Heads or Tails *Line*

Heads or Tails has its very own home now! If you click on the graphic above, it will take you to the awesome new HoT blog where you can sign up and start participating in this fun and popular meme!

This week's theme is "Line".

Some of you may know this, but some of you may not (hehe). The hostess of Heads or Tails, Barb aka Skittles, is one of my closest friends. We were friends before she started HoT, so I was there to watch, admire, appreciate, and respect all the hard work and effort she put into this meme to make it such a success. She inspired me to come up with Camera-Critters - the weekend meme I host. When I told her my idea, she did nothing but encourage me and offer any help or advice she had to offer.

So... to get to the point of this whole post (hehe - I tend to ramble, don't I?!?!)...
This week was #11 for Camera-Critters, and we had 95 (YES that is NINETY-FIVE) Camera-Critters participants! (I'm still working on visiting everyone's posts - please be patient with me) I am honored and touched beyond words. Yes, y'all have made me speechless, which is quite an accomplishment ;-)

So... (Oh yeah, what way my point again??? Oh yeah - Line... line). The whole point of this post (hey, there's a point at the end of a line right? Isn't there? OK nevermind)... What I wanted to do with this post was ____________________ (see that line? hehe)

I wanted to drop a few LINES to ALL of the Camera-Critters participants, Barb - my special friend who encouraged me and inspired me, Tammy and Sanni - who both also encouraged me and provided much appreciated assistance, to say "Thank You!" Y'all have really made CC special, and I am grateful beyond words.

Pawsing to Say Thank You

See that little kitty? It is thanking all of you for sharing your photos and making the premier of the Camera-Critters Meme a HUGE success! I am overwhelmed with appreciation to all of you for taking the time to participate.
We were blessed with photos of a variety of critters. We saw a critter as small as an ant (OK, it WAS an ant) to huge elephants! We saw dogs, cats, a lizard, and a guinea pig. While we didn't see someone dressed in equestrian clothing, while riding a horse, we did see a pony! Oh yes, it was an awesome critter weekend! The photos were absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait to see what critters everyone shares next weekend.

So, my friends, I just had to take the opportunity to tell all of you...
Bloggers are the best!

Celebrating 500 with a Tribute to YOU

It has to be good...
NO, it has to be excellent!
It must be significant.
It should be touching.
It needs to be just right.

This is what went through my mind ALL day yesterday. This is what went through my mind while I attempted to determine what was going to be worthy of being my 500th post. However, that worthy post eluded me yesterday, and I sat brain dead and just starting at the compose post screen.

Then, at midnight, while half asleep, my brain decided to go into high-gear and composed a most magnificent post. Unfortunately, I was too dang tired to get up and create the post. Therefore, of course, that post has now been lost out there in dreamland. Well, the post I devised in my sleep has been lost, but the idea of the post, the meaning of the post, the whole concept and reason for the post... Ahhhh, I still have that. So... here it is...

The number of posts which have appeared on this blog is completely insignificant when compared to the reasons for those posts. The reasons for those posts are you, my friends. I have gained so many friends throughout the world, and I am thankful beyond expression. When I began blogging, I never could have imagined what I would gain and find here in the Blogosphere. I never imagined that I would have friends, whom I had never met in person or, some of whom I don't even know their real names, yet, would do anything in my power to be there for them if they were in need.

So, my friends, this 500th post is a tribute to some of the greatest people I have ever had the chance to get to know.

