, this was one of the most amazing spectacles in nature I have ever seen. I was speechless and in absolute awe. I am so grateful that I was given an opportunity to witness this. That same day/night, was the most amazing sunset. I just can't resist replaying this day and night over and over again in my head! Therefore, I can't resist posting (yet, another) photo of the sunset.

Sky Watch Friday #9

(c) Misty DawnS

I really am not wanting to post so soon after the birthday post for my grandfather. I always fear that if I post too soon, people won't read the previous post, and that bothers me when it is a post which is important to me like the previous post is. So, I'll make this short and sweet and hope that this Sky Watch photo will cause people to want to explore my blog a little more :-)

Sky Watch Friday #8

I truly love participating in Sky Watch Friday every week. I look forward to it, and I love seeing everyone's sky photos! You can click on the Sky Watch image at the top of this post to learn more about it and join in on the fun!

I seem to be a creature of habit. I have my routine and particular way of doing things. I guess this is true with my photography too, because I have numerous photos with this tree as the subject in front of the sky. I also have many photos of the bird feeders (in my Sky Watch on the other blog) silhouetted against the sunset.

On another note - In between my absolutely crazy, hectic, and frustrating events today, I went out to get the mail. We got the January/February edition of a local magazine that is sent out for free if you are a member of a certain group. Right on the front cover was a photo of a barbed wire fence with ice hanging on it from the ice storm, which I'm sure you all got very tired of hearing about and seeing the photos. I came in the house, dropped the magazine in front of my ill husband and said "I could have done that!" as I pointed to the photo on the cover. Hubs looked at it for a minute and then replied "You DID do that. And, you did it BETTER!" So, with that confidence booster, I went and e-mailed the publishers and asked if they accept photography submissions from residents of the state (especially since I am an employee of their 'group' fulfilling a different purpose). Hey, it doesn't hurt to ask, I guess. As you've probably guessed, I haven't heard back from them. LOL

Sky Watch Friday #5

(c) Misty DawnS
This photo was taken last Sunday.
I was in the house, and when I walked by the window, I exclaimed "Oh MY! " and went running for the camera.
Hubs was asking, "What? What?"
I simply replied, "I've gotta go! I'll be back in a few minutes!"
When Hubs saw the pictures, he then completely understood why his wife had gone running out the door in the middle of winter with shoes on bare feet and no coat.