The Lawn Mower Queen
One of my very dearest friends. I am so lucky that when I married my husband, I got the blessing of calling you, LMK, your mom, brother, and dad my family. Your friendship means more to me than I can possibly put into words, which is probably a good thing, because I know you aren't big on 'all the mushy stuff'. Thanks for convincing me to join the blogging world!
Bear
Ahhh, my fellow-nature-and-critter-loving friend, who is just as obsessed with nature photography as I. Who would have know that a simple question in my Flickr mailbox would evolve into such a very special friendship. I am thankful for that friendship, for your patient answers to my questions, for your explanations, and for the laughs you provide (not to mention the hundreds of critters you have identified for me hehe).
Stacey
Jen
D...
Bubba's Sis
I group the four of you together, because well, that's just the way it should be! You were four of the first friends I found in the Blogosphere, and I have come to know and love you and your families beyond words. Stacey always lifts me up with her faith and the love she so generously showers on everyone (and she always makes me giggle). Jen/Gi, your stories are amazing and your sense of humor is outstanding and refreshing. D and B/S, I love you both separately as individuals, but even more, I love and admire the friendship you share with each other. You are both fantastically talented and unbelievably fun!
You are four beautiful women, inside and out.
Skittles
a.k.a. Barb. Wow - where do I begin? When I first found your blog, I was inspired. Your blog had posts that provided everything - fun, humor, entertainment, insight, emotions. It's all there. The first time you ever commented on my blog, I felt like I had just shook hands with a celebrity ;-) I mean, Skittles, she's famous! Now, I find myself saying thanks in my prayers every night for having been given the opportunity to develop this friendship with you. You have become one of my best friends. I will always be there to offer my friendship and support to you (and to try to convince Mike to let me play with his R/C cars *grin*). You have given me support, encouragement, laughs, understanding, compassion, and love. I can't begin to say what you mean to me.
Autumn
Ahhhh, my emotional-twin. If I had a dime for each time we thought along similar lines, I'd have that camera for sure! At first, I was always surprised at how often we thought alike. Now, I just laugh and say "We're doing it again!"
And, your poetry... the words and feelings you write... You are amazingly talented, and your words always touch me and reach out and grab a hold of my emotions.
Tammy
Where do I begin? Never ever in a million years would I have guessed that I would consider someone whom I have never met in person to be one of the best friends I have ever had. Never would I have guessed that I would do anything within my power if I knew this person needed me. I can only believe that our friendship was intended. There is no other explanation for it. I love you with all my heart, and our friendship is one of the most special gifts I have ever been blessed with. Now that I have met you, I don't know what I would do without you. (Besides, you are the craziest, corniest, moronic cashew I have ever met hehe)
Jolene
She no longer blogs, but she is a great person. I had the opportunity to talk to her on the phone recently, and she is loads of fun to talk to, and I wish her the best in life.
Bridget
Where'd you go, my friend? I miss you and your blog! One of the most inspiring people I have ever met. I don't know how she gets everything done that she does. She is amazing, loving, and inspiring.
Janice
I am often grateful for your ability to put into words the hard-truth of the matter, and also throw some witty sarcasm in for good measure. You have made me laugh out loud, smile, nod my head in agreement, and cry. You are an absolutely fantastic person, and I thank you for your friendship.
Bradley
A wonderful friend and person, with one of the most special families ever! Bradley, the Beautiful Wife, Bradley's Mom, and Sammy (my sweet, precious, adorable, and famous Sammy)... I love this whole family. Besides, if I don't get at least a weekly fix of Sammy-adorableness, I start shaking and going into withdrawals! I'm serious - that boy's adorableness is totally addicting!
Sanni
Another one of my greatest and most special friends! I would have never guessed that one of the people I hold closest to my heart (and one of my most special doggy-friends) would reside in Germany! You are absolutely gorgeous, my friend, inside and outside *grin*. I thank you for all of your help, all of your kind words of support and encouragement, and, most importantly, this fabulous and fun friendship! You are an absolute doll. I love you.
David
One of my role models, and, always, an inspiration to me. Your talents are outstanding, and your blog and posts give me the inspiration and encouragement to keep reaching for my goals. You are also a fantastic friend, and I thank you.
Linda
Your relationship with your daughters is so very special. You have a wonderful talent for writing, and I thank you for your friendship and support.
Rachel
Inspirational, beautiful, and loving - those words describe you.
Holly
A great person and mother, with an absolutely adorable son.
Ann
Ahhh, another one of my role models and inspirations. You are an amazing friend and person, Ann. I thank you for everything.
Sandee
Your blog always brings a smile to my face (and often makes me choke on my beverage *grin*). You are a fabulous person and a great friend.
Christy
A great person and writer, with wonderful determination and spirit. Thank you for your friendship.
Smalltown RN
A fantastic, caring, and intelligent person, who is also a very special friend.
BeccA
Your faith is inspiring and heart-warming. I thank you for taking the time to help me when I've needed it, and for the encouragement and friendship you have given me.
Anna
An amazing person, with wonderful talent and skill. You are a great friend, and I am so thankful I met you!
Vic
Your posts always teach me something, touch my heart, and make me smile. You truly are a one-of-a-kind and very special friend.
Carrie
A great mom and special person who is energetic and puts 110% into everything.
Terri
I still think we should go on a photo shoot together, although we'd probably spend too much time talking and laughing and too little time taking photos. Hey, we'd have an absolute blast though!
Travis
A spectacular person, who puts up with my going on and on about my precious Cleveland Indians. You rock, Trav!
Akelamalu
A truly considerate person and friend with a giant, generous heart. You touch so many people with your loving spirit. We are all lucky to know you.
Mimi
Your blogiting (blog + writing) talent is beyond compare. Your post are fun, thought-provoking, and sincere. You are inspirational and amazing.
Dottie
A very special person, whom I am so thankful to have met. You're a sweetheart, and I love you, my friend.
Cathy
You have fantastic writing talent, and I'm always excited when I see a new post. Sometimes, the similarities in our lives are very uncanny, but it is also so encouraging to know that someone else has the same experiences and feelings and is able to relate. Your posts always bring out so many emotions for me, whether I'm laughing out loud or shedding tears.
Siani
A talented writer and photographer who isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. You're a great person, and I thank you for all your support.
Kasey
I SO want to grab my camera and come hang out at your place! I want to meet all your wildlife friends and sit with you in your office, chatting and watching the birds at your feeders.
Chica
You say you don't deserve the title "photographer", but your awesome talent proves otherwise. Not only are you a fantastic photographer, you have a spectacular spirit and personality. When I think of you, I think 'she's one awesome Chica' ;-)
CrazyCath
I just recently discovered your blog, and I am SO thankful I did. You are also fantastically talented, as both a writer and a photographer. Your "Losing Me" post is one of the greatest posts I have ever read. I look forward to a long friendship with you.
John-Michael
Knowing you has made me a better person. Your generous and loving spirit and heart are beyond compare. You are proof that there is still good and love in this world. What more can I say than - I love you John-Michael.
Colin
You help and are good to my Tammy, and that makes you A-OK in my book (besides, you have a fantastic sense of humor and always make me laugh).
Vi's Biggest Fan
We've had many similar experiences in our lives, and it helps to know that someone else understands. You are beautiful, refreshing, and fun. You also have an amazing drawing ability. I'm so glad I met you!
Stacey (Real World Mom)
You are an absolute sweetheart through and through. Thank you for all your kind and encouraging comments. Now - get over there and give Maddie lots of smooches and belly rubs for me!
Sandy
An amazing and inspirational person, whose blog always brings a smile to my face. You and I certainly need that giant ranch where all our animal friends could feel safe and loved and never be turned away. Thank you for sharing your friendship. Thank you also for sponsoring the fun contests and for treating me with such special prizes!
Robyn
An awesome mother and great person. Your family is beautiful, as so are you.

Attention Blogging Buddies

In 2007, I was introduced to blogging. With that introduction, I was blessed with the discovery of so many indescribably special friendships. These friendships know no boundaries or restrictions due to distance. These friends got to know 'me', the true me, without the distractions of physical issues which sometimes prevent someone from taking the time to get to know the real person.
In six short months, these friends have stood by me when I was sad, scared, confused, lost, worried, nervous, angry, and depressed. These same friends have celebrated with me, cheered me on, laughed with me, and joined in with me when I was in a silly mood.
When we first arrived for our holiday visit, I immediately raced to the nearest computer. My BBFF (Tammy) had received results of a biopsy, and I had been traveling and unable to be there with her and find out the news. I knew it would be good news through, because I had prayed so much that God was going to make it OK just so He could get me to shut up ;-) As I anxiously checked my e-mail, I was asked "Is this 'one of those online friends'?" "Well, I met her online. Does that answer your question?"
Then I heard it... I knew is was coming, and I have become more and more intolerable of this comment or way of thinking... "So, she's not a REAL friend then?"
I just smiled and calmly replied, "Oh yes, she's a real friend. I have many wonderful 'real' friends whom I've never met face-t0-face, yet I say prayers for them every night. They have real families and real lives. They have real feelings and emotions, real worries, real dreams, real ideas, and real talents. These friendships are REAL blessings, which I wouldn't trade for anything. And, honestly, sometimes I think these friendships are more 'real' than others, because with these friendships, you get to know the 'real' person and that is what the friendship is based upon. Am I real? You don't doubt that I'm real; just like Tammy's son, daughter, and husband certainly have no doubts that Tammy is real. And, I have no doubt that these friendships are real!"

That was the first night I arrived, and, after that, my online friendships were not questioned again.

These friends I keep referring to, of course, are all of you! I am thankful for the opportunity to meet all of you. I am thankful for everything you have done for me. I am thankful for the friendships you have given me. I am looking forward to being friends through this next year. I am thankful that you are REAL.

I'm Thankful For You...and You... and You

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to post two special awards that I have received. For, I want to pass them on to my very special blogging friends, who are at the top of my list of things I am thankful for! I'm sure y'all won't be surprised that the beautiful award at the top just has me eager as heck to put it on my blog. It's doggies! I love me some doggies... any kind... any shape... any size... love em... just love em! But, you already knew that, didn't you? That's probably why I received this award twice - both from Tammy at Mom Knows Everything (who has given me a couple more awards recently, which I will post soon) and Sandee at Comedy Plus. They are just going to look absolutely adorable on my blog!

Sandee also gave me this adorable award. I don't think anyone can ever have too many adorable animals decorating their blog. It was kind of funny, because I saw this award at another blog and thought how cute it was (and secretly wished that I would receive it to put on my blog)... and then... Ms Sandee comes through and blesses me with this award.
Click "Read More" for a gift from me to you and the list of who receives these awards.

I posted this poem over at Misty's Words, but that blog doesn't have many readers, so I'm going to post it here to all my friends. Please know how very special you are to me and how thankful I am for this opportunity to discover all of these wonderful friendships.

To My Friends
Whenever you need to be held,
I will hold you.

Whenever you need to believe,
my words to you are always true.

Whenever you need a shoulder
upon to lean your head and cry

Whenever you need to talk
even if you don't understand why

Whenever you are lonely
or feeling very sad

Whenever you need to vent
because you are so mad

When you have a secret
which you need to share

Or when you simply need someone
to show you that she cares

Today, tomorrow, or anytime
you can count on me

No matter how you are feeling
you friend I will always be.
(c) Misty Dawn

Believe it or not, all of the above things can be performed virtually... across the cyber-blogosphere wires. I know, because you have all done these things for me.
Thank you.

I'm Thankful Beyond Words

Yesterday and today, I have been feeling extremely depressed. Then, several people reached out to me, which showed me how much I am loved. Their acts of kindness meant more to me than I can possibly express in words.

First, I received a package from the mailman yesterday. My dad's girlfriend had sent me a book entitled "The Power of Simple Prayer" by Joyce Meyer. She also included a very special note explaining that this book had helped her through some tough times, and she wanted to send it to me for some emotional support. She told me that she and my dad think I am doing an outstanding job adjusting to the multitude of changes in my life. She even called me a special and caring person who has what it takes to 'stay the course'. If you could see the tears streaming down my face right now, you would know how much this act of love means to me!

Then, today, the UPS man showed up at my door. Aunt J (the fabulous aunt whom I have mentioned many times before) sent me a box containing THREE containers of my favorite chip dip! This is Lawson's Chip Dip, and you can only get it at certain stores, which we, of course, do not have in this state. Again, this act of love - letting me know that she was thinking of me and that I mean enough to her to do this for me - well, it made me cry again (Gosh, I'm turning into such a mushy sap!). I got online and thanked her via instant messenger, and she told me that she sent enough so I could share, if I wanted to. Ummmm, yeah, of course I planned on sharing (*running to the fridge to hide the containers WAY in the back so no one knows where they are*).

And, to top it off, I received an e-mail from PayPal telling me that a fellow blogging friend sent me a donation towards my camera fund. I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm not going to mention a name, because I don't want to put that very considerate person on the spot. I just wanted to express how much that meant to me, especially with the way I have been feeling emotionally.

I am so blessed to have people who love me and some very special friends. I feel a bit guilty for feeling alone and sorry for myself these past few days. There have been some things said to me, which made me feel very inadequate and hurt. However, I should just take the time to realize the blessings of love and kindness that are shown to me, rather than focusing on the negative. Yes, I am spoiled. I am spoiled with so much love (sometimes more than I think I deserve). I only hope that I make my family and friends know how much I love them and how important they are to me. I pray for that every night. I learned a long time ago to not take people for granted, and I pray that I have never made anyone doubt what they mean to me.

Thanks to Wonderful Friends!

I wanted to say thank you to those of you who took the time to go over and visit Tammy at Mom Knows Everything and leave her a few words of encouragement. It really means a lot to me that you did that, and I know it means the absolute world to her. My request isn't over yet though (I know, I'm a demanding little thing!). Tammy's surgery is over (she says it was horrible - I wish I could have been there to support her), but she is now waiting for results of a biopsy. I, myself, am NOT a patient person - I don't do well with waiting. So, I ask that you all keep her in your thoughts and prayers that her wait won't be long and she will be receiving good news! Thanks again!

This internet always makes me realize and be amazed at how strong and wonderful friendships can be between people who have not even met in person. Then, again, with the internet, we are not limited to meeting people within our geographic location. And, one thing that is true in my case I feel more free to be 'me' with my online friends. I am not as self-conscious or unsure of myself. I can just be me, and if you don't like me, chances are I won't even know that unless you decide to send me a message telling me. No, that is NOT an open invitation to send me messages telling me you don't like me - please, just let me go on pretending that everyone is cyberworld loves me ;-)

Thanks again - you are the best!!!

Thanks & Food Poisoning Update

Thank you to everyone for the get-well wishes! They must have worked, because my stomach is doing much better today (as long as I don't eat much)! And, yes, I definitely think that it was the result of some bad seafood.

Lousy thing is that I woke up this morning with what I think is the beginning of a sinus infection. What's up with that? Was this just supposed to be a 'be-sick-and-feel-lousy' weekend??? Oh well, in general, my health is usually pretty good, despite the Fibro and associated conditions that go along with FMS. So, I can't complain.

I'm just having one of those days where when you stand up from a sitting position, or sit down, or bend over, everything starts swishing around in your head and that little creature that is living in there gets out its hammer and starts first on your temples, then on your forehead, and then it crawls around and starts pounding behind your eyes, along side your nose, in your ears, in your cheekbones and even in your teeth and jaws. Wish I could find that stupid little creature that is causing such a problem!

I've realized a few things from the responses to the So Tell Me... post: 1. My little game didn't go over too well, and 2. Y'all ('cept maybe for Bubba's Sis) don't even come close to being as addicted as I! Gosh, I don't know whether to be proud or concerned. I'll probably post a few more "So Tell Me..." posts, simply because I find myself walking or working and wondering about how you would answer certain questions. So, I'll post a few more, but if I don't see much interest, then I'll quit.

I've also realized that even though I decided to venture into the 'get paid for blogging' world, you guys are still visiting my blog. I truly appreciate that! I was a little worried that I would lose readers (I don't have many readers to spare!) when I started really working at earning some money from my blog. Thank you so much for being understanding and for still coming around to see what I have to say!
